Purpose:
4
The purpose of this spreadsheet is to provide an option for teachers and schools to complete, share, evaluate, and manage SLO documents. The content in this file is based on the documentation provided by the Ohio Department of Education. For details, directions, and examples concerning SLO's, please refer to ODE's SLO website at:

Copies:
8
This is a read-only spreadsheet template. To make changes you will need to make your own copy of this spreadsheet. To make your own copy, you need to be logged into a Google account, either with a personal Gmail account or a school-provided Google Apps for Education account. If you are logged into your Google account you can make your own copy of the spreadsheet by clicking "File" in the top menu, and then clicking "Make a copy..."

Tabs:
14
Across the bottom of the spreadsheet are multiple tabs for the various parts of the SLO process including...
15
- Data tabs: These tabs are for teachers to review their student baseline data and to identify trends in student performance prior to writing their SLO's.
16
- SLO tabs: These tabs are used for teachers to write their SLO's and for schools to evaluate the SLO's. There are four SLO tabs to allow teachers to create up to four SLO's.
17
- Scores tabs: These tabs are used to organize student data including baseline scores, growth targets, and final scores, as well as if students have met their targets. The spreadsheet automatically calculate the percentage of students who have met or exceeded their targets, as well as the overall numerical rating for the SLO.
18
- Temp tab: You can use this tab to copy and paste or import student data from external data sources. You can then copy just the columns of data you need from the "Temp" tab and paste into your "SLO" or "Scores" tabs.
19
- If more than four SLO's are needed for a teacher, more copies of the tabs can be made by clicking on a tab at the bottom and choosing "Duplicate".

21
Sharing:
22
For collaboration, this spreadsheet should be shared with edit rights between the teacher and the school SLO review group. This can be done through the "Share" button at the top, or by putting this spreadsheet in a previously shared folder in Google Drive. For more information about how to share Google documents, see:

32
33
Importing Student Data:
34
If you have student names, ID's, test scores, and such, in an electronic form, you can most likely copy and paste the data into this spreadsheet rather than retyping all the information. Data may come from your gradebook program, SIS, assessment tracker, and such. However, your data may not be in columns that match the order of this spreadsheet, or may include more columns of data than you need.
- One option would be to copy the data and paste it into the tab named "Temp" in this spreadsheet. Then you can copy just the columns of data you need from the "Temp" tab and paste the data into your "SLO" or "Scores" tab.
- Another option would be to go to the "Temp" tab and then click "File" and "Import". Choose an external data file and the "Replace current sheet" option to pull in the data.
- Either way, then you can copy just the columns of data you need from the "Temp" tab and paste into your "SLO" or "Scores" tab.

36
Benefits:
37
The potential benefits of using this Google Spreadsheet template for the SLO process include the following...
38
- Because the entire process can be done electronically, no paper or printing have to be used.
39
- Because the spreadsheet is web-based, everyone involved can access the spreadsheet anywhere, anytime, and from any Internet-connected device.
40
- Because the spreadsheet can be shared between the teacher and school SLO review group, everyone involved can work together on the same document.
41
- Because a spreadsheet is being used, all of the SLO documents can be kept in one file, rather than existing as multiple separate documents.
