1. Smart links are not just short links:
They are powerful tools that give you the freedom to customize redirect rules. For example, with a single short link, you can direct users to different destinations based on the parameters you set and who clicks. The rules cover various criteria, including the operating system, browser, language, location, date/time window, total clicks, unique visits, and more! And the best part? You can update any destination URL at any time, giving you the flexibility to adapt your strategies as needed.
2. Here are some helpful guidelines and insights:
- Create a smart link by selecting and modifying any regular short link on the "Manage URLs" page.
- Select a link from your list, then click the compass icon at the top of the page.
- We provide for stacking multiple rules with resultant routing trees as the complexity increases, but infinitely manageable within our system.
3. A device example:
- Start with a baseline link to the iPhone landing page.
- Under the routing criterion, pick platform > Android > click on "http://example.com" and enter the long URL to your Android landing page then "Add rule."
- As a result, it will route all visitors (including iOS) to the iPhone baseline destination and Android visitors to its dedicated Android destination.
4. A Country-Browser Example:
Root entry - http://custom.com/root will redirect:
- USA users to http://custom.com/usa_node
- India users to http://other-site.com
- China users to http://custom.com/notfound/usa_node may have its routing configured separately.
- Windows users to http://newapp-soft.com/win/
- Mac users to http://newap-soft.com/mac/
- We even make it easy if you have issues deciphering the 2-letter geocodes in the routing filter setup. This decode tool generally solves the problem in the blink of an eye.
