On the 15 April 2024, in Wakeley, New South Wales, a suburb of Sydney, an assailant entered the 'Christ The Good Shepherd' Assyrian church and stabbed four people, including bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel. This stabbing occurred just 2 days after the Bondi stabbings.

The events took place in a suburb of Sydney, Wakeley.[1] An assailant reportedly entered the 'Christ The Good Shepherd' Assyrian church[2] and attacked four people with a knife, starting with a bishop, by directing himself towards the altar,[3] Mar Mari Emmanuel.[1] The event was livestreamed, since the bishop was preaching.[2] The attacker was subsequently apprehended and put into custody.[1][2][4]

Aftermath

Casualties and suites

Four people suffered non-life threatening injuries, including the bishop.[5] One of them was taken to Liverpool Hospital.[5]
