During the early – mid 1990’s Charlotte’s Westside celebrated its heritage and culture at an annual summer community festival – West Fest. The festival, which started on the football field of West Charlotte High School, featured local vendors; local, regional and national artists; community resources; games and much more! Charlotte’s Westside became a destination location for many around the city and region during the festival, which started as a one-day event, but eventually grew into a weekend event.
Unfortunately, West Fest ended before reaching its 10-year anniversary.
In an effort to build community, engage with the residents in the communities on Charlotte’s west side and re-establish an event that brought the community together, Project L.I.F.T. resurrected the event in 2013 and had much success seeing over 2,000 attendees.
This year’s event will feature performances by local, regional and national acts, a community resource fair, games, food and a parade. It will be held at West Charlotte High School.
