In Ephesians 6:10-20, the apostle Paul likened the life of the Christian to that of a Roman soldier in his day engaged in hand-to-hand combat. Of course, the war of the Christian is a spiritual one, not literal. Nevertheless, the enemies of Christ are very real. Satan and his demons are skilled demonic warriors with great powers, possessing thousands of years of experience. Some Christians may feel that our hope of surviving against a demon is very bleak.

New Christians and young Christians may appear to be vulnerable to such powerful forces. How is it possible to win a war against superhuman, wicked demonic forces? The fact is, we can win such a war. Because we can "be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might." Moreover, we do more than draw on the power of God. Paul has shown us how we are to dress for battle. We can become like well-trained soldiers, who have "Put on the full armor of God." Brent currently resides with his wife Michelle, daughter Grace and sons Luke and Micah in Scottsburg, Indiana. He is currently the pastor of New Bethel Church in Lexington Indiana and loves to teach and preach the word of God.
