Spooky Goose Opera

Allowing the full potential of humanity to shine through our art.

About

Spooky Goose Opera is a forward thinking, inclusive, opera company driven to change the nature of the modern opera company. We represent those who are typically under represented - Black, Asian Americans, Indigenous, LGBTQIA, mentally/physically handicap singers, larger singers, and other groups that aren't given appropriate opportunities, whether on stage or behind the scenes. Our operations and administrative team is comprised of individuals from underrepresented groups as well.

Our Flock is provided with diversity training, anti-racism training, LGBTQIA+ and Trans sensitivity training through the members portal. We are firm believers in education and exposure to help progress our society. We strive to uphold all moral integrity and hold high values for our team.

As a company, we strive to present works that aren't done often, and offer a place to present new works in a safe environment. Thus far, we have done so in our Quarantine Concert Series and will continue to do so with the premiere "Yellow Wallpaper" composed by Dr. Tyler Hughes.

Spooky Goose is comprised of many Internationally recognized performers, and those in the National circuit, as well as many who are not cast appropriately or have been let go from their work or reviewed for oppressive reasons. Many of our Geese have been reviewed by the New York Times, Opera News, Operawire, amongst others. We are working to cross bounds by not being a one city opera company - having our hub city be NYC, but having singers in Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Denver, Santa Fe, and Los Angeles. We strive to harbor positive networking and connections throughout the arts world.
