This video and this one will answer this very question or an entire playlist if you want to binge watch :-) When you are ready to start installing ham radio apps on your pi, I recommend Build-a-Pi. Is it ok to use NOOBS?

No. NOOBS is known to cause more issues than any other single thing you can do. Download the Raspbian operating system and flash it to a SD card. If you need help flashing the card, see this video.

What accessories will I need with my pi

Check out this page for a list of accessories I use and recommend.

What SD card do you recommend? What size?

I typically purchase 32gb cards. This should give you plenty of space in most instances or for just a few bucks more you can upgrade to a 64gb card.

Can you help me setup radio x?

Unfortunately, if I don't own the particular rig you are asking about, I am probably not going to be much help unless you are in desperate need of bad advice. There are a few pages listed below that contain viewer supplied information. If you can't find the answer on one of those pages, try posting your question on this forum where other linux users who own your radio will be able to point you in the right direction.

My pi won't key the radio with Pat/ARDOP

If you are not using a sound card with VOX (ie. signalink) then you may need to enable PTT in Pat Winlink. Open Pat Menu and choose Manage Pat Winlink. Next choose Set ARDOP PTT. Set the PTT=true and try the connection again. It this doesn't work, try the ARDOP help page or forum.
