The last time the path of annularity crossed parts of the continental U.S. was in 2012. The next time won't be until 2046, and it won't reach nearly as far.
This is "game 1" of the solar eclipse double-header. Don't miss game 2, the TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE (click here) crossing the U.S. on 08 April 2024!
In California, only a tiny northeastern portion will see annularity (see path above or this clickable map), but the rest of the state will get a partial eclipse! (An awesome sight, particularly if you've never seen one.) In fact, nearly ALL of North, Central, and South America sees this October's event!
