Not all journals have all content as open access. Some sites do not require a login to read the studies, some require a login for searching, some require a login but only to save an article. Best sites are preceded with '+++'.

  1. BioMedCentral. https://www.biomedcentral.com/ A pioneer in open publishing.
  2. CDC YBRSS, Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS). This is raw data for the current survey released in 2018. There is no comparative data with past surveys. They look at risky behavior of youth, if they feel safe at school, if they've been bullied or been in fights, suicide thoughts, suicide attempts, and similar things. https://www.cdc.gov/healthyyouth/data/yrbs/index.htm
  3. Crossref. https://search.crossref.org/. I guess this searches bibliographies or something like it.
  4. Elsevier Open Science. From the people who normally charge you an arm and a leg for science. https://www.elsevier.com/about/open-science. The fees are paid for by the research author or their sponsoring body.
  5. Environmental Science. https://www.intechopen.com/books/subject/environmental-sciences. 206 Open Access books and papers about environmental science.
  6. European Commission Open Science. http://ec.europa.eu/research/openscience/index.cfm.
  7. Figshare. https://figshare.com/ "Figshare wants to open scientific data to the world."
  8. Free library. https://www.thefreelibrary.com/ Focus on studies and scientific articles.
  9. Gallup polls. http://gallup.com
  10. Google Scholar. You can't copy text from all sources though, but you can view PDFs of the books or some studies. https://scholar.google.com/
