about

I wrote this song inspired by the upcoming Norse mythology themed game "Valhalla", from @killerbirdgamestudio

The story centers around Einar, whom is exiled from his kingdom after losing his faith due to his family being murdered. Two years later, Einar asks for Odin to bring his family back. The Nordic god says that the only way would be to cut the roots of Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life, and gives you a map with the location of fragments that open portals to travel among the worlds. And so the journey begins.

lyrics

I wake up to a lonesome dawn
Silence where you used to laugh
And you're never coming back
Why did you have to go

Left behind, drifting away
Desperate in an empty home
Left behind, alone here I stand
No reason to breathe another day

Let me follow you to the grave
Take my hand into afterlife
Why prolonging the inevitable
When things can no longer be changed

Misfortune took you away
And left me with lonely nights
No one to keep me warm through the winter
The seasons bring no relief

Left behind, alone here I stand
No reason to breathe another day

Let me follow you to the grave
Take my hand into afterlife
Why prolonging the inevitable
When things can no longer be changed

Let me escape the passing of time
Sooner or later I'll be dust again
So why keep this longing linger?
There is no demise for this woe
