Thanks for joining Feminist Book Club! We're glad you're here.
Feminist Book Club is a collaboration between Equality Bahamas and Poinciana Paper Press and aims to nurture a critical reading practice and foster engaged discussions. It's not just for reading decidedly feminist books, but to read according to our interests and still see beyond the hero, villain, and sidekick, to debate the rights and wrongs, redeem the unlikeable characters, and make utopia for ourselves out of fiction (and any other genre). We believe reading and staying informed is an important socially-engaged practice and we invite you to join us, to eat cookies in good company, be exposed to different kinds of books, and listen to new perspectives.

Do I have to identify as a woman or a feminist to join? Nope! We provide an accessible and inclusive space to learn, educate, and contribute to discussions prompted by our reading material, which will range in form, genre, and subject matter month-to-month. At Poinciana Paper Press, we foster an engaged, supportive and collegiate environment through considerate actions and respectful discussion. At Equality Bahamas, we intentionally center women and LGBTQI+ people and do not tolerate sexism, racism, ableism, or any form of harassment. Poinciana Paper Press and Equality Bahamas not tolerate violence, intimidation, or exclusion through words and actions.
