What would the world look like if only the buildings I like ever got built? That would be boring to many so I guess its good that buildings like this one go up.

This one is really disappointing thus far in comparison to the renderings.

it is a kind of ugly toten, but ok let's see the end. Old-fashioned too simply of the 70ies.. but who knows the end. Maybe they paint all this concrete in white to make a contrast with the black windows....

I've always thought it was ugly - even from the renderings. It looks too much like a power station or some other gigantic "appliance". I think it would look best in Gotham City.

Does anyone know the advantage of framing the interior with concrete?

It looks positively horrid right now, I'm hoping it turns out like the rendering, its not the best, but we need these ugly buildings, in my opinion, it gives skylines diversity.

I'm so suprised so many people hate this building, i think it's absolutely gorgeous, so different from everything being built in Dubai. This building looks solid, it really has presense and mass.

^^ I agree with eduardo, this building is obviously not complete but I think with a little imagination you can see how it'll look when it's done, and I think it's great, one of the best in Dubai anyway. Leave it to Foster to make another great one.

Strangely enough I've always been a big fan of this building, but now that it's close to topping out I'm beginning to have second thoughts...

That split in floors around the thirtieth floor would look so much better on two-thirds of the height of the building, instead of just below the halfway point where it is now. It just makes it seem like the building is 50 meters too tall, and I never expected to say that.

Still, it's one of my favorites in Dubai. It's just so brutally MASSIVE. I just think it would look even MORE massive if it was shorter. Now it starts to look a bit "fragile" up there...

It is a massive building. I am waiting to see how it looks when it is all finished, before I remark on how it looks...

Its a nice building but, it doesin't really fit in with the rest of Dubai.
It's more Las Vegas style...
