Resource Responders: mapping our span to efficiently procure things we need (like bags!)
Thank you in advance for participating in the beta aversion of the Resource Responders project.
WHAT IS THIS?
Resource Responders is a web of volunteers that help procure supplies from donors who live nearby. An individual Resource Responder is willing to…
be a drop-off spot
for someone with a donation of items we need and have put a call out for, like plastic bags, for example. This is further explained at the bottom of the form.
pick-up
a donation
of items from an address within a radial distance you’re comfortable traveling.
do
either
, as needed and as you're available.
Our goal is to create a functional tool for handing off all kinds of resources but to start out, we’re keeping things simple by pursuing plastic bags for Produce in the Park, our weekly free food distribution. This is a low-commitment project that works well with any type of schedule. Participants can pass on opportunities or opt-out completely at any time.

FURTHER EXPLANATION...
A volunteer fills out the above Resource Responder form indicating their proximate location and preferred method of handoff. This puts them on a map along with other Resource Responders, making it simple for a project coordinator to determine the most efficient match for an incoming donation.
The poster below is one of the several circulating around for folks to see and follow through on with a request to coordinate a pick-up or drop-off.
Thank you again and again for your involvement!
