  • curprev 11:1511:15, 8 May 2024223.206.208.72 talk 44,920 bytes 0 →‎Flight and landings: My father Tod Sweeney was in Glider 5 not 6, that was Denis Fox's Glider which landed before Glider 5 and his platoon were the first to capture the river bridge now known as Horsa Bridge. Glider 4 which carried Captain Priday and Lt Hooper was cast off in the wrong place but landed next to a bridge some miles away. They captured that bridge but then had to fight their way back through enemy positions to rejoin the battalion the next day. Tags: Mobile edit Mobile web edit
