ACCOMMODATION AVAILABLE  ON CAMPUS?

On Murcia campus, we have a residence  https://www.ucam.edu/servicios/alojamientos/residencial and a Housing dpt. Due to the high demand, it is usually very difficult to find a place. Students may have to look for private accommodation themselves.

WHAT IS THE AVERAGE COST  OF ACCOMMODATION PER  MONTH?

+-300 EUROS only rent, WITHOUT WATER AND ELECTRICITY

CATERING/RESTAURANT  FACILITIES AVAILABLE ON  CAMPUS?

LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION

B2 English level is required for courses from our degrees taught in English.

A2 Spanish level is recommended for courses from our degrees taught in Spanish. However, in some courses, you may be asked for a B1 level, mostly in practice courses in Nursing, Medicine, Physiotherapy…

DOES THE UNIVERSITY TEACH  IN ENGLISH? IF NOT, WHAT  LANGUAGE ARE COURSES  TAUGHT IN?

COURSES ARE TAUGHT IN SPANISH. Although we don't require a certificate, we recommend an A2 level. For some practical stays in Health Sciences degrees, the student may be asked for a B1.

The degrees given in English are Business administration, Dentistry, Psychology and Sport sciences, where you will be asked for a B2 level.

HOW MANY CREDITS DO  STUDENTS TAKE PER  

SEMESTER?

EXCHANGE STUDENTS HAVE TO TAKE 30 ECTS/SEMESTER. NO  MATTER IF, THEY TAKE LESS. POSSIBILITY OF TAKING COURSES  FROM DIFFERENT DPTS WITH THE AVERAGE OF 60% FROM A MAIN UCAM DEGREE, 40% OPTIONAL (except in Medicine)

1) Faculty of Law: Criminology, Law, Human  Resources and Labour Relations

2) Faculty of Economy and Enterprise: Business  Administration, Marketing and Commercial management, Tourism

3) Polytechnic School: Civil engineering; Computing;  Telecommunication; Building Engineering; Architecture

4) Faculty of Medicine: Medicine, Dentistry*, Psychology

5) Faculty of Sport: Sport sciences

6) Faculty of Nursing

7) Faculty of Pharmacy and Nutrition: Biotechnology, Pharmacy, Food Technology, Nutrition, Gastronomy.

8) Faculty of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Podology

9) Faculty of Education: Translation and Interpretation, Primary Education, Childhood Education

10) Faculty of Communication: Journalism, Advertising & Public Relations, Audiovisual Communication

*Dentistry is out of any exchange program

RESTRICTIONS

1) Health Sciences degrees:  

We highly recommend an A2 Spanish level for theoretical courses and a B1 for clinical stays.

-Physiotherapy: students wishing to attend training courses may have to go to Cartagena campus.

-Psychology: the degree does not accept exchange students in the Work Placement/Practicum courses. The courses “Habilidades del terapeuta”, “Neurobioquímica y Psicofarmacología”, “Psicología de la salud aplicada”, “Intervención en salud mental” and “Programas de intervención psicológica” are not available in the degree in Spanish. They do are in English option.

The courses Neuropsychological Evaluation, Educational Guidance and Psychopedagogy, Developmental Disorders and Learning Difficulties, Early childhood intervention, Neurodevelopment, Psychoeducational Intervention for childhood disorders, Neuropsychological rehabilitation, Social and emotional Development and Child Neuropsychology are not available in the degree in English.

-Medicine: they can only accept 4 exchange students per course.  Hospital rotatories of 6th year aren’t available for exchange students. Only students from Medicine will be able to select courses from this degree.

-Nursing: they may ask for a B1 Spanish level in case of clinical stays. Students wishing to make a clinical/hospital practice, should be nominated before 1st of May, either if coming for 1st semester or 2nd semester.

-Gastronomy: the degree doesn’t accept exchange students in the practical course.

Other restrictions may be in some courses later on.

2) Law, Economy:

-Business Administration: either in Spanish or in English (a B2 is required in this language) the degree has limited spots for exchange students. The courses “Business English”, European Community Law, Business Information Systems, Auditing, Financial and Tax Law II, Financial Analysis, International trade and Quality Management and Innovation are not open to exchange students. Neither the Practicum/Traineeship course.

-Marketing and Commercial management, Human Resources and Labour Relations: they have limited places for exchange students. Courses from 1st year of Marketing are not open to exchange students. Neither the courses “Inglés commercial”, “Multimedia y diseño gráfico” and “Marketing en buscadores”.

-Tourism: courses from 1st and 2nd years of the degree wont be active for 23-24.

 

 

3) Communication and Education:

degrees on: Journalism, Advertising & Public Relations, Audiovisual Communication: students coming from these areas will be sent the list of available courses.

Translation: a B2 in English language is required. They also have limited spots for exchange students. For the courses Español I and II a C1 of Spanish language is required. as well as for the courses Traducción Inglés/Español-Español/Inglés

Modern Languages: this degree does not exist anymore since 2023.

 

4) Sports:

“Deportes de raqueta/Racquet Sports”, “Actividad física en la naturaleza/Physical activity in nature”, “Deportes náuticos/Water sports” and “Natación/Swimming” are non-elective for incoming students, either in spanish or english languages. The Practicum/Traineeship course is not available.

IS THERE PROVISION FOR  STUDENTS TO SIT THEIR  EXAMS IN ENGLISH?

FEW PROFESSORS FROM COURSES IN SPANISH ACCEPT TO MAKE EXAMS IN ENGLISH. INCOMING STUDENTS MUST SEE THIS ISSUE WITH PROFESSORS.

WHILST THEY STUDY?

YES, if they find an enterprise and their academic timetable is compatible with  their working hours. If a student has a visa, the student will have to check the restrictions. The student has to fulfill all the migration rules about it.
