The Suffolk-based Never Ever Felt Better group was formed in 2012 with a nucleus of some half a dozen women. The group is set up on a very informal basis to encourage and enable members to work with textiles - wool, silk, cotton and mixed fibres - to make felt and felted/embellished items and explore any other textile related areas.
We started by meeting in members' homes on an ad hoc basis and, now we have grown, recently booked ourselves several slots at our local village hall, Creeting St Mary Jubilee Hall, near Needham Market, where we make specific items - waistcoats and scarves, for example - or just have a hands-on play. The skills and knowledge of the members varies - from complete beginners to experienced/advanced - and we all learn from each other. Already, to our delight, many beautiful items have been made and the group is growing in number.
Many of the group have benefited greatly from attending the wonderful felt-making courses run by Cathy of Sticky Paws http://www.stickypawsfelting.co.uk/ - we can thoroughly recommend her teaching and continue to purchase wool tops and silk chiffon from her while she is ace at giving us excellent and invaluable colour and design advice as part of her service - thank you, Cathy.
