Aquatic Communities: Macroinvertebrates, Fish and Their Environment
The Arizona Game and Fish Department and Arizona Project Wet are teaming up to offer an exciting new educator workshop. Join us as we explore the aquatic communities found along the Verde River. We will study key aspects of the habitat, such as water quality and macroinvertebrates, while also learning about invasive and native species. Participants will also have the opportunity to try their hand at fly-fishing and apply their understanding of the ecosystem.

The workshop will take on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Dead Horse Ranch State Park in Cottonwood. Workshop will begin at 8am and will last until 4pm, with an option to continue fishing until 5pm.

The workshop is free. However, there is a $7 per vehicle fee to enter the park.

Space is limited and registration is required. Registration does not guarantee participation. Spots will be filled on a "first to register" basis. If all spots are filled, additional registrations will be added to a waiting list. All accepted participants will receive additional details as we get closer to the program.

All educators are welcome to register. However, content will be geared toward upper elementary grades and above.

All participants will receive a certificate for 7 hours of continuing education credit. Participants will be responsible for bringing their own lunch.
