The Diversity & Inclusion Working Group focuses on ensuring WoAA as an organization is a place that is welcoming for all who are interested in our mission of making aerospace a more inclusive field. The working group ensures the board is held accountable in maintaining a truly representative space during events and outreach. The D&I working group also advises the WoAA board and WoAA chapters on ways to address intersectionality and its impacts on members.

Meets every other Wednesday, 7:30-8:30 PM US Eastern Time

The design committee is working to create a new website for WoAA. We primarily work on Wix to discuss Website styles/templates and update website content. After the completion of the website, the design team will also work on the branding of the WoAA national chapter.

Meeting times are decided via When2meet (often Saturdays at 7 PM US Eastern Time)

The Member Advancement subcommittee collects and distributes information to members regarding scholarships, fellowships, and internship/employment opportunities, distributes information regarding resources such as GRE prep, and ensures information is accessible to all members of WoAA

Meets every other Tuesday from 9-10 PM US Eastern Time

The Professional/Industry subcommittee is working to establish a WoAA group for all AIAA members, including professionals; this includes working with AIAA sections to host WoAA events in different cities across the country, building a mentoring program between young professionals, mid-career professionals, and experienced engineers and managers in the field. Note this is different from the professional development subcommittee because it focuses on recent graduates, young professionals, and all other industry members in AIAA (but both students and professionals are needed in both subcommittees).

Help with running the WoAA social media! We have public pages for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn. Additionally, we have a Facebook group and AIAA Engage site for our members. We need help with our weekly #TrailblazerTuesday and #WoAAWednesday posts, as well as with adding new posts each week!
