EmmyI’ve always believed in second chances. But I never thought I’d get one.I’m a hard-working, no-nonsense woman, hell-bent on supporting my family and growing my pie business. Working weekend nights at The Riptide is just something I do to help pay the bills. When it comes to men–or love–I’m not interested. Since the day my surfer-boy husband walked out the door to find bigger waves, I knew I’d never give another man power over my heart. But one night with Cooper might change that.CooperI’ve been married–and divorced–twice, and I’ve got no desire to make it a trifecta. Being a single dad to my teen-aged daughter keeps me busy, and my carpentry business offers the only passion I need. The Posse, my best friends since boyhood, tease me about finding the right woman. But I know she doesn’t exist. When I share a casual hook-up late one night with Emmy, it isn’t a big deal. It’s just a one-time thing. Until it isn’t. And although neither of us will admit to ourselves or each other that we want more, each encounter only brings us closer to the happily-ever-after we never planned to have.

The Plan by Tawdra Kandle

Contemporary romance. 2nd book in the Crystal Cove series. Can be read as a standalone romance. I haven’t read the first book but the friendship formed were well prior to the series so I didn’t feel like I missed much although it was a lot of people to keep track of. There is a lot of background and history included in the first 50 or so pages. I lost track once or twice where we were in time.
Alternating first person POV by Emmy and Cooper.

Cooper is commitment shy. His past two relationships have made him decide he is not a people person. Emmy doesn’t have time for a romance but she’s always had a crush on Cooper. When he steps in to support her at the bar and then ask to go home with her, she decides to have that one time fling.

Friendships and family make this romantic story a lovey read. A few sexy scenes add a bit of spice. A feel good happily ever after.

Real. That's all I can feel for this story. Real. Real life. Real love. Real emotion. Real characters. They stick with you from the first book, to this second one in the series. The author knows just where to prod the characters further, and when to pull back. Both have had a rough go in the world of life and love. But together they melt the pages and make for a very, very hot ride.

This book pulled on every one of my heartstrings and by the end I was crying, so I would suggest having kleenexes nearby. I could definitely relate to Emma as I have been in her shoes, divorced, mom of three and trying to keep it all together. There really is so little time for "self". I felt sorry for Cooper, a man with two failed marriages for which he takes all the blame for them failing. Cooper has decided that he isn't the forever type any more and tries to get Emma to go along with his plan to just be "friends with benefits". Unfortunately(or fortunately), Emma soon realizes that she just isn't wired the right way to only be an occasional hook-up buddy. You will have to read to see what it takes and how it works to get Emma and Coop to their HEA. I love reading books that draw you in and touch you so deeply.

I was gifted with an unsolicited copy of this book and I am now leaving an unsolicited review. All thoughts expressed above are strictly my own.

I am thoroughly enjoying getting to know these characters and watching them make a stand for what they want. Emmy has been building her pie business along with making the Tide a hotspot on Fridays and Saturdays. Cooper is an artist with all things wood but feels he is a loser at love with two failed marriages. Emmy and Cooper find a connection with each other one night. They both said it would be just one night. Emmy says she doesn’t have time for a man and Cooper thinks he isn’t built for relationships. That would have worked if they could have stayed away from each other!

I was gave this arc in return for an honest review. In no way was I bribed or forced to leave the following review.
The Plan by Tawdra Kandle is a story of second chance Love. Emmeline Graham has went her entire first year of high school crushing on the one person whom never noticed that she existed. Then she met Eddy Carter who was a surfer boy and eventually got married. All was good until one day her decided to leave to find better and bigger waves.

Then we meet Cooper Davis who has been married once to Jolie who decided that they were better off being divorced than married they made better friends then they did lovers. His second wife however was a nutcase and that marriage didn't last long. Cooper has been going through life thinking that he was incapable of having a relationship. He felt that any type of relationship was doomed to fail because he was not relationship material. Until Emmy and then all bets were off.

When Emmy and Cooper share a casual hook-up late one night, it isn't a big deal because it's just a one-time thing. Until it isn't anymore . And although neither of them will admit to themselves or each other that they love one another , each encounter only brings them closer to the happily-ever-after they never planned to have.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Emmy made a little appearance in the first book of the series, but here we get a lot of what is now my new favorite couple – Emmy and Cooper.

Cooper is completely convinced that he is too damaged to be in a real relationship with a woman. One night stands are the extent of his romantic interactions with women. He’s got his core base of friends (in “the posse”) and that’s about all he wants to interact with on a regular basis. Emmy is a hard-working single mother of 3 kids who runs her own business and has also turned her friend’s restaurant into the hottest nightspot in town. The last thing she thought she wanted was a man in her life to muck it up. When sparks fly from an oddly flirtatious Cooper to Emmy, these two end up making a one night decision that changes both their lives.

These stubborn people fight with all their might to keep the relationship from having a true chance. What starts as a one night fling is quickly discovered to be anything but. This book had tons and tons of sizzling attraction that made this a hot and steamy read. These two were both uniquely broken and managed to mend themselves by acknowledging what could be their once in a lifetime love.

WOW WOW WOW!!!

I will start by saying that Tawdra Kandle is doing an awesome job with writing contemporary romance!!! Since this is part of a series (Crystal Cove Books) - you really need to read The Posse (the first book of the series) before reading The Plan (the second book of the series).

Tawdra does an amazing job of describing the characters and the settings in these books. You will definitely fall in love with both Cooper and Emmy while reading this book. I was so wrapped up in this book that I would find my self smiling and/or crying to myself while reading the book. Tawdra's writing makes you feel like you are in Crystal Cove and are taking part in the story as it unfolds.

I don't write spoilers -- but, I will warn you, that once you start reading this book - you will find it hard to stop until you reach the end. This is a heart-warming love story and I definitely recommend it!

I received a complimentary copy of The Plan in exchange for my honest review. All opinions shared are 100% my own.

Loving this series!! Emmy has survived divorce and pulled her life together to be a strong single mom that can handle it all. She's not focused on finding another man, but being alone for the rest of her life does sound lonely. Carter has been burned in his previous two marriages and doesn't believe he is destined for a happily-ever-after.
As these two find they're attracted to each other, strongly, the sparks fly, chemistry heats up, and they are a explosive together in really great ways.
The way these two evolve and grow is funny, and sweet. I really enjoyed reading this, and it could easily be another re-read.

I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions in this review are 100% my own.
This is book 2 in The Cove series. I loved this story and didn’t want to put it down. Tawdra is a very talented author and one of my favorites.
Emmy and Cooper both have given up on love or so they say. I loved reading their love story. I understood Emmy on a more personal level. I was single for many years with a young daughter. I gave up on love and men. Until one day I decided I was tired of being alone.
There is the perfect someone for everyone. You just have to weed through the frogs to find your prince or princess.
I can’t wait until the 3rd book is released in August.

It was the best gift I have received in a while! I read The Posse (1st in series) the day before, so I was already loving the characters and the setting, but I was in love with Cooper and Emmy after 1st chapter. This book is very well written. I can't say there was ever a spot where it drug. I was enthralled throughout the entire story. Cooper had my heart ripping in two in some parts and I shed a couple tears but definitely well worth it. Emmy is absolutely perfect for Cooper. She might just be able to keep him in line! This is a heart-warming love story and I definitely recommend it!

this was a great book. hearing about how love makes you feel keeps hope for those that don't believe in it any longer. Emmy knew she always loved cooper and at first she thought she could love him for just the sex but then cooper's daughter made her open her eyes and realize she wanted the whole package and after a long talk with his ex wife and friends he realizes what he is missing. a must read book

I love this author. I started off reading her spin off series and had to go back and read these. Her stories captivate readers. If you like a good romance novel with adult topics, this writer is the one for you. I loved every twist and turn and enjoyed getting to know the previous books characters better. I love series and this one definitely fits the bill.
