Nutritional Support to Reverse Diabetes

(more health tips)

Diabetes

Here is a collection of methods that have been utilized to reverse type 2 diabetes conditions.

For notes on type 1 diabetes see http://tiny.cc/diabetestype1

Unfortunately many people suffer and perish for lack of knowledge that illness is largely due to nutritional deficiencies, particularly trace minerals.  A very important nutrient is Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF) chromium.  It is key for the prevention and resolution of diabetes.  Nutritional historian Christopher Barr explained how a deficiency of GTF chromium will cause diabetes and heart disease, and how it is necessary to protect your chromosomes.

Regarding insulin resistance, Christopher Barr explained that in 1959 at the National Institutes of Health Dr. Klaus Schwarz and Dr. Walter Mertz discovered that Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF) chromium is a required cofactor to load glucose into the cells for production of energy by the mitochondria.  A deficiency of GTF chromium will cause diabetes.  Dr. Mertz reportedly exclaimed “We’ve found the cause of diabetes!”  Yet this information has been largely hidden for over 60 years.

Insulin transports glucose through the blood, but it just piles up if it can't be loaded into the cells.  Insulin is the "truck" that transports glucose to the cells to be converted to ATP for energy, but Glucose Tolerance Factor (GTF) chromium is the necessary cofactor that loads the glucose into the cells.  Without chromium, the glucose just piles up in the blood raising blood sugar.  "Insulin resistance" is a made up term for "gross GTF chromium deficiency".  Modern agricultural practices have left a huge void of essential trace minerals in our diet, and the lack of GTF chromium is very apparent with one fourth of the nation diabetic or pre-diabetic.

At about 1 hour 6 minutes into the show the discussion with Chris continues, where he said that due to the synergistic effect of combining antioxidants, drinking hydrogen enriched water drastically multiplies the effects of nutrition.

Chromium protects your chromosomes, but the right form is essential.  Chromium pincolinate slowly damages kidney and liver cells because it drives the chromium inside the cells rather than on the surface as with GTF chromium where it assists insulin to transport glucose into the cell.  Chromium is particularly important during pregnancy; the placental barrier allows chromium to pass through because the baby desperately needs it for healthy chromosomes.  This depletes the Mom's chromium, causing gestational diabetes if there is insufficient GTF chromium.

A whole food product is needed, and can be found in Gluco-Sugar-Balance by Food Research. (Innate Response GTF Chromium was formerly recommended, but it has been discontinued; Gluco-Sugar-Balance is slightly better as it includes additional nutrients. For a discount use code RSB5 and order in quantity and/or by subscription.)  Take three or even four spread throughout the day; everyone needs it as our modern diet has been nearly deplete of GTF chromium for the last century.

To reverse diabetic symptoms, Christopher Barr recommends whole food grown forms of GTF chromium, selenium, silicon, magnesium, B6, and zinc:

Insulin transports glucose TO the cells, but GTF chromium is required to load the glucose INTO the cells to produce energy.  A deficiency causes the pancreas to become enlarged from producing excess insulin in a futile attempt to push the glucose into cells.

Another extremely important mineral missing in our diets is selenium; the Innate Response whole food form is recommended as it is many times more bioavailable than the other synthetic lab formulations.  It is a powerful antioxidant that is the cornerstone of a successful anti-cancer protocol.  I wrote notes at http://tiny.cc/cancersolutions

Low starch diets work because they take pressure off our insulin receptors, but we need resistant starch in the diet to feed our beneficial lower intestinal flora.  This microbiome regulates hormones, satiety and the immune system.  Without resistant starch the gut flora die off, releasing circulating endotoxins that trigger inflammation and cause tissue damage.  So add some dietary resistant starch such as a green banana or a cooked potato.

On the 4-25-2017 OneRadioNetwork show, Dr. Jennifer Daniels recommended searching diabetes, dairy, zinc, and antibiotics to learn about links to causes of diabetes:
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=diabetes+type+1+dairy%2C+zinc%2C+antibiotics&atb=v53-3__&ia=web

She also recommends following her unprocessed food diet in her “Candida Cleaner” report available free at https://vitalitycycles.com. She said that after two weeks you will no longer be diabetic. Find more of her content at http://tiny.cc/drjenniferdaniels

Don't forget how healthy aloe vera is; it oxygenates your blood, improves circulation, helps to eliminate diabetes, and more.  Get some fresh at the grocery store and mix it in a smoothie.

Another important nutrient for diabetes is alpha-lipoic acid.  Good info from this glutathione article:

“Diabetics should also know that alpha lipoic acid (ALA) re-cycles glutathione. In fact, it may be the most effective supplement for boosting glutathione levels. Additionally, ALA is another important antioxidant. It reduces inflammation, enhances insulin sensitivity, chelates heavy metals, and assists in recycling vitamin C, E, and CoQ10.”

Per expert Dr. Burt Berkson, the ALA proven to provide clinical results is a pharmaceutical grade made in Germany or Italy; some of the most popular brands are worthless. He likes the Metabolic Maintenance brand.

Researchers at the University of Karachi in Pakistan found that high doses of asparagus extract had a positive effect on insulin output by the pancreas. The findings add to a 2006 study by the British Medical Journal that found the vegetable triggered an 81 percent increase in glucose uptake by body tissues. Therefore, asparagus can help diabetes by stimulating an increased production of insulin, in addition to enabling the body to absorb more glucose.

The Benefits of Mulberry Leaves and Grape Seed Extract
Another plant that can help improve blood sugar control is mulberry leaves. Murray cites a study in which mulberry leaves were compared to glyburide, a Type 2 diabetes medication, and mulberry performed far better than the drug. In addition to improving blood sugar control, lowering A1C levels and improving fasting blood sugar levels, mulberry also increases the level of antioxidants in your blood and lowers both LDL and total cholesterol.
"It just seems to work much better than the drug," Murray says. "It's just that there's no money to advertise mulberry or mulberry extract. It's really a very important approach I think. [Berberine and mulberry] are good answers for these epidemic conditions that people are suffering from out there, whether it's high blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes."

You may want to consider mitochondrial enhancing supplements such as PQQ and berberine.

Dr. Paul advises that iodine is needed for health conditions including diabetes:

Trust Me You Need This - Iodine
Not many people know that iodine stabilizes your heart rhythm, lowers serum cholesterol, lowers blood pressure, and is known to make the blood thinner. Iodine attaches to insulin receptors and improves glucose metabolism, which is great news for people with diabetes. Back in the day iodine and iodine-rich foods were used as a treatment for high blood pressure and heart disease; yet, modern day medicine has discarded this practice. Iodine is essential for thyroid health. Without iodine the thyroid can not produce the hormones T3 and T4, which help regulate growth and metabolism. Other tissues that absorb and use large amounts of iodine include:the breasts, salivary glands, the pancreas, cerebral spinal fluid, the skin, the stomach, the brain, and the thymus. Insufficient iodine supply to any of these tissues will cause them to act up. This means therefore that if your skin is dry or you never sweat you may be iodine deficient. The same applies if you can not produce saliva or have a dry mouth. Fibromyalgia may be a symptom of insufficient iodine in the muscles. Low iodine levels in our brain leads to mental fatigue and a lowered IQ. Other symptoms of iodine deficiency include type II diabetes, hypothyroidism, fibrocystic breast disease, breast cancer, intestinal problems, infertility, obesity and prostate cancer. Interestingly enough chlorine, bromine and fluorine are chemicals which prevent the body from being able to utilize iodine. Chlorine and fluorine are found in our water supply while bromine is found in our baked products, juices, sodas and over the counter medications. Iodine rich foods include seaweed such as kelp and various seafoods.

Zinc aspartate seems to increase the body’s production of insulin, which makes a valuable contribution to blood sugar utilization.

Calcium Arginate lowers blood glucose levels for diabetics. Dr. Nieper found that his diabetic’s patients had spectacular results lowering glucose when they used the arginate forms of Calcium, Magnesium and Zinc.

Diabetes is yet another disease that can be prevented or treated with the calcium 2-AEP, whether used individually or as part of a combination of supplements. During the 1960’s Dr. Nieper saw that his patients with diabetes felt better when treated with calcium 2-AEP. Their overall metabolism improved, tolerance to sugar improved and their kidneys responding favorably.

Dr. Nieper found that using the combination of calcium, magnesium and potassium in the 2-AEP form is highly effective in combating the progression of diabetes. Dr. Robert Atkins, demonstrated that calcium 2-AEP significantly reverses juvenile diabetes type I.

Dr. Nieper collaborated with many physicians over many years and his experience is that taking calcium, magnesium and potassium 2-AEP is extremely effective in preserving the retina of diabetics by restoring the retinal cell membrane integrity.

The kidneys are also protected by the mineral 2-AEP complex, in combination with magnesium orotate, in both diabetic and heart patients. The 2-AEP complex can decrease high blood pressure and eliminate excess protein in the urine of diabetic patients with initial kidney damage.

The 2-AEP mineral complex also known as Membrane Complex improves regulation of blood glucose in the treatment of type II diabetes. When treated with the 2-AEP mineral complex, diabetics can control their sugar and lose their cravings of chocolate and other carbohydrates in most instances. Increasing vitamin C intake increases the effectiveness of the 2-AEP mineral complex.

Chris Barr recommends against a ketogenic diet.  High amounts of complex carbohydrates are the most important substance for optimal physiological function, followed by moderate fats and limited protein.  GTF chromium is key not only for glucose metabolism, but also for metabolism of fat and protein.  GTF chromium is key for energy production and is used up by exercise, so diabetics make their problem worse by exercising without adequate chromium.

Diabetes is a disease of malnutrition.  Molasses provides the nutrients to break down glucose and convert it into energy.  But be sure the molasses has less than 50 calories per Tablespoon.  Dr. Jennifer Daniels lowered a patient’s blood sugar from 470 down to 135 using molasses (that’s what cost her to lose her license!).

Vitamin K deficiency is linked to a risk of diabetes type 2. Vitamin K supports proper blood clotting, bone mineralization, and prevention of arterial plaque, but studies also show its important role in glucose metabolism. Vitamin K fights inflammation and obesity as well. Good sources are foods such as leafy greens, cruciferous vegetables, grass-fed meats, cheese, and yogurt, and supplements are available, too.
