What's your inner pandemic persona?
Discover your Pandemic Persona (just for fun)
We all respond differently to the pandemic. For some people, fighting in the aisles over toilet paper makes perfect sense, to others, “no no no...completely unthinkable”. Clearly, we all cope differently in difficult times.
The way we cope is largely influenced by various factors; including our personalities, our learned habits and more. In fact, we are “programmed” to cope so well that in the face of crisis, most of us immediately move into a series of unthinking actions (like an internal SOP).
So the real challenge you and I face, is in taking a step back, and gaining awareness of our default responses (both healthy and unhealthy). And more importantly, be able to recognise the dominant emotions and thoughts that take the driver's seat of our lives.
With that, we welcome you to take this quiz to discover your pandemic persona and to hopefully gain a little insight into how you (and also others) may be doing during this time.
If you enjoyed it, do share it with your friends, and of course, remember to get the corresponding verse card on impactlife.sg/radcon21. If you’re offended by the content of this quiz, we’re sorry, please feel free to move on.

Pandemic Persona: Kanchiong Spider ({result #1 percent})
Driving emotions: Fear, nervousness, anxiousness and worry
Description: You are on top of things, the news, the latest happenings, technologies, medical breakthroughs and are the ones your friends go to for practical advice. But wait...throwing caution to the wind is unwise, but bingeing on caution isn’t exactly healthy either. You know the pandemic news spiral? That thing where you cycle through each one of your favoured news sources, hungry for updates, only to find yourself back at the start 15 minutes later? At the heart of this spiral is a search for some kind of certainty: "If I can just get enough information, I'll know what happens next." But of course the end result is usually the opposite. The more opinions and analyses you engage with, the more uncertain you feel.
Dear Kanchiong Spider: Take healthy breaks from the news and instead channel all your questions and fears to God. He cares for you and the peace He gives is a lasting peace founded on His unchanging character, so let Him take care of you.
Recommended Merch:Pandemic Persona: Busy Bee ({result #2 percent})
Driving emotions: Fear, denial, anxiousness and feelings of helplessness
Description: You are capable, competent and the one many trust to get things done. You enjoy being in charge and in control… until you’re not. Be careful not to let busyness distract you from facing the chaos inside (we all have chaos inside). Also it’s easy to be overwhelmed; you’re likely tired but cannot seem to rest.
Dear busy bee: Life done alone will produce ok results, but life done with God is on a whole different level, so let Him refresh you, lead you and guide you.
Recommended Merch:Pandemic Persona: Emo Emu ({result #3 percent})
Driving emotions: Sad, depressed and feelings of hopelessness
Description: Bleak, everything seems bleak. No light at the end of the tunnel, no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, just a monochrome world. Some days you’re cheery and all seems well...other days you just can’t get out of bed; and there are just more of such bed days during the lockdowns. If we leave you alone, you’ll stay in bed, binge watch on that series and resurface every once in a while (self-imposed SHN).
Dear Emo Emu: You’re never truly alone because God is always with you. He loves you, is super patient with you, is willing to empathise with every emotion you feel and wants to heal you so you can thrive inside and out.

Pandemic Persona: Confused Chicken ({result #4 percent})
Driving emotions: Confused, perplexed and disillusioned
Description: So many questions, so little answers. “What is the meaning of life, who are my real friends, what do I want to do with my life, what does my future look like, who am I even? Ah, forget it, let’s just watch videos. Wait, social media makes me feel even lonier and lousier. My friend just asked me if I’m okay. Am I okay? Am I not okay? What is okay even? Aiya, I’m gonna zone out.”
Dear Confused Chicken: It’s true..there are so many uncertainties to consider. Especially if you’re a young person, besides loneliness, there are also a ton of difficult adult choices about relationships, further education or work to navigate. You may think that nobody truly cares enough to walk with you but hey, your heavenly Father is genuine about you and He will help you… if you turn to Him.
Recommended Merch:Pandemic Persona: Pagro Parrot ({result #5 percent})
Driving emotions: Passive aggressiveness, frustration, angst and hostility.
Description: Nothing seems to be going your way. Everything seems to work against you. Just when you thought things couldn’t possibly get worse...surprise! There goes all your plans again. Life has become...annoying, some people have become even more annoying. “Angsty? Eh, I got badge to be angsty kay.”
Dear Pagro Parrot: You can’t move out to escape your neighbour, you can’t force that stranger to pull up his mask and you can’t ask the Delta variant to go away. But you can lift your hands to praise, you can practice gratitude and you can acknowledge the many ways God is working in your life. Praise takes us on a flight from angst to radiant joy.
