The word "also" is rarely appropriate in encyclopedia writing, so I always remove it when I encounter it. Removed the phrase "as well as," which should never be used in encyclopedia writing. In formal writing, especially encyclopedia writing, the goal is to state a fact using the fewest words possible. "And" should always be used instead of "as well as." undo Tag: Visual edit
