Is the exclusive use of the word "women" (and "girls") appropriate in this article? There are men, nonbinary people, and intersex people that experience menstruation due to having a uterus; using just "women" seems to me like it overly generalises the group of people that experience it and excludes trans people. (Usually I'd be [[WP:BOLD|bold]] and change it myself, but I'm on mobile and also don't have the energy for a big edit like that right now.) Menstrual blood vs Menstrual fluid

Please note that the 35-50 ml menstrual loss per cycle refers to BLOOD, not fluid. The amount of menstrual fluid, which includes mucus and endometrial tissue, is much more. Please refer to, e.g., https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3494145/, and for a simple language explanation, to: https://rubycup.com/blogs/articles/how-much-do-you-bleed-on-your-period, and the references cited there. Use of the word "women"

Is the exclusive use of the word "women" (and "girls") appropriate in this article? There are men, nonbinary people, and intersex people that experience menstruation due to having a uterus; using just "women" seems to me like it overly generalises the group of people that experience it and excludes trans people. This is mentioned briefly under Menstruation#Etymology and terminology, but Wikipedia has consistently rejected replacing the term wholesale. This has also been discussed in the archives, e.g. Talk:Menstruation/Archive 2#Reverted changes (gendered language). This is, after all, how sources on the topic generally write about it, so we are in good company in following that. Please also note the 3rd, 4th, and 6th bullet points here, especially this community consensus. Crossroads -talk- 18:17, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
