This document is to share out State information in one location for everyone.  It will be updated if needed and an email sent out to coaches to notify of the update.

DEADLINES

Deadline to register for HS and MS State Tournament  via Robotevents - Sunday 3/5/2023 Midnight.

High School

Deadline to submit Digital Notebooks for HS State Judging via Robot Events - Wednesday 3/8/23 midnight.

(Please make sure your URL is PUBLIC). No physical notebooks are accepted - however teams may have them and reference during interviews.

Middle School

Deadline to submit DIGITAL notebooks for MS state Judging via Robot Events is Friday 3/10 at 8am. (Please make sure your URL is PUBLIC). No physical notebooks are accepted - however teams may have them and reference during interviews.

Please get registration fees paid ASAP via Robotevents.

SCHEDULE

We will get ahead of schedule if possible to get teams on the road home as early as possible.

Parking/Building Map

The address of Mazama High School is:

3009 Summers Lane

Klamath Falls, OR 97601

It has one entrance (at the stop light). Buses/vehicles may park in the main student parking lot. Overflow parking in the staff parking lot to the east of the building.

Entrance into the gymnasium and parking is mapped out below.

Once inside the High School Tournament will be in the Main gym and Upper gym and Middle School Tournament will be in the cafeteria.  Please see the map below.  The Check-In-Table for teams will be in the Entrance. Coaches please check in at this table when you arrive for a team packet with judges room assignments and swag.

We have 4 large charging stations in the gymnasium and 1 in the cafeteria.  Power will not be a problem. We also have a fan station to cool off robots.

Concessions and Apparel

We will have a variety of food for sale.  There will be a Mexican food truck, coffee food truck and traditional concessions.  You can also order food to be delivered to the “Mazama Gymnasium Lobby” and should have no issues receiving it.

We will have a coaches/judges/referee hospitality room on Saturday with breakfast and lunch.

Apparel will be made on site with a variety of options and customizations.  We suggest purchasing early so they don’t run out of your size or choice.

Judging

High School - Judges will begin judging Digital Engineering Notebooks the morning of 3/9/23.  Upon check in on  Friday teams will be assigned to one of three interview rooms.  Teams may interview on their own time schedule with their assigned room Saturday until Saturday 1pm. It is a TEAMS responsibility to budget time for their interview.  Interviews are not mandatory but to be eligible for some awards they are required.  First interviews will be held to a strict 8 min time limit.

2nd Interviews will be conducted at pits in the afternoon on Saturday for select teams.

It is our goal to provide a first interview for all teams who wish to participate in them.

Middle School- Judges will score notebooks Saturday morning and then conduct interviews at the team pits.  It is our goal to provide a first interview for all teams who wish to participate in them.

Skills/Practice Fields

High School will have 2 skills fields and 2 practice fields in the upper gym.  MS will have 1 skills field and 1 practice field in the cafeteria.  It is a team's responsibility to budget time to compete in skills if they choose to do so.  Skills line closes when there are 4 matches left in Qualification matches Saturday.

Tournament Format/Qualifying Awards

Middle School

There will be 1 division.  The division will compete in qualification matches, alliance selection (14 teams) and bracket to a State Champion Alliance.  The Finals match will be best of 3. Teams can expect to participate in 7 qualification matches on Saturday.

Middle School Worlds Qualifying Awards

Tournament Champions and Excellence Winner.  (We will also be awarding Design and Judges- but they do not qualify for Worlds)

High School

There will be 2 Divisions (Sword & Shield) with roughly 30 teams per division.  Friday we will compete until 9:00pm. Qualification  matches will again pick up on Saturday 9:00am. Each division will complete qualification matches, alliance selection and bracket to a Division Champion. Division Champions will then face off in a best of 3 Final to crown a State Champion Alliance.

Teams can expect to compete in 7 qualification matches Saturday. We are setting the match time for longer due to the end game.  8 alliances from EACH Division will advance to Elimination in their Division.

For ALL fields we will be using the traditional  VEX Field control system.  Please make sure your firmware is upto date.
