Overview

Theresa “Tess” Jackson has come to Creekbend, California to live a quiet life as the new schoolteacher. The secluded mountain town is a perfect place to hide from her twin brother’s gang of outlaws. But when she finds an injured man unconscious in the creek behind her tiny cabin, her life is anything but quiet. And when she learns he is a United States Marshal, Tess fears her masquerade will soon be uncovered!

When Dillon Cade awakens in a strange bed, wounded from a shootout with one of the outlaws he’s tracking, he never dreams the pretty young schoolteacher who rescued him is the sister of the gang’s leader. Yet at the same time, he can’t stop the nagging suspicion there’s something familiar about her…

About the Author

Ava Bradley has worked as a sandwich maker (she makes the best darn Dagwood you’ve ever tasted) a pet groomer (she’s ingested more fur than the average cat) and one of those people who holds up the stop sign before a road crew (lots of boring hours to let the imagination wander) but none of those jobs compare to writing the stories swirling around in her head. She lives in Northern California with her family and a small brigade of adopted pets.
Though she also writes suspense and steamy contemporary romance, her favorite books to write–and read–are those of fabled yester-year. She has a special affinity for characters she can identify with; the tomboyish heroines such as Anne of Green Gables and Laura Ingalls Wilder of Little House on the Prairie.
