Connect to Eduroam with an Android Device
For the more detail about the Wireless/Wifi network services and available information please see our Wireless/WiFi Article [Click Here]
- In Settings click on Wi-Fi or Connections. Select the Eduroam WiFi Network (as used in the screenshots here). This wireless network is available to staff and students with valid student email addresses and includes those staff and students from other affiliated tertiary institutions using Eduroam on their school network.
- On Android devices, you may need to set the following:
- EAP Method is set to "Peap"
- Phase 2 Authentication is set to MSCHAPV2
- Set the CA Certificate to "Do not validate" (this option may differ across other Android phones)
- Enter your student or staff email address in the identity field
- Enter your network password in the Password field.
- IMPORTANT: If your password has expired or your device is not connecting to Eduroam, reset your password on any campus computer before trying again. If you cannot remember your password, contact the ICT Service Centre for a password reset.
- When connected to the Eduroam Wireless Network, it may indicate this by showing "Eduroam Connected" or "Eduroam".
Android 11 (and later)
If you are running Android 11 or later the option "Do not validate" under CA certificate may longer appear. Connecting to Eduroam using the eduroam CAT app (Configuration Assistant Tool) will general resolve this issue.
