Mmabatho has established herself and revelled in her roles as an actress and voice over artist over the years. She has vast experience in both television and theatre as a commendable practitioner.

She bears theatre credits of well-acclaimed plays both locally and internationally. She has served in theatre as an actor, in production and executive roles.

Mmabatho also appeared on the small-screen in a diverse role repertoire and in a variety of genres; from a blonde afro wig spotting damsel in a comedy.  

In 1999, she joined with the SABC1 drama serial ''Yizo Yizo'' and played the role "Snowey". After receiving popularity for her role, she continued to play the role until the end of third season in 2004. After that, she appeared in the second season of police procedural ''Zero Tolerance'' with the role "Sonia".<ref name="mlasa" /> In 2006, she played the role of "Botshelo" in the 'Heartlines' film ''The Other Woman''. At the Johannesburg School for children with autism, she served children living with Autism Spectrum Disorder as group and individual clients. She also served as an intern at Empilweni Substance Abuse Centre after which she was in their employ concerned with male adults seeking rehabilitation from drug abuse. Currently in her practice, she serves a pediatric and adult client base on individual basis offering psychosocial support. She also conducts both group and individual drama therapy sessions for a wider client base as the need arises. She also supervises drama therapy professionals and interns entering the sector.


Mmabatho and other officials established Making Amends Foundation , a Non Profit Organisation registered by the Department of Social Development. Making Amends Foundation is a professional organisation that facilitates personal growth and promote health by facilitating healing for individuals with a range of mental illnesses, cognitive and developmental disorders , using drama therapy. Through the Foudation, the Mosaic Drama Therapy Programme was established in 2023. The programme provides access to mental health care service for artists using a creative intervention that is relatable to them called drama therapy. Mosaic Drama Therapy Programme is a form of psychological therapy where all creative arts and especially theatre, are utilised within the therapeutic relationship. This programme was funded through the National Arts Council - Presidential Employment Stimulus Programme (PESP) for 2023. The foundation delivered a successful programme, with one established Drama Therapist and nine Drama and Music Therapy Interns. The programme also employed the following support personnel: Programme Director, Project Manager and a Project Coordinator.
