Building Literacy through Wildlife
Join the Arizona Game and Fish Department for an engaging, hands-on workshop that will introduce educators to practical techniques and ideas to integrate reading and writing into science instruction, with an emphasis on wildlife. Both fiction and non-fiction readings will be used to engage participants. In addition, a variety of science writing skills will be covered. Activities are designed for a wide range of grade levels.

This workshop will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 9am until 3pm. It will be held at the Hirsch Conservation Education Area at the Ben Avery Shooting Facility.

The workshop is free. However, space is limited and registration is required. Registration does not guarantee participation. Spots will be filled on a "first to register" basis. If all spots are filled, additional registrations will be added to a waiting list. All accepted participants will receive additional details as we get closer to the program.

All educators are welcome to register.

All participants will receive a certificate for 5.5 hours of continuing education credit. Participants will be responsible for bringing their own lunch.
