Background

History

On 1 April 2024, an Israeli airstrike bombed the Iranian consulate in Damascus, killing three Iranian commanders, including Quds Force commander Mohammad Reza Zahedi.[1] On 13 April, Iran initiated an aerial assault against Israel in the Golan Heights.[2]
