Conferences

There is nothing like being together with other catechetical leaders to brainstorm and discuss best practices.  Attending conferences can be a great way to find a new approach and renew your catechetical programs. Here is a great article from Joe Paprocki that provides tips for getting the most out of a conference.

Upcoming conferences to consider are listed in the events section below. It is not too early to start talking about the Atlanta Catechist Conference coming on August 22nd. Our theme this year will be “Abide in His Love. Hand It On!"
  • January 9-10, Gulf Coast Faith Formation Conference, New Orleans, Information
  • January 30-31, Mid Atlantic Congress, Baltimore, Information
  • February 24-26, LA Religious Education Congress, Anaheim, Information
  • August 22, Atlanta Catechist Conference, Atlanta, Information

LAST CALL: 2020 U. of Dayton Certificate Cohorts Forming Now

There is still time to enroll in the Catechesis, Youth Ministry or Adult Formation Leadership Certification Programs. The first class starts January 12, 2020. If you don’t enroll now, you will have to wait until next year to qualify for the 50% tuition discount. There is no better, faster and less expensive way to earn a well-respected certificate in these ministry areas.

For information, click here. Contact Bill Clarke, (404) 920-7635, with any questions on the program.

Looking for a great speaker?

Are you inviting a national speaker for a parish event? Often parishes would love to share the expense and schedule the same speaker at their parish.  If you have a speaker coming, or are looking for a national speaker and are willing to share with another parish, contact Bill Clarke, (404-920-7635).

Measles Update

With the recent outbreak of measles affecting at least two parishes, it may be prudent to consider including a request for information on registration forms.  Sample wording next to a check box might be:  “My child is un-vaccinated. For his/her protection and the health of other vulnerable individuals (for example: medically fragile, young children and pregnant women), please inform me of any outbreaks so that I can keep my child at home during outbreaks.”

The Communications office also recently provided a Measles Q and A you can read, both in English and Spanish.
