Goblin Slayer Gaiden 2 Manga Stops Serialization

Square Enix's Gangan Online magazine announced on April 25 that it has cancelled serialization on Takashi Minakuchi's manga adaptation of Kumo Kagyu's Goblin Slayer Gaiden 2: Tsubanari no Daikatana (Daikatana of Singing Death) serialized novel. Square Enix stated the cancellation was due to "various circumstances." Square Enix will reveal a "new development" for a manga adaptation of the novel series at a later date.
The manga launched in December on Square Enix's Manga UP! app and on Gangan Online, and Square Enix published three chapters.
The novel, a spinoff of Kagyu's Goblin Slayer novel series, launched on Gangan GA in September 2018. The novel focuses on adventurers taking on the infamous "Dungeon of the Dead."
SB Creative published the first volume of Kumo Kagyu's Goblin Slayer dark fantasy novel series in February 2016, and Kōsuke Kurose (The IDOLM@STER Neue Green for Dearly Stars) launched an ongoing manga adaptation in Big Gangan in May 2016. The novels have inspired spinoff novels and manga series. Yen Press has licensed both the novels and Kōsuke Kurose's manga adaptation. Yen Press is also releasing the Goblin Slayer Side Story: Year One and Goblin Slayer! Brand New Day spinoff manga.
A television anime adaptation premiered in Japan on October 6, and Crunchyroll streamed the series with subtitles as it aired. Funimation also streamed the series with an English dub. The Goblin Slayer: Goblin's Crown theatrical anime episode will open in Japanese theaters in 2020.
