First, let us begin with the banner. For those of you that are wondering what is written underneath the cute ribbons, it says "Welcome to this Thread". So hello and welcome everyone. This thread is obviously for the people of mene and for the people who share a love of Asian things. Or in this case Korean things, in this thread we can talk about everything. Does not necessarily have to be Korean. I made a Korean music thread a while back and the response was kind of amazing. I saw that many Menewshans shared the same love for Korean music like me. This thread will not only talk about Korean Music, it will talk about Korean Food and Culture. This thread will have contests and lots of fun games like every other thread, so I hope people will come in here and chat their hearts out about things Asian or non-Asian, Korean or non-Korean. Oh and please note I am not a Korean speaking child, in fact I am a Indian born Canadian. I am trying to teach myself (and failing) Korean, so yeah. I guess that is it for now, come on in join and us and do not be shy! If you like to learn about new cultures and like to explore new genres and kinds of music then this is for you! Oh and the guy on the right is one of my favourite Korean guys. He is from the band called ShineE and his name is TaeMin. Yes, you can call me his fan girl! -Giggles-

The Rules.

Biggest issue; Please do not ignore people purposely. I hate having peoples feelings hurt.
No drama in this thread. Good natured arguments are okay but nothing personal please.
Follow Menewsha TOS, just because this is a nations thread does not give this thread any special "exceptions".
Everything is PG-13 so that means if you are sharing pictures or what not please keep it clean.
No over cursing. I understand if you are having a bad day or feeling stressed out. But I do NOT want to see every sentence you write start off and finish with obscenity.
I am owner of this thread, so if I ask some one to leave or tone it down I want you guys to respect that and actually do what I say. Please and Thank you.

Korean Music.

Hello and welcome to the section of Korean Music! Korean music is probably one of the nicest kind of music I have heard, though I cannot understand anything it is still very fun to listen too. I have many favourite Korean bands, some of the bands/singers are ShineE, DBSK, Big Bang, SS501, Brown Eyed Girls, F(x), BoA, Wonder Girls, 2nE1 and Super Junior. Out of the bands I listen to these guys and girls have the most beautiful and well trained voices [[only according to me]]. There are also lots of other bands and singers, and almost every month they have new singers/bands joining the Korean-Pop industry. I get all the information right here on all K-pop. This place has everything from celebrity news to new dramas that might be airing. Some songs for people that might be thinking about listening to Korean Pop.

Korean Food.

All right, so this section is about peoples favourite thing! FOOD! Yay! Korean food comes in many variates, though some may be similar to other Asian foods such as Japanese or Chinese the taste is WAY different. Trust me. One of my favourite food has got to be Kimchi. It is mainly made from vegetables but can be made from meat too, but only fish. Well, at least that is the way the Koreans prefer. Kimchi is their main dish and should be served with all meals all the time, there are different types of Kimchi. Such as kimchi stew, kimchi stew has kimchi in it. It is kind of hard to explain what kimchi is unless you actually eat it, so search yourself up a recipe for kimchi, make it and then snarf it down. Another food that should be served at every Korean meal is soup, Koreans like soup. ALOT. Oh and other favourite foods include, fish and rice cakes! [Yummy!]
Dessert.

Korean desserts are beautiful to look at and wonderful to eat at the same time. Some desserts include; Yakgwa these are fried honey cakes. Jungkwa, a jello like desert the Koreans eat, Patbingsu which is made from shaved ice and is topped of with red beans, yogurt, milk, syrup, rice cakes and corn flakes.Gyung Dan, these are just sweet rice balls coated with sesame seeds. That is all on food now, will add more later!

Well, you guys all know what this means right? It means I come up with things for you guys to do and I pick the top five I like and then those top five people get prizes! Yes, a pretty good deal for you guys. So, this place will keep on getting updated hopefully every month or two. The only thing I know about Korea is that I like Manwha (the Korean version of manga) and I knew a kid from South Korea. Not very well though! :XD

*swings in to say hi* :D I'm a half Korean with...a very limited (but growing!) Korean speaking and reading ability.

I'm in Korea until April. If anyone's interested, I can share some photos I've taken of places like the King's Palace and the Folk Village. I'm still trying to travel more to see (and eat) everything I can.

It's interesting you mentioned patbingsu...I never even heard of it until I came here. It's pretty good!

And manhwa and music...oh goodness. xD I cannot get into how much I've wanted since coming here. 8D

@Tori : O That is so cool! I really want to visit Korea, I would take that as my trip any day! My friends and I have a plan that right after we graduate high school we are taking a trip to Korea, Japan and Italy 8D And I second that! I would too love too see those pictures! ^^

@Toxic Yeah! There songs are really catchy xD I just can't seem to get them out of my head when ever I listen to them xD

The one song that is really annoying to me is Bo Peep xD It bugs me to the core because it gets stuck in your head so easily >________<

Oh, I hate when my parents don't answer their call and I spazz out and they come home and give me that "What?! So what if we are late and we didn't tell you that we were going to be late" look xD
