SMC Leadership Discernment Form
Our process of spiritual discernment at Seattle Mennonite Church is best served by transparency, collaboration, and deep listening. In order to be considered, please include your name. This will allow us to follow up as needed.

Please use this Discernment Form to prayerfully consider the gifts of those whom we may invite into these leadership positions. Please consider your own gifts as well and include your own name if you are so led. [NOTE: We warmly invite you to nominate any and all you feel may be gifted for each team, whether or not you think they're available this year. This helps us to notice patterns!]

The Chairs of SLT, all three Councils, and the congregation will convene with the Lead Pastor to discern whom we ask to serve. We will prioritize giftedness in our discernment, but will also strive for diversity in each leadership group, e.g. gender, age, length of tenure at SMC, etc. We invite all leaders to serve a 3-year term. People will be contacted throughout the spring and summer. Commissioning of all leadership positions will happen in fall worship.
