So be steadfast as you are commanded ˹O Prophet˺, along with those who turn ˹in submission to Allah˺ with you. And do not transgress. Surely He is All-Seeing of what you ˹believers˺ do 

 

Alhamdulilah, many people did many great things in Ramadan and we ask Allah to accept from us all. It is very important that we try and stay consistent with the good deeds we were doing during Ramadan. The following are some of the deeds that are extremely important to keep up with after Ramadan

 

Fasting the six days of Shawwal- equal to fasting a year or a lifetime

Praying Isha and Fajr in the Masjid-equal to praying half the night and whole night in prayer

Continue to give sadaqah

Continue to minimize and eliminate the sins that were being minimized in Ramadan

Although the duration and intensity might differ after Ramadan, we pray to Allah to make us consistent in worshiping Him.

The most beloved action to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was that whose doer did it continuously and regularly. Al-Bukhari

We are just over a week out of Ramadan 2024.  Hope you got a chance to celebrate Eid with your family and friends and catch up on some well-deserved rest and sleep.  In sha Allah our spiritual high gained during this Ramadan will last throughout the year and may Allah bless and reward us with an opportunity to see Ramadan 2025.  Ameen! 

 

As a reminder to our community members, your ICN Board of Directors are always available to answer your questions/concerns, hear new ideas, listen to feedback, meet with you individually, or meet with you during our weekly Board meetings.  Our weekly Board meeting times occur on Saturday mornings.  Exact locations, dates and times are on the ICN website.

On Wednesday, April 17th the ICN board sent out 2024 Ramadan Fundraising Update to the community.  If you have not read it, please do so.  We want to, once again, thank Allah, all our volunteers, and the ICN community for the success of our 2024 Ramadan Fundraising campaign.  Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your continued donations and support.  If you have not fulfilled your pledges, please do so at your earliest convenience.

ICN has recently created the Human Capital Development sub-committee. One of its core mandate is human capital development of ICN’s volunteers & staff. We are looking for a dedicated and qualified volunteer to lead this Human Capital Development (HCD) sub-committee. This requires a commitment of 4 to 6 hours per week on an ongoing basis. We invite candidates with minimum 3 years of HR or HC experience and proven ability to lead a small team (mostly volunteers) to apply.
