NOW AVAILABLE AS A PRINT ON DEMAND PUBLICATION IN A COMBINED VOLUME WITH DUCKPAC 1+2.
(Note: PDF purchases of this volume are for DuckPac Book 1 only.)

The Antelope Lancers are gone sir and the Bell Temple cavalry is in tatters. It was the ducks sir! Feathery little bastards hiding in the water and reeds, slitting the mounts bellies as they rode past. I thought General Fazzur had done away with ‘em all but looks like Starbrow managed to get some of the cowardly freaks to fight. The Char-un heavy cavalry will finish the job though sir and the island will be ours!

Love or hate ducks as you will, but never underestimate them.
That would be a costly mistake (just ask the surviving members of the Imperial cavalry that took part in the Battle of Dangerford!)

DuckPac - A Companion to the Durulz Tribe and Ducks of Dragon Pass.

Book 1: Lore, Legends & Myths is the first in a series of four publications by Legion Games focusing on one of Dragon Pass’ most iconic races, the Ducks.

This volume serves as an introduction to the Durulz Tribe of Duck Vale in the southwestern corner of the Kingdom of Sartar and provides a view of the tribe and race including:

  • The origins of the Ducks (according to the Durulz).
  • Information on Durulz culture, society, family life and traditions.
  • Notes on the infamous Duck Hunts of the Lunar Occupation of Sartar.
  • A gazetteer of Duck Vale and its surrounds

Illustrated throughout with new artworks specifically commissioned for the DuckPac series, Book 1: Lore, Legends & Myths provides a primer for both the gamemaster and player interested in interacting with the tribe or playing a duck adventurer.

"DuckPac is brilliant, a cohesive, sensitive, and sometimes tongue-in-cheek examination of what arguably is Glorantha's most iconic species. It's a 'must have.'"
Andrew Logan Montgomery, author of the Six Seasons in Sartar trology.

Other publications in this series will include

  • DuckPac - Book 2: Duck Adventurers – A fully detailed guide to creating your own Duck Player Characters.
  • DuckPac - Book 3: Redfeather Dreaming – A SoloQuest or one-to-one adventure for new Duck characters set in the Upland Marsh.
  • DuckPac Book 4: Vol 1. The Quackford Terror & other stories [coming soon] – A set of standalone and linked scenarios, encounters and plot seeds for the gamemaster to run for Duck adventurers and their closest of companions.
  • DuckPac Book 4: Vol 2. The Broken Sword & other stories [coming soon] – A set of standalone and linked scenarios, encounters and plot seeds for the gamemaster to run for Duck adventurers and their closest of companions.

The Age of Heroes is upon us.

Will the Ducks step forward or cower in their huts?
That is up to you to decide.

Yes that's correct. We opted to combine the two PDFs into a more substantial hardbeak version.

Is the printed version specifically & only the 2-book combo?
Is there any option for separate volumes?

This was very nicely done, a worthy addition to the Corpus of Durulz Lore. Although I might have wished to see some acknowledgement of the Duck material in RuneQuest Adventures Fanzine (such as the Redfeather Plague) or Tales of the Reaching Moon (the Anas Clan), I LOVE how the one-line myth about Vadrus chopping up Eurmal, was expanded into a full-on origin story for the durulz.

I note that the Local Gazetteer leaves out Duck Point, Yellowfeather Isle, Gahagor's Dock, Man Vill (which I have always assumed to be a small human "tributary clan" of the durulz tribe), and other places, I assume those will be covered somewhere in Books 2-5.

A single complaint - it would have been nice if the map on page 48 had included ALL the locations described in the text, such as The Goose Bumps, Old Elf Ruin, The Ruin on the Stream, Redfeather Safe, and the like. Perhaps v3 can include an updated map - unless such a one is in Book 2-5, which I haven't seen yet. Or perhaps as support material...See more

The Epub download doesn't work, and all the non pdf options seem too small for the book.

Hi Chad,
We sincerely hope so.
The guidelines in place require a publication to reach Electrum best-seller status before Print on Demand versions are give then go ahead.
I suspect that this won't happen at least until all of the volumes have been released (planned for End of September)

There were a few distracting typos from pp 28-32, but that didn't diminish my enjoyment of this supplement at all. I didn't want to put that in my review, but I didn't know how to contact Forge Studios.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
