VIEW SAFELY!

GREAT AMERICAN ECLIPSE 2017

USE PROPER EYE PROTECTION!

21 August 2017

The first time in 38 years that the path of totality from a solar eclipse includes parts of the continental U.S.

The first time in 99 years that a total solar eclipse will be readily observable by people in the continental U.S. from coast to coast!!

Where will you be? All of North America sees an eclipse! Don't miss it!
(What is an eclipse and what's going on with this? Go here.)

Your proximity to the center line dictates how much of the solar disk you'll see covered: closer to the center line = more of the disk covered. What will you see from your location? Go here.

While none of California will see totality (see map below), everyone will get a partial eclipse (still spectactular!).

What will you see from Oceanside, CA? Approximately 60% coverage at maximum eclipse. Go here for more information and an animation.
