Parking and Traffic Alert: Saturday, September 12

DURHAM, N.C. – Guests traveling to the Duke University West Campus on Saturday, September 12th should be aware of the following parking and traffic alerts.  In addition to the Duke Football game vs. North Carolina Central at 6:00 PM, Duke Athletics will also be hosting Duke Cross Country vs. North Carolina Central at 9:00 AM in Morris Williams Stadium, Duke Men's Golf will be hosting the annual Rod Myers Invitational all day at the Duke University Golf Club, and Duke Volleyball vs. UNC-Wilmington at 3:00 PM in Cameron Indoor Stadium.  Please review the information below and leave extra time in your travels to avoid delays.

DUKE CROSS COUNTRY PARKING INFORMATION
General Public Parking for Cross Country – Guests attending the Duke Cross Country meet can find general public parking on a first-come, first-serve basis at the Jogging Trail Lot on NC 751/Cameron Blvd beginning at 7:00 AM. There is a $10 charge to park – CASH ONLY.  Click here for driving directions for the Jogging Trail Lot.

General Public Parking for Persons with Disabilities for Cross Country – Guests with disabilities attending the Duke Cross Country meet can find accessible parking in the Whitford Lot located on Whitford Drive off of Science Drive from 7:00 – 9:30 AM. An accessible drop-off and pick-up point for Morris Williams Stadium is located on Whitford Drive outside the Brandaleone Family North Gate of Morris Williams Stadium.  If guests are staying on campus for other events, all vehicles without Iron Duke Football Parking Permits must be moved following the meet to football general public parking for persons with disabilities in the Blue Zone Lots on Wannamaker Drive off of Duke University Road by 12:00 PM.  There is a $10 charge to park – CASH ONLY.  Click here for driving directions to the Whitford Lot.

DUKE MEN'S GOLF PARKING INFORMATION
General Public Parking and Parking for Persons with Disabilities for Men's Golf – Guests attending the Rod Myers Invitational can find general public and general public parking for persons with disabilities at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club located at 3001 Cameron Blvd.  Click here for driving directions to the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club.

DUKE VOLLEYBALL PARKING INFORMATION
General Public Parking for Volleyball – Guests attending the Duke Volleyball game can find general public parking on a first-come, first-serve basis in the Football Game Day General Public Parking Lots. The Duke University Road Lots on Duke University Road will be open from 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM.  The Large Circuit Lot on Circuit Drive and Research Drive Garage (PG9) on Research Drive will open at 2:00 PM.  There is a $10 charge to park – CASH ONLY.  Click here for driving directions to all Football Game Day General Public Lots.

General Public Parking for Persons with Disabilities for Volleyball – Guests with disabilities attending the Duke Volleyball game can find accessible parking in the Blue Zone B-2, B-4, and B-6 Lots on Wannamaker Drive off of Duke University Road.  The Blue Zone Lots open at 6:00 AM and ADA lift-equipped van service begins at 2:00 PM.  There is a $10 charge to park – CASH ONLY.  An accessible drop-off point is available in the Blue Zone with guests using the van service for transportation to Cameron Indoor Stadium.  Click here for driving directions to the Blue Zone Lots.

DUKE FOOTBALL TRAFFIC ALERTS
Traffic Checkpoints – For all Duke Football home games, checkpoints are set-up on the roads surrounding campus to keep only necessary traffic on the interior roads of campus.  Checkpoints will become active at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 12th.  All Iron Duke Football Parking Permit holders must have their permits hanging from their rearview mirror as they approach for access at these checkpoints and their designated lots.

Checkpoints are located at the following intersections:
•    NC 751/Cameron Blvd. and Science Drive
•    NC 751/Cameron Blvd. and Duke University Road
•    Duke University Road and Chapel Drive
•    Duke University Road and Towerview Road
•    Erwin Road and Towerview Road

Duke University Road Closure – For all Duke Football home games, Duke University Road is closed to all traffic except Iron Duke Football Parking Permit holders between Anderson Street and NC 751/Cameron Blvd.  On Saturday, September 12th, the closure will begin at 2:00 PM and re-open to all traffic at 6:00 PM.  Duke University Road will close again from approximately 9:30 PM until 11:30 PM.

Towerview Road One-Way Traffic from Science Drive to Towerview Roundabout – Due to active construction on Towerview Road near Union Drive, traffic in this area of Towerview Road will be restricted to one lane.  Beginning at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 12th, Towerview Road will be limited to one-way traffic heading east on Towerview Road from Science Drive to the roundabout at Wannamaker Drive.  Traffic flow restrictions will end at approximately 11:30 PM.  Outside these restricted traffic times, temporary traffic lights will control vehicle flow through the impacted area.

Towerview Road Closure from Card Gym Lot to Towerview Roundabout – Due to high pedestrian traffic, Towerview Road will be closed from the entrance of the Card Gym Lot to the roundabout at Wannamaker Drive.  The closure will begin at 2:00 PM and end at 6:30 PM.

No Thru Traffic from Frank Bassett Drive to Grounds Lot – Due to construction outside the West Gate of Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium, there is no thru traffic from Frank Bassett Drive to the Grounds Lot.  All Iron Duke Football Parking Permit holders for the Grounds Lot must enter and exit the lot from NC 751/Cameron Blvd.

751 Lot Entry/Exit from Science Drive – Due to parking garage construction, there is no longer an exit gate to the 751 Lot to NC 751/Cameron Blvd.  All Iron Duke Football Parking Permit holders for the 751 Lot must enter and exit the lot from Science Drive.

I-40/I-440 Construction – The I-40/I-440 area of South Raleigh will have travel lanes closed for months at a time as the complete rebuild continues.  For more information on the project including updates, lane closures, alternate routes and additional project information from the NCDOT, please refer to www.ncdot.gov/projects/I40-440Rebuild.  

FOOTBALL PARKING INFORMATION
Iron Duke Parking – All Iron Duke Football Parking Lots will open at 6:00 AM on Saturday, September 12th.  Iron Duke Football Parking Permits must be displayed for access to the designated lot.

General Public Parking – Each of our General Public Football Game Day Parking Lots has been assigned to a color-coded zone to help guests identify their game day parking location. Handouts will be distributed parking lot attendants at the lot entrances that include zone color, lot name, street name, and lot location relative to Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium as well as helpful game day information.  

The early General Public Park & Walk Lots open at 7:00 AM on Saturday, September 12th - the Jogging Trail Lot on NC 751/Cameron Blvd. (Pink Zone) and Duke University Road Lots on Duke University Road (Green Zone).  There is a $10 charge to park – CASH ONLY.  The Duke University Road Lots will close to game day parking at 2:00 PM.

The remaining General Public Park & Walk Lots open at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 12th – Large Circuit Lot on Circuit Drive and Research Drive Garage (PG9) on Research Drive (Purple Zone), and Campus and Anderson Lot on Anderson Street (Yellow Zone). There is a $10 charge to park – CASH ONLY.

The General Public Courtesy Shuttle Lots (Gray Zone) open at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 12th – H Lot on Yearby Avenue and the Medical Center Garage (PG1) on Flowers Drive.  There is a $10 charge to park – CASH ONLY.  Courtesy shuttles run every 15 – 20 minutes from these lots to the Duke Chapel.  All courtesy shuttles are lift-equipped to assist guests with disabilities.

General Public Parking for Persons with Disabilities – Accessible parking is located in the Blue Zone B-2, B-4, and B-6 Lots on Wannamaker Drive off of Duke University Road.  Lots will open at 6:00 AM and ADA lift-equipped van service will begin at 2:00 PM.  There is a $10 charge to park – CASH ONLY.  An accessible drop-off/pick-up point is available outside the East Gate of Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium in the Blue Zone B-1 Lot off of Wannamaker Drive.  After dropping off guests, vehicles should proceed to the B-2, B-4, and B-6 Lots for game day parking.  
RV/OV Parking – is located in the Small Circuit Lot on Circuit Drive.  The RV/OV Lot will be open on Friday, September 11th for early parking from 6:00 – 9:00 PM and on Saturday, September 12th at 7:00 AM.  There is a $50 charge to park – CASH ONLY.  All vehicles must be removed by Sunday, September 13th at Noon (12:00 PM).

Bus Parking – is located in the Small Circuit Lot on Circuit Drive.  The lot will open at 7:00 AM on Saturday, September 12th.  There is a $50 charge to park – CASH ONLY.  A drop-off/pick-up point is available at the roundabout on Towerview Road. Football Game Day bus parking and traffic map and driving directions are available.
