Underground Scholars Transfer Pledge
This form is for formerly incarcerated community college students who would like support from Underground Scholars in transferring to the UC system.

Transfer Cohort Requirements:
- Must be formerly incarcerated and/or system-impacted. Our program recognizes the importance of supporting and providing resources to formerly incarcerated students. We seek to provide equitable access and recruitment of this specific group of people.
- Must share updates on progress with Underground Scholars each semester. We will send google form for you to complete around the end of each semester.
- Must attend at least one Underground Scholars recruitment event each year.
- Must be responsive to emails from Underground Scholars. We require a 3-4 day reply from the day you receive our e-mail.
- Must attend transfer workshops and submit drafts of essays on time when you start the application process.
- Must create a Gmail account for communication and program purposes.
- Must meet with an academic counselor at your community college to ensure you are on track to apply for transfer to a UC.
-If you already graduated from a community college but are unsure if you are transfer eligible, contact us.

Transfer Cohort Benefits:
- Support with developing an academic plan to transfer to a UC school.
- Support, feedback, and holistic analysis of your transfer application.
- Connection to other supportive resources on and off-campus.
- Community college students near Berkeley may participate in our cross-enrollment program.

Students are highly encouraged to take the pledge in the first couple of semesters at community college to receive the maximum benefit from the program.

We define system-impacted as a person who is legally, economically, or familially affected in a negative way by the incarceration of a close relative. System-impacted also includes people who have been arrested and/or convicted without incarceration.
