About this ebook

"WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU DIE" is a comprehensive, scholarly exploration of one of life's most profound questions. This deeply researched book delves into the Biblical perspective on death, the afterlife, and the soul, offering readers a clear, scriptural understanding of what awaits us beyond the grave.

Structured into twenty-seven insightful chapters, the book begins by addressing the universal experience of grief and loss, providing comfort and hope through the lens of Scripture. It then transitions into a thorough examination of Biblical teachings on the nature of the soul, the reality of death, and the promise of resurrection. The book confronts and challenges popular doctrines such as the immortality of the soul and eternal torment, scrutinizing these beliefs against the backdrop of Biblical texts and historical context.

Key features of the book include:

An in-depth analysis of the parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus, exploring its symbolic meanings and theological implications.

A critical look at traditional teachings on hell, with chapters dedicated to understanding Biblical terms like Sheol, Hades, and Gehenna, and their real meanings.

A thoughtful examination of the Biblical narrative of human origins, the fall into sin, and the consequences of disobedience as outlined in the Genesis account.

An exploration of the contrast between the concepts of immortality and eternal life as presented in the Scriptures.

"WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU DIE" is not just a theological treatise but a source of comfort and hope. It reassures believers about God's justice and love and offers a Biblically grounded perspective on the end of life, the afterlife, and the fate of the soul. This book is an invaluable resource for anyone seeking to understand death and what comes after from a Biblical viewpoint, making it essential reading for theologians, ministers, Bible students, and anyone grappling with questions about life, death, and eternity.

This is an important book for those who worry about the doctrine of hell fire, either because they have loved ones whom they know did not accept Jesus Christ in their lifetimes, or because the concept of eternal conscious torment (otherwise known as ECT) just does not seem to jive with what they have been taught all their lives about God's character. There are those also, too many I believe, to whom the doctrine of hell fire or ECT has become a stumbling block - "I just cannot believe in a god that would torture people for an eternity for a temporal sin." The author takes a straight biblical approach to show that the Bible teaches that eternal life is promised only to the righteous in Christ. And, in fact, the Bible does not teach that the lost are tormented forever and ever. The author cites passage after passage in context as he makes his points. It is not based on sentimentality. God is not only good but He is just. So there is a penalty to pay for those not in Christ Jesus, and that penalty is clearly death - from Genesis to Revelation.
