Smoking Gunn (Bridge to Abingdon Book 7) Kindle Edition
Cole: Jamie Grant might be the brashest son of a b!tch I’ve ever met. He rolled up to my uncle’s farm the week after I got out of the clink to accuse me of a crime I didn’t commit. Before I could even prove my innocence, he asked me for my number. I keep telling him I want him to stay away. But I’m lying through my teeth, and that smirk tells me he knows it. I can’t get free of that man, not until I’ve felt his lips against mine. But I’m getting framed again, and there’s no way a cop and a convict can make it together, even if I am innocent.
Smoking Gunn is the seventh book in the Bridge to Abingdon series. Each book focuses on one sizzling couple, and each can be read as a standalone.

About the author

Tatum West is a writer and lover of MM romance. She grew up queer in a straight world. She’s now a mom of two, a dog-mom of one, and she’s working hard to raise kids who know that love is love and see the magic and depth of all human interactions. She crochets, crafts, and creates. She’s so glad she gets to write for a living and make characters who speak to her soul.
Tatum hails from Virginia and went to camp every summer near Abingdon. The Abingdon of the Bridge to Abingdon is a fictionalized version of many small towns, all thrown together and rolled up into one. The men of the town are the ideals created by her heart and mind, all on their paths to true love.

At 17yo Cole’s best friend does a very stupid thing and dies for it. Cole gets blamed and ends up in prison for 10 long years. With nothing much else to do, he gets a buff body, but remains quietly diligent learning from a friend how to tend bees. When it is proven to be a wrongful conviction, Cole is exonerated and released into the custody of his supportive uncle, Thad. Cole is mistrustful of most people but especially of the police. He meets Jamie at a fitness club and there are sparks immediately. But can things go smoothly for this poor guy? NO! Cole finds out that Jamie is a cop.
Things get much worse before they end happily. This book made me fist-pump when the bad guys get their comeuppance and cry when it looks like all is lost. Another plus for me about this book is that both men are handsome and buff. That’s how I like my M/M romances ;-)
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and it comes highly recommended for those who like M/M love stories with medium steam, angst, suspense and a beautiful HEA.
Overall I enjoyed this series, but I don’t think it’s a must read unless you really enjoy small town drama and well written relationship dynamics. I do highly recommend Silver Fox. I really loved that one!

Amazing story with likeable characters and a storyline that draws you in and keeps you interested from start to finish. Cole and Jamie have a completely unexpected spark but there are so many doubts and wariness that a relationship seems impossible. Their journey has fears, deception, hope, trust, steamy passion, a deep connection, genuine love, and a sweet HEA.
I would have liked for the timeline to be clearer but other than that, I found this book to be entertaining and enjoyable, it has romance, is loaded with emotions, a mystery, and more. I would definitely recommend this book.
