Stream 24: Corpses

Sudo and Blowback enter initiative time. They see his spotter as well. Sudo uses edge to move first and tells Byte to diagnostic Blowback’s weapon. Sudo moves away from the fence to find cover. Blowback fires a full-auto burst on the sniper and spotter. He hits and does moderate damage and knocked them down. The Sniper stays down, takes cover, and aims and Blowback. Spotter takes cover and aims at Sudo. Blowback takes another shot at the sniper and strikes well killing the Sniper on the water tower. Sudo considers throwing a smoke grenade to cover their position. The Falchion loses his view of Sudo and switches targets at Blowback. His weapon falls short of its target. Blowback sprints for the back of the house nearby. Blowback and Sudo break contact with the enemy and Sudo summons bit to diagnostic the chameleon suit.

Sudo has a hard time of running and loses his breath trying to stealth. Blowback surveys the area and sees Caber heavily wounded and vehicles loaded up. The situation is grim. Caber and Pug are going into the castle and security forces are swarming around them. Sudo and Blowback debate if they want to continue this mission and Sudo scans for cars. Blowback notes that Caber and Pug have made a valuable distraction and can move relatively freely. Sudo wants to try and extract them and notice a car leaving the residence areas. The car is presumably evacuating people from the area. They have to make a choice fast. If they go into the tunnels then they are committed. If they run they need to extract immediately. The car passes by and pulls in front of the compound. About 6 people climb out of the car. Sudo hears one person and mumbling close. Blowback brings a grenade out and sets a grenade trap while Sudo moves to get out of his way. A guard steps into his grenade’s range and Blowback detonates the trap. The guard is shredded by the grenade and the building is sprayed with shrapnel. Blowback throws a second grenade destroying the card and fires a machine gun. 3 guards are killed. Civillians are evacuating through the tunnels. Now they face a choice of pursuing their target or using the car to bail. Sudo tells Blowback to fire on the one armed guard in the crowd. Blowback perforates the guard and Sudo threatens a nearby civilian into telling him where Davenport is.  The civilian frightened tells them Jack escaped into the tunnels. The civilian tries to run and Sudo lets him go. Sudo senses the car and Blowback gets to the business of hotwiring. They decide to send a cybereye to the tunnels to check for their target and ensure there aren’t traps. Blowback notices a drone with a machine gun.

Pug and Caber notice the castle is cold and dreary. The halls are adorned with commlinks, various old trappings and wilted plants. They go over the layout of the map and decide to go upstairs to deal with Mirage. Caber decides to detect enemy but fails to do so. He tries again and doesn’t seem to succeed. They move up the stairs and Caber once again fails to cast it. After a third try he notices a background counter to spells. He notices a dangerous presence inside his head as well as about a dozen people below ground floor.  Finally he senses a non-sentient magical force. Pug storms off into a nearby room and it seems empty. Pug takes his time rummaging through the room (read: destroying with a battle axe). Caber goes into to the room and finds a library that he sets alight. In the next room Caber checks some of the books and sees possible signs of blood magic and records of the dealings of the church. He takes pictures of the books and comes across a few locked drawers. He asks Pug to break it and Pug does that and more. Speed Reading the ledger Caber notices inconsistencies about the documentation for compound children. Someone might have been killing the children for some reason. Searching for the whereabouts of Jack they see he has been sent to the rehabilitation shack for punishment.

Caber notices something on his fingers and looks for hidden passages. They look at several other rooms and find a tumbler glass and Caber astrally perceives the castle and the area is awash in blood red negative emotions, mainly anger, and the epicenter is one floor up. The two go up and Caber orders Pug to blow out the wall with his assault cannon while he goes behind cover. Pug fires at the wall and cleaves through the stones making a hole. The peer through to the library and see a metallic silver mirror and two children staring back. Caber notices a large amount of focused mana and suddenly he notices that a dark shadow stirs in the corner. There is a spirit and Caber sees its shroud disappear. To Pug he sees a human walk forward. Pug is shocked by the appearance of the spirit but otherwise stands his ground. Caber steels his nerves despite the terror gripping him. It’s Mirage finally. Mirage orders the boy child to kill himself and the child complies grabbing a knife and driving it towards his windpipe….

Mirage orders the other child to protect him with his life. The two take aim at Mirage and fire. Pug’s cannon smashes Mirage and makes the side of his gut explode quickly ending the stun. Caber then slips on some gore and falls while Pug looks over Mirage’s body. They hear a gurgling and the other kid is possessed by Mirage. He tries to compel Pug and Caber to shoot themselves but fails and Pug brings his axe down on the child killing him instantly. Pug then attacks the other kid and they enter combat. The other child wakes up possessed by Mirage and orders once again for Pug to kill himself. This time Pug complies and shoots the assault cannon at his crotch and passes through his Torso. Caber misses a shot at point blank and Pug fires on the child and splatters him. They leave combat.

They argue for a time and Pug fires off six rounds at Mirage’s body reducing it to bloody chunks and causing a fire downstairs in addition to the one from the library. Pug then hacks at the mirror with his axe and a deafening crack sounds, the walls of the castle are warped, something is drawing Pug into the mirror. An astral rift opens and Pug and Caber are flung against the wall by the force of it. Pug is knocked unconscious and Caber listens to it echo through the room.

Caber goes to Pug and sees he is unconcious. He decides to get Pug a shot of Jazz to get him awake enough to leave the area. He then punches Pug’s wound and then sets Pug’s beard on fire and wakes him up. Pug and Caber try to run out. Pug sees someone waving at him next to a jeep and Caber doesn’t notice much happening. Pug rushes out and gunfire meets him which stuns him into unconsciousness.  Shots ricochet off of stones next to Caber and he has a decision to make. Caber decides to run remembering Pug left him to the thugs to be attacked. He decides to try and squirm through the tight space. A guard fires on Caber and he flies back into the castle. Caber peeks out to see what is happening and a guard outside fires on him hitting him. Caber peeks through the curtains and the guards attack him. One misses and one hits but doesn’t hurt him much. Caber runs to the first floor leaving Pug. Caber goes to the window and casts control thoughts on the new guard that joined the others. He, unfortunately, falls unconscious.

Sudo and Blowback have a drone baring down on them and Blowback warns him about it and takes cover behind the jeep. Sudo runs and tries to go down the ladder to the tunnels. The drone fires on Blowback behind the van but misses. Sudo uses resonance veil to try and sabotage the drones altimeter to send it crashing into the ground. Sudo succeeds at doing so but the drone switches from automatic to manual control. Sudo gets a feed from Pug’s commlink and gets caught up on events with Pug and Caber. He finds Mirage’s corpse among the pictures. With both underground Blowback pulls the tunnel’s cover over them and Sudo invokes Grue to brick the drone. Grue infects the drone and easily overwhelms its defenses crushing it. Sudo and Blowback debate what to do about picking up Pug and Caber. During their talk they see a incorporeal version of the Celt. She offers to help the two to rescue them. Blowback moves to bug out from the run and leave Caber and Pug to their fates. Sudo isn’t ready to give up yet. He reaches for a nearby power cable and checks the door system for Pug, Caber, and Jack Davenport. They decide to try and reach Jack and extract him and Celt offers her aid as she can. They see someone guarding the bottom of the tunnel and Sudo draws his pistol and takes aim. Suddenly the guard flops to the ground without explanation. They agree to bug out if it gets too difficult to get Jack and continue. They note another guard and Blowback fires on the guard. The bullets hit critical and detonate into his back instantly killing him. The rounds make the low murmur of the people in the tunnel doors fall silent. Sudo listens intensely and hears the sound of worried murmurs and cocking pistols. Blowback tries to intimidate them into giving up Davenport and they refuse firing at the door. Sudo then tries his hand at intimidation and still they refuse.

After they refused both times Sudo opens the door with a hack and Blowback throws a flashbang into the room. Blowback finds Jack barely alive on the floor and unconscious on the floor. Sudo takes up position on the door while Blowback tries to pick him up. The Celt takes a levitation to Jack to help them move. They move Jack up the ladder and check around for danger. At the top they debate leaving Pug and Caber and decide to move and leave them behind.

Suddenly Celt appears and speaks to them about how she was returning to her body only to find it is gone. Somebody has taken her body and she can not sustain her form. She then fades into nothingness. Sudo and Blowback pile into the car and run off to the road.

The two go off and warn Jeremy about the circumstances and Sudo wants Blowback to take him to a safehouse for delivery and he will get Jack to the right people. The two decide to call in favors to get themselves far away from the fire. Sudo and Blowback destroy their commlinks and erase their trails as best as they can. They call in favors to get new identities and getting far away from the isles. They also try to find rumors about their fallen comrades. Both Caber and Pug are being held in an underground facility somewhere with possible experiments being conducted.

Stream 23: A Bridge Too Far

The group wake up back at the barn and Pug once again goes off in search of runners for his game. He finds an old soy dispenser and a low level runner which he hauls back to the barn. More importantly Sudo tells Caber the results of his cookie on the couples commlink. They did have weapons and directly contacted Mirage. He doesn’t know the contents of the message but they also now have a direct link to one of his links that they could use to track him and potentially kill him. This also has the unfortunate effect that their face is potentially compromised if he wishes to infiltrate the compound. To counter this Caber contacts Jake to bring him a disguise kit to try and hide his appearance. Blowback is down from his fatigue and Sudo tries to reconfigure the machine settings and repair the machine but decides not to fiddle with it until Blowback is awake.

After Blowback wakes up Sudo tells him about the soy machine and asks if he can rig it to lock Pug out of it. Suddenly Sudo picks up an A/V signal coming from the medkit. Glenn having provided the medkit shows he is likely in league with the church. Sudo warns the others and Blowback gets his jammer helm on it. They search it and find a tiny camera lense on it. They decide what to do with this new information and that it might have ID’d all of them by now. Blowback considers using it for counter intel but it maybe too late. Looking back over the kit he notices vials with substances different than normal. The group considers their medkit is compromised and looks to use the other medkit to scan what the substance in the vials are.

The group decides to cut out of the barn since Glenn gave it to them and hide somewhere else since he seems connected to the church. Sudo suggests rigging a trap for anyone that follows and Caber is eager to leave. Sudo also wants to create a spoofed feed to fool the cameras. They consider making flashbangs to trap the place and take captives. Blowback and Caber are in favor of blowing the entire place up but Sudo wants to take captives. They also look to doctor the footage to put the blame on someone else. Blowback also considers making the footage seem like the explosion kills them and having Caber make them police uniforms to help the infiltration.

Sudo looks over acting lessons and sends it off to the group. Caber is worried about the risk of being compromised. They decide to pretend like police preparing a raid of the compound and while waiting they will act as normal to throw off suspicion. After they set their plan in motion Caber orders the LoneStar uniforms from Jake and Blowback starts preparing the trap to bring the barn and house crashing down on any potential enemies. As they prepare they also decide they could set up the trap to go off as they start their attack. Pug points out that that plan will put the compound on high alert. They decide to let Celt’s distraction give them some clearance as well as just their explosive trap. While waiting for the uniforms Sudo will go about editing the video feed while Blowback lays down explosives. Sudo also takes a sweep of the area and the group prepares to go to the next house. Pug tries to take the soy machine with him and the group prepare to move to the next house.

Moved over to the other house the group quickly try to move things into the windows to try and block the outside. The group decide to cancel the uniform order and Sudo goes to monitor the road from the camp and calls up Rebecca. He wants to contact the family to get more money out of the contract. Sudo requests 20K extra for the job. The family decide to pay up an extra 40K to ensure his safety. Sudo suggests Caber contact Celt and set up their plan. Their plan is likely to set off an explosion at the old house and let that be the cue to Celt to start her work so they can infiltrate in the confusion. Caber summons an air spirit to send Celt the message of their plan. Blowback prepares to go to the oak tree with Caber to get a chameleon suit. Sudo is on overwatch for anyone moving up the way.

BLowback and Caber go to the oak tree and wait for Celt to arrive. The Celt is trying to trip their northern defenses and draw their security forces to the perimeter. She’ll start the distraction within a few hours and they better be ready or wait for their explosions to go off first. Blowback asks what she gets out of the deal and Celt admits that Mirage’s powers have repressed the area and made it hard to look out for the forest.

They have 6 to 8 hours before they put their plan into motion. Sudo has to ready the footage to make it look like they are gearing up to hit the compound. Sudo and Grok finish the file and the Chameleon suit is delivered. They all lock and load for battle. The idea is to split into two teams for the distraction.

Sudo and Blowback are splitting into a team and Caber and Pug into another. Blowback and Sudo go to the lookout point. As they are almost there the explosives go off and they prepare to go into the compound. Caber drives up to the south of the compound and is going up on the gates to the compound. He drives through to the north with security noticing him. At the third gate the group begins their assault. Pug blows the gate open with his assault cannon and kills a guard. The other guards begin firing at the van, hitting Pug on his helmet, as Caber drives through. They drive into the compound and to another gate they try to ram. Pug fires at a soldier in the watch tower. He shakes the tower but doesn’t kill the guard. The guard fires at the van and while dodging Caber hits a curb, bends the wheel, and goes down into the river. Caber is thrown out of the front of the van and into the river where his arm is crushed under the van. His arm is completely crushed and Pug is flung out the back of the van and rolls out ready to fight.

Sudo and Blowback reach the perimeter fence and start snipping the fence up. The fence is electric but his tools are insulated against the shock. Sudo moves to sneak into the camp. Caber and Pug begin combat as security forces converge on the van’s location. Pug punched the tower to bring it down and the guard is knocked down and falls into the river. Caber tries to rip the arm off from his body to free it from the van. Pug charges forward to attack the castle and Caber struggles to get up and chase him down but he fails and crawls down the way. They run forward into more new dawn members. Pug throws a grenade at the car and destroys the car, injures one of the guards and spews burning fuel onto another burning the guard alive. The other guard, seeing his ally burning alive, retreats into the forest. Caber tries to heal himself and makes a little progress. Pug moves to attack another guard with his assault rifle and barely misses.  Sudo and Blowback are busy moving through the compound and Blowback sees a sniper tower that needs to go down. Blowback tries to pry the fence open so sudo can reach the power to try and turn it off. Pug runs up and fires at another guard and knocks him down. The guard returns fire and gets hit. Caber levitates the assault cannon to pug. Pug fires again on the guard and makes him fall to the ground hitting him. Caber tries to stand and, against the pain, manages it well. Pug catches the cannon and fires at the approaching guard. The round turns the guard into mince meat. Caber uses heal again and heals up minorly. The go to the castle door and Pug attacks it with the combat axe crushing it inward. Sudo meanwhile touches the transformer and hacks into the electrical grid. Sudo fails and sends out the alarm. Sudo tries again and reboots the device shutting it down. The two slip through the fence. The sniper tower guard relocates and aims on Sudo and Blowback.

Pug and a very wounded Caber step into the main castle. The area in the castle is very cold and ancient….

Stream 22: Eye Spy

The team except Blowback gets a good night's sleep. Sudo gets up and makes a soykaf for himself. Pug follows suite and once again turns to his ShadowrunnerGo and fails to find anything of interest. He starts wandering around outside and Blowback once again says he won’t help Pug again if he keeps ignoring them. Sudo and Blowback get back to business. Sudo is worried about mages on their security force seeing Caber as well as tech overwatch against Sudo. Blowback suggests maybe using a lure or diversion to lure off security. Sudo expands on the idea using the forest to distract security measures to infiltrate. They could also possibly attack their utilities like their water wells or air vents to disable or throw the camp into chaos.

The group considers where they could go get this chemical or biological agent. Glenn is likely a bad call because they don’t want to drag him into it any further than needed. Blowback checks Glenn’s history and finds he might have been employed by Aztech for a time. Sudo checks out the compound’s tunnels for weaknesses. Looking for other fixers they find a fixer Shaman named Kelt and a rather mundane type of corporate fixer named SuitandTye. They decide to try and get one of these for a chemical. Sudo then asks the others to try and enter the Matrix host so he can explain his plans for the tunnels.

In Matrix AR Sudo shows a connection between the residential areas and the rest of the compound. He notes that they might use the tunnels to move the most valuable members into the tunnels into the unknown areas. Blowback asks if there are areas to install the chemical agents and Sudo brings up their utilities. The compound can be locked down and provide a special supply of air. Sudo suggests they contaminate the emergency air supply and causing the panic and sending the compound into lockdown. Blowback suggests isolating Mirage and suffocating him and any security forces. They look at guard posts next and consider how to track down Celt. Blowback asks Glenn for help tracking him down and Glenn has nothing. Sudo once again goes over the map again and searches for long corridors and choke points Pug could use his canon to control. Caber contacts his mentor spirit for his favor of tracking down Celt and Blowback researches methods to come off his novacoke high. He really doesn’t find much in the way of help but they suggest using a medicinal downer to counteract it. The group notice Caber focusing on talking and the mentor spirit informs him of the shaman’s location. Sudo prioritizes armories, water treatment, ventilation and emergency rooms as priority targets. They also note a general store where, according to Shaw’s documents, unruly members are taken for re-educating members. They consider this as an entry point but debate how to approach anyone inside. Sudo suggests using sleep gas to put down anyone in there and use it to infiltrate. They could also use it to raise an alarm to throw the camp into chaos as well as use the security to locate Jack. They also consider what tech they will run with and decide it is best to stay away from wireless to keep technomancer or decker attacks. They also consider convincing Celt to allow them to burn part of the forest. Caber is wary about convincing Celt about burning it off but they also consider asking for a sleeping chemical. They consider using Blowback’s tick sickness to approach. With their story straight they go off to meet Celt.

Caber and Blowback go out into the thick forest to meet Celt. Blowback leaves the commlink on to trace his position in the forest. The two walk up to Celt’s tree and see a female elf in shoddy clothing and camo gear with a scoped rifle. After their introductions Celt jumps down and starts to triage Blowback. Caber tells her about their situation with the compound and its quite clear she doesn’t like it. Celt informs him that there isn’t much she can do against the toxic magic but she can put him to sleep. Caber mentions that they need aerosolized gasses. Caber mentions that they are planning to assaulting the compound and she changes her tune trying to help. Celt agrees to make them a distraction and possibly a chemical weapon to attack in exchange for killing Mirage.  She gives Blowback a time for his high to wear off and sets up a later meet for tactics. They return to the barn and Pug once again has a reaction to the soykaf. Sudo changes the soykaf machine to make water for Pug. Blowback goes to make his own cup and Pug goes to grab it and spills it all over. Caber gets one himself and Pug, annoyed, goes and pulls up his videos to zone out. The rest of them take a soykaf and chill a while for the afternoon.

They decide to develop a plan. They want to tag Jack as a priority to locate him in the crowd. They also decide to use a drone to try and get recon of the current state of the compound possibly using Blowback’s eyes. They also consider using Zlata to drive the eyes to identify Jack. Zlata is rather wary about being put into the eyes and, after some convincing, she agrees to go along with it. They decide to personalize the AR of the eyes to resemble a futuristic sci-fi spaceship. Blowback contacts Glenn to try and get some repellants for the bugs so he can get to the compound for recon. Sudo takes the map and marks out a course for Zlata to take. The eye flies out and Blowback goes to filter the drugs out of his system, Sudo goes about on the Matrix for information, and Caber looks around for ways to track Jake.

Caber and Sudo go over the equipment list for the guards. Shock batons, machine guns, assault rifles, Aztech lightning jaguars, and other types of weapons. Blowback uses the medikit to sedate himself while it filters his blood. Zlata meanwhile flying around the compound is attacked by a rotor-drone. Zlata pilots around the drone and, while fleeing the compound, sees a police cruiser and a sedan at the entrance. Zlata came back to the compound which worries Sudo. The british transport authority seems to be visiting the compound. Sudo suggests Caber get on the roof and watch for anyone coming. Pug gets his cannon ready to engage. Sudo then decides to wake Blowback and pumps him with stimulants. Sudo informs Blowback of the possible danger and he gets ready to engage with his rifle. Caber levitates to the roof and changes his leathers to camouflage himself. They wait looking at the road for anyone from the church that might have followed them. While they wait they continue planning for the run. Pug wants lines of sight from the compound and they cover vectors for attack. Sudo wants HAL to try and have eyes on the entrance and figure out the identity of the license plates of the vehicles. He opts instead to note traffic coming up the roads to the area. HAL picks up the license plates quickly as a registered vehicle to the church and to the British Transport Police respectively. HAL returns to the spot to monitor the area. Caber notices the ticks from before and brushes them off. They decide they are clear of the danger and come away from their posts.

They go off of Zlata’s aerial photos and look for Jack Davenport. The photos aren’t entirely clear but they do get several possible hits on Jack. Sudo considers going and knocking a guard out on the water tower to establish a tag on Jack. Caber remembers that they have implants that identify them and that taking them could be a potential in into the compound. If they are to go in for more than a few hours they will have to prepare heavily. Suddenly there is a car approaching the barn that Pug sees and informs the others. Sudo tells him to withdraw from the door. A man and woman approaches and asks to be directed to a hotel. Caber responds and sees that these people are apparently not all that they appear to be. Blowback moves with his jammer helmet to block the ladies commlink while Sudo moves into the house to scan for silent running icons. Caber sends them on their way and they look at the people’s icons as they drive off. Sudo compiles a courier sprite to run a cookie on Sudo’s commlink to monitor matrix activity. Then he asks blowback to move Zlata to the gun to which Blowback approves and then falls asleep.

Pug tries to get a soykaf and Sudo gives him a triple shot of it. Pug eagerly devours it and suddenly swells up and seizes up. The soykaf machine is destroyed and Pug falls over. Sudo wakes Blowback up to treat Pug with the medkit. Blowback is able to quickly intubate Pug so he could breath again. The group admonishes Pug for eating it and warns him if he won’t they likely can’t save him. Blowback asks Glenn for a medical restock and Sudo looks for ways to keep Pug down. Blowback gets the medkit to try and keep him sedated. Pug falls unconscious and Sudo gently introduces a small timer to introduce the doop song to help him sleep.  Blowback once again gets sleepy and goes back off to sleep.

Later on Hazel returns with the results of the cookie on the commlink. The car took a gridguide to the compound, messages David Mirage, the owner of the comlink used the gun, the commlink was put into sleep mode, scanned, and the commlink shuts off.

Stream 21: Ticked Off

Put up in a nearby hotel on Shaw’s dime the intel lays out the compound as well as the security forces guarding the compounds and the defenses. The compound is well defended with guards, fences, cameras, motion detectors, a sniper's nest, and a flood bed for the river. Magic is banned on the premises and they don’t have much cyberware, but they do have heavy military drone presence. The group decides to sort through the information and Caber accepts the job, specifically paying attention to mannerisms and conventions to blend into the group. Meanwhile Pug is busy playing ShadowrunnerGo around the area of the hotel. Sudo then messages Blowback for a chat at the hotel’s bar.

Sudo and Blowback meet at the hotel for a pint of beer and to apologize for his behavior for the past few days. Sudo admits that he’s been off for a while and the idea of ownership is difficult for him to grasp, especially in terms of information, items, and knowledge in the Matrix. He says he is trying to communicate better and that if he crosses a line he wants Blowback to tell him. Blowback admits that the team has been having friction between them in the team. Sudo also apologizes for the problem with Zlata also but points out she could just be deactivated at any time. They make amends and go back to their rooms.

Caber finishes the first book and starts scanning the 2nd book and the notes. The first one is a rundown of the aspects of the cult and the second one is more motivational and engaging. The notes are the real gems however and give more concrete evidence. Blowback goes back to his room and starts maintaining his weapons. Pug continues to play Shadowrunner Go and completes a mission knocking off another runner. Blowback pops over to the van to check with Zlata. One of Sudo’s sprites won the Sprites of Iron game as America. Blowback wants to try and heal the rift between them. Blowback decides to see if Sudo can put Zlata back into his AK in the morning.

Blowback and Pug go to the bar for a beer to hang out and Pug shows Blowback his newest Runner. Caber finishes the books and notes and goes about examining their uniforms, rank, and security systems. Crusaders have a lot of access, lower level guardians have restricted access than their higher ranked officers. Falchions are middle of the road security and can access several areas with subdermal implants. He also gets a feel for etiquette, saluting, and responding to rank.  Caber goes down to join Pug and Blowback briefly but decides to go back to his room. Blowback and Pug follow suite. Sudo contacts HAL

Caber had a relatively restless sleep and bit down on his tongue pretty hard. He gets up and walks around the parking lot to try and calm himself.

The group get up and have their buffet breakfast. Sudo then goes to HAL to check on the person watching them from Shaw’s residence and HAL confirms he hasn’t followed them. Blowback calls the group while driving and expresses that they need a solid game plan if they will do this. They debate killing Mirage or just extracting Davenport. It seems the cult won’t let Davenport go without a fight. They also don’t want to get the camp’s children involved in the fight and want to limit non-combatant casualties as much as possible. Caber sees in the notes that there maybe abuse going on with the children and the group is disturbed. Sudo asks Caber to lay out Plan A. Plan A is to try and emulate the legit security forces for an infiltration and then simulate an incident on the compound to draw attention away from the area of operations. Sudo suggests pretending being members but it seems that members are too restricted to be useful. Blowback suggests posing as a documentary crew trying to do a story on the group. Potentially they could do an interview. Caber recalls that outsiders aren’t welcome and it would have to be very believable to be convincing because of the cult’s strict regimen. They could infiltrate the system and install a man in the middle to spoof their credentials.

Exfiltration will be another issue. Davenport is the main objective so they could back out of killing Mirage and getting the documents at the cost of a negative reputation. The group seems divided over what plan to go with. Pug agrees with Blowback’s plan of being an interview crew and Sudo sides with Caber for the security team. Sudo suggests that they start their legwork done before developing a solid plan because a lot of their planning is based on guesswork. They generally agree that inside work maybe needed to get a solid plan. Recovering Jack maybe a more simple affair but getting the paydata maybe unrealistic as they would be inside the more restricted areas. A more direct method would also be dangerous as they would be going into a heavily reinforced area. Aerial insertion is dangerous because of surface to air missiles. The river is also dangerous for its awakened wildlife but could be a viable insertion point.

Looking into the cult they debate killing Mirage and see if there are any ways he could have a connection with nanites or some other special circumstance. Blowback considers drugging the water supply of the compound to try and negotiate something with the group to get in with Mirage. Sudo suggests that trying to reach Mirage will be almost impossible with infiltration and doesn’t like it. The group then spitball around about if Mirage is also dead or if there is some other thing putting them in danger. The also consider using Lichtenstein to make the infiltration work although Sudo isn’t a fan of that idea.

Blowback calls up a fixer named Glenn who sets them up with a temporary safehouse to work with. The group decides to rest up with the safehouse when Sudo brings up the concern of him being a member of the cult and wants to look up information on him.

Rolling up to the safehouse it seems nature is rapidly overtaking an old barn that someone has been maintaining enough to be in working order. Sudo scans for devices around the area and doesn’t find anything in the barn apart from some small items. A number of basic hosts appear and Sudo doesn’t see anything worthy of note. They decide to get their faces covered for the security camera inside and park their vehicles in an out of the way location.

The door opens and reveals a sparse interior and barebones amenities. Sudo checks for any devices that require marks and finds none but also sees the camera. Sudo looks around for a bit and takes a sack to cover the camera and interrogate the camera for its functions. Blowback searches for any physical bugs or surveillance devices. Pug, of course, decides to look for shadowrunners. Sudo enters HotSim and wanders around to get information about the area. Lone Star has jurisdiction but doesn’t have a good response time. The most security comes from the corporate detachments that guard corp interests. The amount of vegetation staggers the signal for wireless and could be a problem for electronic noise.  He looks for areas of interest around and doesn’t find much of interest.

Pug wanders into the forest and Blowback goes into it to retrieve it. They walk into the forest and Blowback feels… Strange. Like he got a sugar rush. Sudo drops HotSim and addresses Caber with the info from his walk. They then get contacted by Blowback and Pug who seem a bit hyper. Sudo asks Caber to get them back and he grudgingly agrees to go. While Sudo is getting food Grok comes back with an info dump on Glenn. Sudo urges Caber to get the group back and asks Sudo to spoof a high level runner for Pug to run for. Pug seizes upon the bait and decides to follow Pug to the runner. Suddenly Blowback notices these green ticks on his body and starts picking the ticks off. Pug gets to the spot only to find the runner isn’t there and picks Blowback up by the throat in anger. Blowback barely misses being groped by Pug and runs back to the house. Pug catches up and swipes at Blowback and Blowback swings back. Blowback whiffs it and Caber stands back. Pug rushes Blowback again and Blowback is picked up. Blowback is about to pull his pistol when Sudo suddenly plays the Doop song and Pug is entranced. Blowback tries to break out but fails. Sudo tries to get Caber to intervene. Blowback then alerts Sudo to the presence of the ticks and Sudo goes to work crushing them. While doing this Pug tucks him under the arm and goes to the van for a victory marshmallow. Suddenly Pugs lips and tongue swell. Blowback sees that Pug might have an allergy to soy. Sudo has had enough and elects to go inside leaving Caber to resolve it. Blowback drops out of Pug’s grasp and Blowback gets the allergy medicine and jabs him with it. Blowback tells Pug to go inside which he does with the marshmallow bag in tow. Sudo decides he has had enough of this and decides to use his shock gloves to knock Pug out.

With a big *fmpff* the gloves discharge into Pug and knocks him out hard. Sudo and Blowback admonish Caber for not stepping in earlier and Blowback hooks Pug up to the medikit. Pug has a mild viral toxicity from the ticks and it might go away soon. Blowback tests himself and finds his immunity to the HMHVV is slowly burning out and his carrier status might leave him soon.

They get Pug laid up in bed and consider getting Blowback indoors to stay away from the forest. Sudo looks over the Barn and rummage around outside. Sudo removes the marker Caber put on Pug and asks him to move Zlata to the gun, who reminds him Blacksun removed editing permissions. Meanwhile Caber comes around with his helmet on to talk about getting him inside. Blowback wants to be outside but he also wants to talk to Zlata about transferring her. Zlata is not happy with the fact he accidentally locked her in the van but promises to let her out. Blowback apologizes and gives her internet access as a small consolation. Sudo goes about the business of squashing all the ticks he can find on Pug. He sends Grok off to find more on the Ticks for cross referencing. Grok returns with the information on Amphoromites, awakened ticks, that live in toxic and radioactive environments. Blowback tries to sleep but is hyped on magical stimulants to get rest. Caber and Sudo discuss the ticks and how to approach dealing with them. Then Blowback asks about moving Zlata and contacts Blacksun to deactivate the security he placed around the setting files. He does it and Sudo can now manipulate the files unmolested by security measures. Pug wakes up to Blowback being threatened by Sudo and shackled to the bed. Pug tries to rip the manacles off but to no avail.

Blowback and Pug argue for a bit and let him out of the manacles. Pug then goes to the soykaf machine and the group warn him against eating soy. Pug ignores him and drinks it anyways having his throat swell up again. Blowback just turns around in disappointment and Sudo goes to bed.

Stream 19: Road Trip

Sudo’s sprite has compiled a massive dossier on the information about Davenport, the church, and the mission that he can access at any time. Blowback jimmy-rigs the dingy (after tearing it several times) with the rest of the group looking on in amusement. The group meets around the Belfast’s main room. They debate where to stay during their time in Scotland and how heavy the group is going to roll with their items and weapons. No matter what they don’t want to spill innocent blood if it can be avoided. They decide to plan after they have had a proper recon of the area. With that established they decide to head out to Scotland. Zlata gets a present from sudo of a Linguasoft program allowing her to speak proper Russian and translate for him.

Outside while Blowback goes to get his van Sudo summons up a mono-cycle with an onboard agent named HAL that freaks out Caber and amuses Blowback. Pug gets into the back with his items and Caber brings out his motorbike. Pug and Blowback drives up (while Blowback drinks beer no less), Sudo has HAL on GridGuide and with a constantly shifting icon, linking with his own consciousness through the rigger pod. After a brief exchange of words the bike jumps onto the top of Blowback’s van with the Gecko Grips feature. Seeing a Lone Star patrol car in their rear-view mirror they decide to return to their usual route. Sudo looks through the dossiers and sees groups of former members with lawsuits against the church that are often settled out of civil court. Of particular mention is a man named Joseph Shaw in Manchester who hands out intel on the church to anyone who will take him serious. He refused to take a settlement and took the church to court and lost. There also members of the group that law enforcement wants to prosecute for white collar crimes like tax evasion. Other members are kept quiet under confidentiality clauses. The group decide to go to Manchester to meet with Shaw and try to squeeze him for information. Sudo looks up info for Shaw with Grok and Pug sends another beer to Blowback. Shaw is a freelance writer for many free publications and he seems quite vehement about his hate for the church but not to a paranoid degree.

Sudo continues to search the matrix for more info to pin down his address and find his girlfriend’s location. He then suggests that Caber try to move in on Jenette Lovelace to try and get his attention. They get into Scotland and then decide where to go from there. Pug… Downloads a new game on the mobile app store named Shadowrunner Go! And starts giving Blowback directions to their mobile stops which he happily obliges. Caber and Sudo debate where to put up for the day and find a decent hotel for 80 nuyen a night in the suburbs of Manchester. The group unpack in the hotel and they look around at the people and cars around the area possibly picking out gangs or Yakuza. Caber goes up to the receptionist and books the bridal suite for himself with Pug butting in. Blowback books a cheap room and Sudo also books a cheap room. The group try to convince Caber to seduce Jenette but he refuses to do so.

Sudo then tries to convince Caber to try and seduce Jennette or convince her to try and divulge Joseph’s address. Pug meanwhile looks around the room and sets up. Caber goes to the receptionist to ask for another room and books the premiere suite. He interrogates the bellhop on the way to his suite and finds out about Jenette’s personal life and gets his comcode. Stopping at the bridal suite Caber tries to burn the card Pug made for him when suddenly Pug, playing the Shadowrunner Go game, is trying to catch a runner and slams into him. Pug insists he open the door and let him have it and Caber refuses. The spirit suggests throwing Pug out of a window which he doesn’t agree with and Pug fails to catch it. Meanwhile Sudo, as an apology for Zlata blinding him while driving, offers to put Zlata into the van. Blowback insists on deleting Zlata and Sudo refuses. Blowback turns the van off and debates with Sudo over how to handle Zlata. Meanwhile the van rolls forward and bumps a parked car which prompts the bellhop to try and move it. He calls Caber and stops upon Caber’s insistence that he will deal with it.

Blowback gets Blacksun on the line and tries to get him to edit Zlata’s permissions so she can’t mess with any of the van’s equipment and prevents her from being edited. Blacksun agrees to the job. Blowback goes down to the other car and sees what happened to it. The other car has light damage on it. The owners meet with Blowback and agree to pay 100 nuyen for the damages. He drives the van to the car lot in the back and taunts Zlata for her newfound chains to the van’s radio. Caber tries to take a small rest and walks past Jenette again. In the lobby he sees a group of Japanese men in fancy suits talking to each other. It’s hard to judge their intent but at least one has a gun with him. Caber astrally perceives the scene and casts control thoughts on the one with the pistol and makes him drop the gun. The man picks up his gun and points it at Jenette. Caber then casts it again and tells him to shoot himself. The man puts the gun to his head and pulls the trigger surprising his associate. Caber then orders the man to shoot the other man who runs away. Caber tackles Jenette down and orders the man to kill himself which he does. Caber offers to take her to safety and she refuses, choosing instead to call the police and her boyfriend to get a handle on the situation. Caber calls Sudo and tells him to rouse the others to leave. Caber tries to wipe the evidence of the spell to reduce the chance of detection. Blowback runs down the fire escape to try get out. They open the fire escape door and set off the alarm to try and pile into the van. Sudo orders HAL to follow the van.

Sudo finds the correct commlink code for Jenette and sends it to Caber. They decide to have HAL follow her discreetly and the van pull off to a diner. Blowback decides to turn off and from the diner to find somewhere else that isn’t as gang infested. HAL chirps in that he’s found the residence of Shaw. They decide to get closer to it to try and contact him. Sudo calls up Jaime the bellhop to get him to bring his luggage off to somewhere he can collect it. They discuss the situation and wonder if anyone is following Caber and Caber runs to the bar to see if anyone is. He meets Jaime to pick up his bags and questions Jaime about the neighborhood and to see if Jenette is drawing any unnecessary fire. Jaime mentions that maybe it was a hit because of Joseph’s attack on the Church. They maybe trying to kill her to get to him.

The group debate how to approach. Sudo wants to do things as quietly as cloak and dagger as possible while Caber suggests directly contacting and explaining the situation in exchange for protection. Sudo then decides that armed guys offering protection after someone attacking her is going to seem wrong. They decide to keep Shaw in the dark for the most part to try and approach cautiously. Blowback considers that honesty is the best policy and that they could play on his opposition about the church as an in. With that established they finish up their food and decide to work on documents tailored to their story. While editing he asks Pug whether Jack could be mentioned. Pug doesn't seem to have a problem with it. They decide to call him up and, after an initial hostile confrontation, they get talking. They agree to a meet without weapons at his house.

As they arrive HAL notices a sort of long tent extending out over the walkway from Shaw’s house. Blowback uses his cyber eye to try and see what is happening in the local area. He sees a stranger down the way that Sudo is worried about. Blowback commands his eyes to look into the window and when that fails sends his eyes down the chimney. He sees the two in the house and decides to keep it there. Sudo checks the weapons and SIN of the person watching the house. The SIN shows Timothy McLain. Blowback calls his eyeball back and they walk into the tunnel. The group enters the house while Blowback circles around the neighborhood in the van. The strange man decides to follow him as he goes back.

Shaw invites them in and they set up to talk with him. During this Sudo quickly apologizes to Blowback about his eyes and about stuffing Zlata in the van’s computer. She quickly remarks that she has to “get back to commanding the war”. Curious about that statement Sudo tries to pull up what Zlata is doing by pulling an older codec file. Zlata is on a WWII simulation game fighting against another person. It’s HAL playing against her. Sudo tells HAL to win it or he’ll be replaced by Zlata. Back at the house Caber lays out the situation for Shaw and asks him for as much information about the church, the more is the better. Shaw was a member of the Church’s internal intelligence service. He then turns his attention to the kids. The leader has a very vested interest in the children of the compound. He asks about the customs and culture to try and imitate for an infiltration. Shaw is writing a book to expose the church and that involves exposing their leader named David Mirage and how he “came back from the dead”. All of it is detailed in documents by the church given to members who reach a certain rank in the organization. Shaw wants them to retrieve the documents so he could expose them.

Back on the front in the game Zlata is being crushed by HAL and has retreated significantly. Zlata is angry with Blowback about being stuffed in the van and they have a minor argument. To help Zlata out Sudo releases his sprites into the game.

Shaw offers 30K for the documents and Caber disagrees. Shaw insists and Sudo mentions that he is desperate to get them and to push Caber to ask for more. The compound has about 600 people, a missile launcher, and spirit guards. Caber wants 50K for the job which Shaw agrees to if he also takes out Mirage. Caber insists that Mirage’s life is worth way more than that and is ready to call it off when Shaw appeals to his sense of righteousness for the sake of the children in the compound. Caber agrees to hitting Mirage for 50K. Shaw agrees to turn over every shred of documents to give the group an edge. Shaw gives them the lowdown on the area’s defenses and a map of the area. Then he gives everything he knows on Mirage. A low level mage and forbids magic use on the compound. An elementary school, guard outpost, and a host of security features. They also give out harsh punishments (or “realignment”) to people who break their rules.

Blowback continues his overwatch and sees that there is another person possibly surveying the house and pushes them to wrap up the meeting. They strike the deal and Joseph agrees to give them everything that he has. The watchers take an interest in the group as they leave and Blowback activates the van’s defenses. Sudo tells HAL to follow at a distance and see if they follow the van.

Stream 18: Stern Surprise

Over their break Blowback’s HMHVV illness grows steadily worse until the group has to take him to Lydia. She offers him a choice of becoming a ghoul or losing his eyes in exchange for a very invasive procedure that could kill him. He decides to roll the dice on it and comes out with pair of new cybereyes. Pug contacted Raj about buying the Saeder-Krupp sports car that Leonid was after. It seems that Raj is doing well after Deadbolt’s attack on his lockup. Pug calls up Leonid to chat him up and offers him the sports car. Leonid is surprised and tells him to meet up with his men at a location.

Pug, with the sports car, arrives at the lock up to meet Leonid’s men. Meeting them at the GPS He meets some Vory associates who scan the car and get into the sports car. The other car stays behind pug and they go to the laundry wash. They arrive at the meet and Pug is once again met with the fame of his fight with KO. He meets up with Leonid and Mikhail  who is overjoyed at the gift Pug gave him. Leonid is surprised at this generosity with seemingly no strings attached and Mikhail is suspicious. Leonid offers a favor to him and then gives him a parting gift of fine Vodka. They decide to share a drink of Vodka and Leonid thanks him for his generosity with another rocket with the RPG. They then decide to part ways.

Caber is busy taking his brand new sports bike out to meet the magical leylines with a energy finder. Finding a strong one he sits and meditates until a voice comes to him. The spirit from the ether talks to him about his past escapades and his reactions. As he meditates he feels more of a natural connection to “F*** S*** Up” and feels his power slowly creep. Sudo meanwhile is putting out his feelers for some information regarding certain information in eco-terrorist groups. Rebecca calls him up and points him in the right direction.

In a few weeks after giving his present Pug calls up Kasilov to give him information regarding Mikhail and the nanite conspiracy.  Leonid is dubious about the information but decides to trust Pug. He calls Mikhail over and orders an associate to execute him. He considers disposing of the body and Pug tries to talk to him before Mikhail's body starts getting back up. Leonid pumps more rounds into him. Pug then decides to bargain for ZZZ’s corpse and they negotiate to pick him up at a safehouse.

Blowback comes back to the Belfast with a…. Apparently some sort of doll? It is actually an AK-97 he calls “Zlata” with an female artificial agent personality construct on it. The team is…. Disturbed to say the least. He decides to turn the AK personality off. Blowback says he didn’t expect the gun to have a personality and curses buying aftermarket AK’s. Later Caber and Sudo conspire to put Zlata inside Blowback’s AR vision to annoy him and takes time to implant it. Blowback goes to work on the metal bulkhead across the section around the ship. As he does he sees Zlata appear in his vision. She is much less fawning over Blowback and more patriotic for Russia. Blowback is not amused by Sudo and Caber’s prank.  At Caber’s insistence he is innocent Sudo sends proof that he did exactly that.

Looking at the metal plates he sees the metal plating is pushed out on the bulkhead and he calls everyone out with their guns. Sudo checks the security panel for alarms on the Belfast and Blowback uses his cybereye to scout the other side of the bulkhead. Sudo looks over through Blowback’s eyes and meets Zlata who doesn’t take to him. Then his eye fails and Zlata suggests Pug hit Blowback a few times to clear it which works. He gets a few sealed off areas past the Bulkhead and for some reason the english text turns to Cryllic. Continuing they go to what appears to be a mess hall with a bunch of decayed bodies onboard. Of note is one body that is half-naked, extremely gaunt, and stirring. Extremely long canines extends from his mouth. They found a Vampire. The eyes retreat quickly from the mess hall and Sudo swaps out his ammo for lethal rounds. Blowback grabs the AK and Caber runs for his ABR. The group prepare to engage the vampire.

Blowback goes to get blood from the medbay and confront the vampire about its intent. They feed the blood to it to try and pacify it and debate what to do with it. Blowback decides to offer more blood but Sudo is against the idea of releasing the vampire. As they debate the vampire tries to glamour Blowback into opening the hole in the wall to to help the vampire escape but is held back by Pug. Then the vampire switches to Pug and, with assault cannon in hand, takes aim at the wall. The others move away from the wall as Pug blows a giant hole in the wall. Everyone turns around to help Pug and his vampire friend steps out. The Vampire offers them Nuyen in exchange for letting him stay until night. They agree on the condition of no more mind controlling and Sudo offers the elf up as a companion but quickly retracts the offer.  Sudo is dubious about the vampire but the others are just grudgingly accepting. He offers to play a round of cards to pass the time until night. Sudo slips out of the door and the vampire introduces himself.

At night they entertain the vampire until he leaves. They then go back to the sealed off section and scour the bodies and finds some low tier equipment which they decide to sell off on the net. Blowback hears something strange about the ship where the bodies are and Caber notes it knocks off the feng shui of the place. As they debate how to dispose of the bodies they suddenly get a knock on the door and it’s David with Boaty McBoatface in tow. Seeing David getting agitated from hunger Caber directs David to the bodies and leaves. Blowback goes back to the top of the corridor. Pug goes to check on the Dingy. Suddenly David cries out that he’s been tricked and attacks the team apparently finding nothing worth eating on the bodies in the Mess-Hall. The group enters initiative time.

David turns around the corner at full sprint and Blowback opens up with his AK and knocks David prone. He gets up and limps toward Blowback and Blowback fires once again to blast his head out.

After this incident Sudo catches up to Caber and offers Caber an apartment in Notting Hill for him to crash at. Caber offers him to stay and Sudo refuses. Blowback cleans up the Belfast and buries the bodies and works on the mechanics. Time passes and the group splits up to stay hidden.

Sudo gets a call from Rebecca about a job. A particular couple’s son has gone missing in the Scottish Highlands to join a cult. The details are sketchy at best on the disappearance but the overall mission is to bring him back. There is also a small bounty for information on the cult. Sudo passes the offer onto the others. Blowback was busy modding the Belfast with UV lighting to defend against other unwanted creatures of the night and became a carrier of the HMHVV Type III. He tells Zlata to stay quiet about it and the group responds to Sudo’s job. They are paying 20,000 Nuyen for his return after 2 weeks. The pay is negotiable depending on the circumstances. Blowback is wary of which corp they are looking at and Caber just notes that they are working for the parents and not the corp. They decide they want to do it as quick and clean as possible. The group decides to take the job and gets a picture of their extraction target. The cult is the Church of the New Dawn and is magical in nature. The boy himself is about 20-ish, low level mage, and named Jack. Sudo sends Grock on the matrix to search up more on the group while Caber calls up Jake and Kevin to see if they can dig up information. Jake doesn’t know much but Kevin is able to give information on their religious platform and that he had a waitress leave to join them. Blowback is back to trying to repair the Belfast’s engine.

Grok brings out news from the Matrix that the son’s last name is Davenport. Sudo cross references his results and it appears to be Pug’s cousin that they are rescuing. Pug doesn’t offer up any explanation and doesn’t know anything else about the cult. Sudo decides to mess with Blowback to pass the time. Grock returns with information about the cult and its assets and members. Many lawsuits, testimonials, and incident reports about the cult about a civil suite of kidnapping. A lot of information, perhaps misinformation and contradiction, seems to be floating about. There are many kidnapping claims and other claims that anyone who joins aren’t allowed to leave. They also live in communes and some people claim to have left. Possible links to suspicious suicides of former low level corp members. Half-truths and misinformation abound in the matrix. They were put under the government for land granted. They also have a mausoleum set up for the leader when he passes that is guarded well. Many of the members that go seem to be low level magic users or technomancers.

Sudo brings the group up to speed on the intel that he has gathered. The group talk around a bit and Pug calls up Jeremy about Jack. Jeremy tells him that Jack is his cousin and that his parents left for Aztechnology and about his personality. Jack was a low level adept and Ares had wanted him to work with them. He then asks to be put back in touch with his parents with Jeremy’s help. Pug shares his information and Sudo confirms that he fits. Sudo tries to check the shadows to try and figure out if Jack has a handle. Blowback decides to try and sell off the pictures he took of the bodies and Sudo doesn’t find any handles for Jack. Blowback decides to jump out if 20K is all that is offered and Sudo agrees. Pug isn’t interested in involving himself further and Caber is just letting Sudo handle the intel. Sudo in turn considers magic as Caber’s field. The spirit tries to push Caber to accept and Sudo is quite nervous about the attack. Caber offers to be the face for entry into the cult and then the spirit offers him a bit of help by offering him a grid number on the map over the church’s compound. The satellite photos show children in the compound which angers Caber into going in. Blowback suggests that he calls up the vampire for mind control but Caber isn’t comfortable with that possibility. Pug very much doesn’t want to go and Caber definitely wants to. Sudo and Blowback will support him if they can.

The group decide to go to the compound in Scotland for recon work and Sudo talks to Rebecca to negotiate the price. At the mention of children in the compound Rebecca goes silent and agrees to negotiate with the clients.

Stream 17 Dead End Destination

The group enters initiative time as Periwinkle is summoned to attack Large. Large, suprised, says something in Latin as Pink challenges him and summons an Earth Fetish spirit. He then drops the barrier spell and retreats across the bridge. Periwinkle holds position. Blowback fires at Large with his assault rifle from his position on the rooftop hitting him and making him stumble over from the gel rounds. Sudo pursues Large and summons Byte. He tells Byte to start diagnostics on his flamethrower. Pug aims at the Earth Spirit and fires his Gauss Rifle, shattering the core of the fetish and disintegrating it. At the same time the rifle itself suffers a meltdown and sends a surge down Pugs arm. The Milspec armor and his natural toughness absorbs the damage and he looks at his now broken rifle in dismay. Pink mounts up on his unicorn and orders Perriwinkle to attack Large. Periwinkle charges and gores Large with its horn in his side which pierces him through and has all sorts of fluids and disgusting gore drip out. Caber fires on the unicorn with his sniper rifle. Periwinkle is knocked prone with a serious wound from the rifle shot. Periwinkle searches around for whatever hit it and charges off towards Sudo who jumps out of the way. Large appears to be completely dead initially. Blowback steadies his rifle and opens fire on Pink who was prone on the ground after falling off Periwinkle and falling under the train tack. Pink is hit hard by Blowback’s shots and is apparently knocked out.

Blowback calls in the Ares strike team. Sudo tells the group to get over to check on Lauri and then runs over to Large. Sudo brings out his medikit and assess that Large took a good amount of damage and only slightly healed up. Pug gets off the roof and tries to gather up the remains of the Gauss Rifle and the bent sniper. He jumps down in a heroic badass fashion and, completely ignoring the force of the impact, walks off to Jeremy’s van. Suddenly Periwinkle stops and swings around, looking at Caber as the first person in its path, and charges wildly at him. Caber dodges around Perriwinkle gracefully and it misses the impalement. Blowback messages the Ares man to ask their ETA and then reloads his rifle with ADPS rounds and takes aim at Periwinkle who gets perforated with ethereal energy pouring out of it and it explodes in a blast of pink sugary dust and glitter. Sudo runs over to Pink to check his vitals and any digital information with the skin link. He feels his consciousness grabbed onto by thousands upon thousands of interlinked devices. He looks at the nanites before him in his mind. Caber runs over to Pink and tries to pick him up but Pink is too heavy for him. Sudo gets up to assist him. Pink wakes up and stammers for a minute about corporate overlords and Large. The Ares commander calls Blowback back and they agree to meet on the bridge. Blowback then reloads his rifle to gel rounds and Pug is running to join Jeremy in his van.

Sudo pushes his connection to Pink to talk to the nanites. The nanites do not wish to be drawn out by Sudo but will if it means surviving and they negotiate a time to escape with him. The nanites suggest 9 seconds to escape and more would be better. Sudo suggests they move to the other side of the tracks to give them time. Pug continues to run to Jeremy’s van. Blowback fires at Pink, hoping to end him there and collect his bounty on Pink, and Caber moves his body to try and get in the way of Blowback’s shot. Seeing Caber move in front of Pink. Blowback hesitates and…. Doesn’t pull the trigger. Sudo sees the action on his HUD and then messages Blowback to fire on Large if he recovers. Then he messages Caber to move Pink to the other side of the track. Sudo sees the interest of the nanites. Pink opens his eyes and the nanites pour out as a misty fluid. He speaks something to the cloud in Druidic. Caber stands there stunned to process what he is thinking. Pink then reawakens and Caber attacks with the shock gloves. Pink dodges away and the nanites accuse Sudo of betraying them. Sudo notices Large shift and whisper “Kill her”, then he runs to the end of the bridge and stumbles over the edge attempting to escape. Large summons an air elemental to cover him. Blowback fires on Large again hitting him before he can go over the edge and he topples over at the railing of the bridge. Sudo moves to intercept him and opens up with his flamethrower cane on Large, sweeping a flame plume over him.

Off in the distance a fire spirit appears over Lauri’s barge.

Blowback tries to see what is happening in the situation. He scopes back in on Large and fires peppering Large and taking him back into the dirt unconscious. Pink waits until the air elemental goes. Byte diagnostics the weapons. The air elemental summoned uses its power on Pink to boost his agility. Pink sprints off with the air elemental in pursuit. The fire spirit looks up at the bridge and smirks, then disappears. Sudo sees the elemental flicker out from the distance and goes to Large. Caber takes control of the turret platform and fires at the spirit but misses ricocheting off the train track. The air elemental disappears. The Fire Spirit arises up in front of Large with a gleeful look. Blowback fires a snapshot at the fire elemental after reloading and rip through it, sending sparks and damage in the immediate area. The fire elemental attacks large and Blowback fires on it in a last ditch effort to stop it and hits. The fire elemental collapses on itself and disappears. The group drops out of combat time.

Blowback and Caber makes a shot at Pink’s legs to try and bring him down and stop him from running. Blowback fires at Pink and hits him causing him to stumble over at his incredible high speed. Pink is severely injured and Caber sprints off to him. Blowback fires on the Jammer on the boat and hits it. Caber stabilizes Pink while Sudo uses Lauri’s comlink to try and locate her. He turns on everything he can on her boat to try and wake her. Caber heals up Pink and Sudo calls Lauri to make sure she’s okay. He tells her to leave the boat and she does as the Ares van moves in to arrest Large and Pink. Sudo asks Caber his intentions and Caber wants to save Pink from the nanites if possible and shoot him if not. Blowback, still lusting for his bounty, wants to try and get Jeremy to watch Sudo and Caber from trying anything, Sudo then reboots his commlink forcibly to stop him from contacting Jeremy. While they are talking Sudo sees four figures in armor setting up a perimeter on the bridge.

Sudo empties the syringe of Hunter Nanites and pierces Pink’s arm with the empty syringe to draw the nanites out as the men load Large into the back of the van. Caber asks Blowback if the nanites can be removed and he responds that the nanites can not be removed in whole. The nanites attack Sudo and dataspikes him causing him Matrix damage as he tries to extract a sample of the nanites causing Blowback to ask what team their loyalties lie with. The Ares guards reach them and trains their weapons while they grab Pink. Sudo responds to Blowback that he is on their team. Caber calls up Jeremy and gets the bounty negotiated for 200k nuyen and 70k in scrip but Jeremy counters against him to the original price. Blowback goes to find the railgun that shattered in Pug’s hand to repair it. Sudo tries to get up and offer his hands to the soldiers carrying off Pink, perhaps trying to knock them out with shock gloves, but they ignore him. Caber takes the gloves and cane from Sudo and runs off to evade Lone Star. Blowback tries to jerryrig the gauss rifle back into (vaguely) working order and succeeds. The group gets back to the van and sees Jeremy who gets all of his equipment back. Sudo pings Caber asking where Pug is right now. Pug went off to a convenience store for a snack after flagging the van and returning the equipment. The vans of Ares speeds off and the group decides it’s time to leave. The group is notified that the Knights Errant are on their way and that they need to leave at once. Caber wants to go to Lydia’s clinic to divide the money but Sudo doesn’t want her further involved.

The team decide to run back to the Belfast to try and talk out the situation and divide the pay. Sudo updates the team on the Belfast’s location. Caber, never having been to the ship, is denied by the security system and Sudo waves Blowback to open it. When inside the group unequips and Sudo goes into the table asking Caber his handle and “Just Caber is Fine” is a new user in the security. Sudo asks Blowback to medkit him while Caber looks around the place. He tries to astrally perceive and doesn’t see anything of interest. Caber kicks the welded wall and asks the others what’s behind it. The group catch Caber up on the recent goings on and their current position in the grand scheme of things. Sudo is worried that they are so far behind the curve of those behind the nanite conspiracy but Caber sees it as an opportunity for profit. Sudo counters that the people who paid them are all implicated in the conspiracy. Blowback argues that they are disposable assets but Sudo suggests that there is some way to proactively work to get out of the jam they are in. They must decide how deep they want to go, if not for the money then why do they do it? They have gotten involved into some intercorporate scuffle for the nanites and are dangerously in the crosshairs. Sudo considers doing something to the Belfast to get it seaworthy and that some of their winnings can go to making it a working ship again. They also want to lay low for a while and work on other projects to try and improve their position.

They all decide to not involve anyone else about their business but Caber is scared for his contacts. Sudo would be happy about just having a simpler job but now they are in the firing line. They agree that they need to get somewhere else to hide other than the Belfast and that they need to shore up their communication with each other in the long run. Blowback asks Caber why he stepped into the line of fire for Pink. Caber wanted to keep Pink alive out of liking him and only tried to keep him down. Sudo decided to try and communicate that Pink going with Ares is like going to Lone Star but he couldn’t leading to hesitation and indecision on the bridge. After Blowback signs out for the night Caber asks Sudo about the fragment of Deus swimming around in his head. Sudo offers only a half-answer to his question and offers to explain later when he is not in pain from his fight with the Nanites. They all decide to go off to sleep. Just before that, Sudo gives Lauri a message to get into touch with her and ensure her safety. Seeing that she is gone to ground and safe he disassembles the commlink and removes the battery, throwing it on the floor in disgust, and goes to bed.

They have tied up the loose ends for the most part. Sudo checks for bounty on Tiny’s body and Caber gets a call from Jeremy to get more info on people related to the conspiracy for Ares to pick up on. Caber asks Sudo what to release and Sudo suggests not selling them the data. They also decide to use a collection of small favors to get the heat off of them.

The next day the meet with the Irish goes well and O’Brien’s guard isn’t infected. Mikhail from the Vory also seems fine but they are weary still. Blowback gets his van back and disinfects his backseat with a blowtorch. Kevin is checked by Caber and Sudo and is declared clean.

RUN SUCCESSFUL

Total Payout: 200K + 50K Ares Scrip

The team go to ground for a month and a half until the heat dies down....

Stream 16: Large and In-Charge

After Large’s ominous threat to Lauri, Sudo checks his equipment to make sure Large can’t hit him again and calls Caber. Sudo is worried about Lauri’s safety and Large’s speech about what is in his head. Caber offers to go with Sudo to check on her. Sudo sends over the info dump he got from interrogating the commlink. Caber suggests getting to Lauri and ensuring her safety first, then dealing with Large and his other threats. He picks up the rest of his gear and heads out to the clinic to meet Caber, trying to keep as nonchalant as possible. Evading a drone delays him a good while.

At the clinic Caber asks if there is a way to awaken Pug and Blowback from their tranquilizer induced sleep. He then sits back and waits for Sudo to work. Sudo sends an audio clip to Lauri from his commlink as a warning to her. Lauri calls Sudo’s commlink and he answers it but it isn’t her. Large is already at Lauri’s and Sudo threatens him with his disappearance if he keeps hounding him and people close to him. Sudo wants assurances if they are to meet. Large sends video streams of Lauri’s boat and it has a small bit of fire on the top but otherwise it seems undisturbed. The fire might be of a magical quality. Seeing this Sudo asks what he wants. Sudo presses him on the subject. Large tells him that there is a part of a “Person” involved with Seattle that he wants to talk to. Sudo is threatens Large once again to stop the fire in exchange for his limited cooperation and Large agrees. Sudo questions Large about what he may think he might find and how he plans to go about it. Sudo feels there is a repressed rage about what Large is talking about going around inside his head. Sudo concedes that they are of similar minds about this. Large agrees and sets up a meeting point at Lauri’s barge. Sudo thinks about another place to meet and counter offers a location at the train bridge near the Thames bank and away from Lauri.  They agree to meet in two hours and Sudo continues walking to the clinic.

Sudo arrives at the clinic and sees Pug on the floor in tranquilizer induced sleep. He greets Lydia and asks for a drink then asks about the other two. Sudo gets Caber up to speed on the meet with Large and doesn’t hold Caber to going with him. He wants Caber to go for his skills for a face and potentially with Blowback for extra firepower but also don’t want to expose anyone else. Lydia offers to wake Pug and Blowback but Sudo doesn’t want to wake them. They decide to wake up both of them and inform them of the situation. Sudo explains the meet and Blowback isn’t in the mood for talking to Large. Sudo counters that this is a way to finally find out more about the enemy and the fact that they could decide to kill Lauri out of spite. They glance at Tiny’s corpse and Sudo asks about tissue damage and Lauri mentions the HMHVV and their interactions.

Sudo concludes that he is going to the meet and offers them to come along, but doesn’t hold them to it if they don’t want to. Blowback offers to go along and pack his gun. Sudo is eager to get to the meet and suggests they have some sort of insurance to try and give them an edge. Or at least some way to call in the cavalry if something goes horribly wrong. Lydia offers Pug and Blowback stimulants for their weariness and Pug instantly puts it on his skin. Lydia gets another and Pug tries to grab it with the others trying to stop him. Caber fails to take it but Sudo floods his view with images of Mr. Bigglesworth, that Sudo conditioned him to feel happy to, and Caber snatches the patch away. Pug then witnesses memories about his past and then gets an intuition about the meeting. He thinks that there maybe other runners at the meet and that they shouldn’t go. Caber then decides to cast a manipulation spell on Pug. It works and Pug explains that Pug sent a GPS tag to his friend Jeremy, connected with Ares, to send a strike team. Sudo becomes angry about Pug calling Ares and exposing her to NeoNet. They need to go now if they want to catch up to ensure her safety.

They ask if Lydia has a car to go to the meet and she reluctantly tells them she does. Jeremy calls Pug to try and counter offer NeoNet’s bounty. Sudo gets a mark on his commlink and tries to counter the attack. Sudo tells the others to offline their gear and Jeremy confesses that it was his fault. He then tries to convince Pug to come back to Ares telling him his parents miss him which Pug calls him on. With that, Sudo decides to leave out.

Pug calls for a Taxi and requests a drop-off near the meet. Then a new commlink drops from a drone. He initially thinks it's a bomb and dodges into the clinic but he picks it up again. It’s Jeremy again who offers to send in an Ares security team if they fail. Pug quickly hangs up and crushes the link to catch his taxi. Blowback takes the tube to the area and Sudo and Caber take Lydia’s car. Pug gets to the meet point first and climbs up a building for a vantage point. Sudo offers everyone a chance to leave and they refuse. They meet up at the bridge…

Blowback wants to call up Jeremy for a favor to drop weapons so they could arm up. He agrees to the drop for arms and Pug hangs up (crushes the commlink). Soon after Jeremy rolls up in his van and drops off Pug’s arsenal. Pug picks up security level armor, a Claymore sword, a Thunderstruck Gauss Rifle, a Lonestar Cavalier sidearm, and a Laser Pistol. Pug calls the others over and they all meet. Blowback takes an Ares pistol and laser submachinegun with two grenades, Caber gets an Ares Desert Strike Sniper Rifle but Sudo wants him to discard it to bring him to the meet, Jeremy suggests taking a remote fire platform to set up on, Caber also receives an amulet that is a weapon focus, Sudo refuses any weapons but is offered overcharged shockgloves for emergencies. He also offers an armored great coat and a flamethrower cane. Sudo accepts the coat and each gets a commlink. He takes a can of pepper spray as well. He then brings up an audio canon and finally finish prepping. Each person gets a medkit and go to set up.

The group sets up on the buildings near the meetup and Sudo receives a call from Large asking Pug to stand down. The air next to Pug shimmers and reaches for the rifle, which Pug tries to stop, but electricity goes through it to try and make him stop. Pug then tries to stop it and the summoned fetish tries to engulf him. Pug enters combat.

The elemental tries to engulf him and Pug dodges. Pug drops the rifle and readies his sword. The elemental tries to take the guns away and Pug swings at it with his sword. Pug strikes the elemental and deals heavy damage to it and making it retreat somewhat to the edge and drops the guns off the side of the building.  Pug goes to the edge and suddenly feels the patch ware off and he strikes at it again. He brings his sword down and impales it causing it to explode. Pug drops initiative.

Large is annoyed but agrees to talk still. Sudo is angry that he decided to attack Pug but he agrees to try and talk Pug down. Sudo tells him to try and either join him or run and Pug offlines his commlink. Blowback calls Blacksun to find all the tags in the area and several things catch his attention including possible allies of Large and the Ares Assault team in wait. Blowback takes a good look at him from his vantage point and Caber sees a large physical barrier on the bridge and two spirits. Sudo sends a message to Caber to call in any mages he knows and Blowback tries to message up Sudo to get Large turned around. Sudo says that Pug is gone and asks Large to call off his spirits on the bridge. They apparently go but Caber astrally perceive one spirit trying to hide, one specific “urinecorn” running about, and two possible mages. Sudo confronts Large about the extra unwelcome guests and Large decides to call off his spirits. Blowback calls in another rifle and Pug tries to recover the guns. Caber finally confronts Large and sees Pink next to him. Blowback asks Blacksun to break into his commlink to send Pinks messages from corporations and Blacksun doesn’t see any. Sudo decides to scan RFID tags but is blocked by Large. They consider walking into the barrier and agree to do it. Blowback tries to get an employee roster on Large and ask Caber to get Pink’s commlink on.

They decide to ask Large to reform his barrier. Sudo asks Large to stay where he is. Blowback receives his package and asks Blacksun to make a distraction so he could mount the sniper rifle on the turret and to submit the roster with Large to Pink in order to try to make him suspicious of Large. A loud pop happens and Large and Pink tries to find the source and doesn’t notice Blowback set the sniper up on the turret. Large wants to find what is up in Sudo’s mind and Caber wants to know. Large tells that Sudo was in the Renraku Arcology when the Deus AI outbreak happened. Sudo helped Deus the AI break out and probably has a piece of it inside of him. Large wants to talk to Deus and wants to inject him with nanites to get Deus out of his head. Upon mention of Deus Blacksun hastily backs out of the mission. Sudo is not pleased with Large threatening him and attacking his friends and asks about Lauri’s health. He asks Pink to get Lauri and Large decides to get another goon to do it. There is video of Lauri being presumably alive. Sudo talks to Large about reassembling Deus or even looking at the fragments and how much disaster it can cause. Large says he can take that chance. Large reveals he can discover more about it and that he was born in a NeoNet facility and that he worked with NeoNet. Caber convinces Pink that Large is allied with the “Corporate Overlords” and Caber tries to get him to turn the commlink on. Pink is edging away and Sudo continues to press Large on reassembling and studying Deus. Large tries to justify himself and Sudo continues to persuade him by bringing up the lies he has propagated and lives he has destroyed by it. Pink continues to edge away from Large and Caber tries to make Pink bring his commlink online but Pink declines. Sudo continues to talk Large down and Caber hands Pink a Commlink.

Sudo is sympathetic to Large and his plight but he also hates that the last time somebody was able to be in his head they made him do many things he hates himself for to this day. Large admits that there maybe a compromise. Sudo begins to talk again and Large continues his spiel about their unwilling part in the Seattle incident and the later Shadowrun in Wales. They continue to talk when suddenly Pink cuts them off, convinced that Large is working for the “corporate overlords”, summoning Perriwinkle to the field...

Stream 15: A Tiny Problem

Tiny swings at the back of Blowback’s seat and initiates combat. Blowback dodges out of the driver seat and into the passenger side. Tiny’s hand smashes through the chair and shatters it apart and catches Blowback lightly causing little damage.  Sudo hotsim’s up, surprised seeing Tiny attack Blowback so suddenly. Tiny sends a jumps onto Blowback and grapples him and Blowback dodges over. Tiny rips out the handbrake from the van. Blowback tries to open the door and bail out from the van and Tiny tries to intercept him, smashing him on the jaw and cracks it. Blowback is now unconscious and pulls a dead-man’s switch for one final action and spits blood into Tiny’s face and eyes, hoping to infect him with the HMHVV infection and then he blacks out. Sudo sees this happen then sees Tiny draw away from Blowback, wondering where exactly he is and drops out of combat. Tiny grabs the van steering wheel and tries to get the van back under control. He picks up Blowback’s commlink and calls for help. Sudo sets a gridguide to Cargo and tells Kevin to prepare for Tiny to arrive.

Tiny tries to help Blowback and Sudo tries to access Blowback’s wired reflexes to jolt him awake. Tiny searches around the van, worried, and snaps the chair off its hinge, and smashes the bottom of the van. Tiny grabs the axle of the van and bends the axle, taking the vehicle to a stop and grabbing Blowback. Sudo asks where Tiny is taking him. Tiny is confused about what happened and Sudo says that Tiny attacked Blowback. Tiny, confused, goes back to the van and stays with Blowback. Pug goes to meet the two at their recent crash location and sees Sudo’s view on the event. Either Tiny is acting to try and lure more team members or he’s legitimately confused. Tiny asks Sudo’s help in getting the medikit up and starts doing basic aid on Blowback. Sudo is looking at the medikit and Pug walks up to the side of the van. Pug knocks on it and Tiny opens it. Tiny says that he and Blowback were attacked, seemingly unaware that he hurt Blowback himself. Sudo tells Pug to get Blowback out and take him to Lydia. Sudo tells Tiny to follow Pug to the street doc. Sudo calls up Jack from Raj’s gang and tells him to pick up the van ASAP.

They go to Lydia’s street clinic, freshly recovering from the sniper attack, and Lydia lets them in. Caber is sitting in a clinic bed resting up. Tiny follows in behind them and Caber tries to pry his intent apart. Tiny is quite confused and has an inkling about what is happening but is currently going along with it. Lydia sees the damage on Blowback and requests payment. Lydia works on Blowback and helps him heal up. Lydia revives Blowback and he jolts awake and sees Tiny, questioning if what he is witnessing is real and if Tiny can be trusted. Sudo tells Lydia to get her hunter nanites ready and treat Tiny while Blowback shows Tiny the footage of the attack. Blowback tells Tiny about the nanites and how they might be controlling people. Lydia comes back and readies to treat them and analyze the blood for nanomachines. They confirm the presence of nanites and Lydia injects him with a syringe of hunter nanites. They sit down and pass the time while Sudo and Blowback strategize. They agree to play it by ear for now and see what happens. Tiny plays with Pug on the VR fighting game while they wait and suddenly Tiny takes a swing at Pug and the rest of the group.

They initiate combat once again. Tiny tries to get up and grapple Pug, getting him between himself and Blowback. Sudo turns on Pugs reflexes and Sudo readies his sprites. Pug struggles to break Tiny’s hold on him and Tiny keeps him in the hold. Lydia walks out with a shotgun in her hands and blasts Tiny with a gel slug in the side staggering him. Blowback draws and aims his weapon to fire but the round pings off. Pug is struggling with Tiny and gets choked a bit. Pug struggles against him and doesn’t break free. Sudo orders Byte to diagnostic weapons and sends a message to Tiny asking why he is doing this. Sudo asks Lydia if there are any other defense systems and then tries to hack Tiny’s commlink. Tiny continues to stranglehold Pug and Pug struggles against him . Blowback fires on Tiny and strikes his jaw. Caber picks up his pistol from his bed and shoots him from a flank. The bullet flattens against his chest. Lydia fires with her shotgun and hits. Sudo tries to hack the commlink and fails. Pug struggles more against Tiny and Pug falls limp. Blowback fires on Tiny and hits him. Caber fires on him and wounds him, finally downing him and Pug following suite. The group exits combat.

Blowback puts his gun in Tiny’s mouth and asks the others if they have objections to killing him. Lydia suggests tranquilizing him but Blowback is not convinced and executes Tiny anyways. They wonder how effective the hunter nanites are and Lydia takes a sample of Tiny’s blood to analyze further.

The group moves to clean up Tiny’s corpse and Lydia is on hazmat duty, rifling through his pocket, and tossing the commlinks and taking a portion of the Nuyen on the credstick. She also gives them contact lenses, keys, a keycard. They request the body after it’s cleaned to which she agrees. They then catch Caber up on current events and their theories on how Tiny fits into it all. Blowback suggests dropping a security team or security overwatch the place. They also consider warning the Irish and the Vory to cover the gaps in their security. After talking it all out, Lydia revives Pug and he sees his hand slipping over what was once Tiny’s skull. He picks himself up and goes to wash himself off. He demands Lydia give him some stimulants and she actually gives him a tranquilizer so he will sleep. Caber wants to pick up his rifle from Cargo. The group warns Caber that Kevin is a possible target for the conspiracy and Caber wants to make sure they haven’t gotten to him first.

Sudo gives specifics to Lydia about the nanites and she begins looking for it. Meanwhile Blowback contacts Black Sun to establish overwatch on the clinic. After that Lydia gives Blowback tranquilizers.

Caber calls up O’Brien and, after a terse reunion conversation, they get to talking about a meet somewhere away from prying eyes, especially from the eyes of the bodyguard. Sudo berates Caber for his brash attitude once again with O’Brien and reminds him that the Irish and the Vory are implicated in the conspiracy. They need to act with best judgement and discretion as their list of allies is shrinking fast. Sudo decides to walk off and goes to the host where he can find the Resonance. He decides to attempt a Submerge with the Resonance. Sudo was online for some time submerging, when suddenly GOD hits him with offensive ICE and protocols, locating his position, and then forcibly dumping him out of the Matrix.

With Sudo now under pursuit from GOD, he calls up the Technomancer Co-op to try and scramble everything and erase his resonance signature from where he was traced. The Co-op helps him out by using a tugboat to pull the Belfast out of the harbor where it lie and moving it elsewhere. Sudo gains an Echo, giving the ability to touch any technology and establish the interface with it. After a while the Belfast comes to a stop and sends Sudo flying forth. After getting back up, Sudo hears the helicopters of the GOD flying over and to the area where the Belfast once was… And meets an explosive trap when they land. Sudo decides to hunker down in the Belfast for the day and everyone else decides to sleep to work out the rest of the night in the clinic.

In the morning Sudo wakes up to his commlink calling him with no ID. Sudo raises his defense in preparation. He picks up the link and talks to an anonymous caller with an accent. He says that he wants “Whatever is in [Sudo’s] head.” and that it could set them free. The caller tries to assure Sudo that he is not going to hurt Sudo and then identifies himself as Large. Sudo then hangs up immediately. Afterwards he gets a text regarding an address for a “certain boat under a certain bridge”, referring to Lauri Williams and that Large has something planned for her.

At the Clinic, Lydia raises the others and shows them neural maps of brains and Blowback recognizes that nanites have been resculpting the brains of their victims. Personality and motor control are changed constantly and are going through the body at a rapid pace. An electric field can deactivate the nanites and Lydia has some ideas about the nanites and the HMHVV destroying each other. Blowback takes his medicine nervously as he waits to find out what this could possibly mean for him…

On the NeoNet bounty, the dead price doubles to 50K and the alive bounty went up to 100K.

Stream 14: Insurgent

After the shootout with the sniper Sudo picks up the commlink of Shooter and runs away from the scene of the sniper attack. He tries to find somewhere to squat in an underpass shantytown to hole up and looks over the medical report of Caber by the Technomancer Co-op. Caber is in stable condition and is being taken to a care facility near Manchester. He shacks up for the night in the shantytown to lay low for now.

With Raj stabilized Blowback and Pug need to find a quiet place in Lambeth to take Raj and the recently deceased Deadbolt. They zero in on a garage in Lambeth and Blowback decides to get his arms dealer to order weapons and ammunition to the location. At the garage they run into a go-gang in the parking lot. The group is the White Lightning and is a relatively passive Go-Gang. Blowback is unconcerned and proceeds into the garage. Blowback tries to call up Raj’s men to get him somewhere safe and Pug is rifling through Deadbolt’s pockets. Blowback calls up Jack, a strongman in Raj’s circle for G.T.A., who offers to call the Irish for him, Blowback refuses them and offers to have them over to bring Raj to safety. Pug rifling through Deadbolt’s pack finds a wealth of items on his person. Blowback called up Sudo to update him on the situation and they brief each other on the night’s events. Blowback mentions Deadbolt’s name and Sudo brings up that his name has come up before. Sudo is interested in the commlink and what they can learn from it. With both appraised of the situation Pug and Blowback return to Deadbolt’s equipment and try to offline his equipment as best that they can to prevent it from being accessed.

While they are doing this Jack comes over to their location to extract Raj. Blowback and Pug help him move Raj and Blowback tells him not to get involved with the situation. They consider that, after Jack says he’ll have the Irish Mob investigate, they’ll have to square up with them eventually. Blowback and Pug consider Sudo isn’t telling them everything. Sudo considers that they should feed the body of Deadbolt to the ghouls.

While they are going through the options another knock on the door has a messenger from Blowback’s gun runner with his requested resupply. On Sudo’s suggestion Blowback turns the biker helmet with the jammer to the back to cover themselves.

Blowback is wondering about the name of Caber’s street doc to get checked out for the HMHVV. They decide to meet up at the street clinic and debate on how to smooth things over with the Irish. Sudo calls Lydia to get an appointment for Blowback and to see if they can get Cyberware out of the body of Deadbolt, which Lydia agrees to sell to a chop shop for a fee.

Blowback and Pug meet up with Sudo and they lug Deadbolt’s body to the clinic. They see Lydia with a pistol in her hand. They carry Deadbolt to the operating table and Lydia runs a scan over his body to look for the cyberware. Sudo and Blowback talk a bit while Lydia looks over the body. She comes back with an offer to get the cyberware for 5% of the list price for almost 5K Nuyen. She mentions nanomachine augmentations and they give her a vial they collected from earlier. Sudo sees Pug has bodily fluids on him and demands he washes it off. Sudo also suggests Lydia takes extra precautions handling the syringe. Pug goes to wash up and Lydia begins testing the fluids. Lydia’s results shows both hard and soft nanites that are inactive. The syringe has possible hunter nanites that could be used to destroy other Nanites. Lydia packs the syringe into a gel pack for safety.

She isn’t knowledgeable about Nanites specifically and they ask if she might know someone who could tell them more. She suggests an elf that came in recently for a stock of nanites, who might be Large. Upon further examination, the nanites are trying to repair Deadbolt’s cells even though he is dead. The group thanks her for service and warns Lydia to not get involved with the growing conspiracy. They warn Lydia that she is working with dangerous assets and they decide to probably dispose of the body without taking out the cyberware. They go over to checking their own health for nanites or infections. Pug and Sudo are fine but Blowback has a HMHVV Type 3 infection. It’s minor but it could still have consequences if its not treated. The nanites could help but it's risky because they are completely untested. The group pay her and give their thanks to her.

They leave out of her office and Blowback unwraps his package to re-arm. Sudo will look into the equipment while Pug and Blowback will clean the van of blood (a common theme of late). Sudo gets into HotSim and looks for tags only to find none from Pug’s work. Sudo is concerned about how frequently the back of the van is used and suggests they get better equipment to protect themselves.

The group agrees on manacles, an armored body bag, and mirror material and places an order for a drop. The group immediately pick up the manacles and will have the other gear delivered shortly. They put Pug in the Manacles and allow Pug to try and break out of them with his brute strength. He can’t and, satisfied, they return to their hideout in the ship. Sudo wants to get a few more items to be able to get a security system for the van but they decide to keep the sensor array on the van as it is. Sudo then asks Pug about the situation with Tiny. Pug and Blowback give Sudo the lo-down and Sudo notes how things are connecting with the missing gym funds and personality changes in Tiny’s customers. It might be connected with Layla and Ben attacking them and how Tiny’s run might also be connected. Neonet’s facility was locked down hard after their run and whatever they did is likely what happened to let the nanite incident happen. The group decides they need to see how much Tiny knows about the situation and how he could be useful to the investigation. They also try to link the water to the personality changes in the members and wonder if the nanites could be used to control people. Blowback wants to set up a meet with Tiny and Sudo suggests extreme caution in his dealings with Tiny. Sudo wants to control their information load with Tiny and that they need to lay out a conversation path. They consider that NeoNet is the one targeting and they are caught in the fallout. Either way, NeoNet is gunning for everyone connected with the run. They consider reducing tensions with the Irish and Yakuza to avoid having to watch their backs constantly.

Before going to bed Sudo gathers up the commlinks and and walks outside the jammer to hack into the commlinks. Sudo looks into the commlink files and sees datafiles all armed with databombs. He summons Glitch and orders it to disarm the bomb. Glitch fails to disarm it and it detonates the bomb taking damage and erasing the commlink’s history. He then has glitch attack the bomb on the contact list and successfully disarms it. Looking over the contact list he sees several familiar names and sees the messaging system has Large’s name all over it contacting other people and some other messages. Finally Sudo goes after the bomb on the system file and defuses the bomb. He goes through the system files and finds an interesting collection of music and pictures of the group taken from a high power scope and CCTV cameras. He sees more surveillance photos of the group with notes attached. Mikhail, the MP, Twin, the group themselves, Ben and Layla, Bob, the Irish Bodyguard, and the female elf Johnson are all included. Sudo particularly notes that the Elf Woman was a double agent for NeoNet and that “Room 116” was explicitly noted. Tiny is in the files as well suggesting he has been followed for some time. Pink was flagged as having “aberrant behavior”. Sudo finds a final file about how someone might have a connection to the GOD. Sudo is very concerned with who might want these people and what the “implantations” might mean for them and everyone connected to them. He dopes himself up on Zen and tries to go to sleep with the implications buzzing around in his mind and has disturbing dreams.

The next morning Blowback wakes up and takes his medicine feeling his fever worsen. He goes and calls Tiny to set a meeting. Tiny offers to go to the business meeting with Large later and Blowback wants to pick him up. Sudo offers to go with Blowback but Blowback doesn't want to leave Pug alone. Sudo is extremely worried about meeting Tiny or Large and will give Blowback information. Heading out the door Blowback runs into David who complains that he hasn’t eaten much lately. Blowback assures David that there will be bodies to eat and he goes away. Sudo gives Blowback what he knows: Large is no good and apparently is a ringleader of something. Large is doping people with nanites and might be using Bob as a pawn. Tiny is resisting the pressure and someone doesn’t want him to leave the shadows (explaining the run they had against him). All of it traces back to the NeoNet facility in Wales where whatever the run did got something out.

They call up the Irish Mob Boss who is angry about the money. He asks about Shooter and how he died and Pug confirms their crew killed him. O’Brien offers the bounty on Shooter in exchange for dropping the debts against them and agrees to a meet to discuss their information.

Meeting Tiny, they get into the van and Blowback lays out what he knows. Tiny says Large wasn’t acting strange but he did get an invitation to dinner by his former team. Blowback reveals that Ben Ward, Layla Jones, Shooter, and Deadbolt are all dead after trying to killing them. After this revelation to Tiny…. Tiny mentions that if they failed, he must succeed and attacks Blowback with his fist.

Stream 13: Shadowrunners

Blowback checks over his equipment and decides to test out the guns to see if they are going to jam up and call a gunsmith to have them fixed up if they are damaged. Pug looks on the top deck for a lifeboat and doesn’t find anything. Going around the ship, Blowback and Sudo listen for signs of activity. They find a welded wall with… something behind it. Pug decides to fire off rounds from his weapons to test them. Someone tried to place a mark on Blowback’s helmet and Sudo intercepts it. A comlink registered to “Fred Jones” is trying to hack into the helmet and Sudo advises everyone to offline their wireless gear. Pug fires off a few rounds from the Ares Alphas and finds the chambering mechanism isn’t working right. He takes it down to Sudo to try and fix it.

Caber at Cargo is waiting for Deadbolt to join him and scopes out the “scenery” in the club. He finds a group of Orc women which doesn’t quite strike his fancy and orders a whiskey from an admiring bartender, who gives it to him on the house. Suddenly Caber feels something poke him in the back hard and searching around he doesn’t see who does it. He tries to astrally perceive and detect enemies but nothing really checks out at first. Focusing hard, he notices someone waiting across the street. Caber decides to go confront them, rushing to the door and hitting a group of orcs on the way. He pushes past the door and pursues the two figures telling the bouncer to follow him. The bouncer agrees and runs with him to pursue the two figures hostile to him. They run down the two and one looks like Deadbolt while the other is an elf looking person. The group initiate combat.

The unknown man turns around and looks over at Caber, gesturing something out before hiding behind a dumpster. Deadbolt ducks behind the corner. The bouncer pulls out his pistol and walks towards the two demanding that they surrender and Caber ducks behind a nearby dumpster. Deadbolt fires a silenced pistol at the bouncer who ducks to the side. The other man gestures to the bouncer and casts a spell and levitates the bouncer up. The bouncer fires at the mage and misses him. Caber fires at the mage and misses jamming his pistol. The bouncer fires once again and misses. Caber sends a message to Sudo to try and get him to help out. Sudo sees the situation playing out in front of him. The mage raises a barrier in front of them and he and Deadbolt flee from combat. The bouncer drops from the levitation and is severely wounded killing him. Caber disengages and walks off from the scene dropping initiative.

Sudo is appraised of the situation by Caber and other club security secure the area. Caber tells them about what happened with Deadbolt and the mage. Caber returns to the nightclub and Sudo rouses the other two to appraise them of the situation. Sudo suggests they get ready to extract him if things go sour. Pug, having a second look, vaguely sees a possible raft he could use.

Back at the club Caber is ushered into Cargo by club security. Kevin puts him in one of the staff areas and Caber explains what happened with Kevin not sure to believe him. Kevin offers to look into the claim and ushers him out to avoid Lonestar. He is lead out to a hatch and ladder leading to a secret exit behind a dumpster in an alleyway. He pings Sudo to decide how to proceed and then calls up Lydia, his street doctor, to see if she could have a look at what he might have been attacked with.

Pug finds the inflatable raft he was looking for and deploys it into the Thames. Pug jumps from the deck into the raft and punctures it, sinking the boat and falling into the Thames. Caber receives a torrent of curses from Pug and Sudo looks into his eyes to see he is drowning. Pug is drowning in the mucky Thames and tries to swim up. Pug drops the assault rifles and swims up but is floating away from the Belfast. Sudo spots some rope and requests Blowback helps throw the rope to Pug. Resigned to stop his entertainment Blowback throws the rope while Sudo anchors the rope to the railing. Pug is slowed down by the rope and starts dragging the anchor with him. Sudo and Blowback grab onto the rope and try to pull him back. Pug tries to pull himself forward towards the ship and the anchor pulls to the edge and falls. Pug decides then to swim to shore and climbs the embankment. Pug puts his goggles on and searches for the guns to no avail.

Sudo tells them to exit through the sewers to get to shore as Pug climbs the embankment to the shore. Pug feels nausea and throws up on the sidewalk, feeling his skin burning and eyes blurry, then tries to return to the ship. Back on the ship they argue a bit and Sudo storms off, chastising his team for their lack of subtlety and inability to maintain secrecy of the hideaway.

Blowback decides to call Raj to try and get him to safety on the Belfast. Caber meanwhile walks up to his street doctor to get checked out. Caber gets to her and she checks him out finding some old magical hallucinogens and something else. Sudo and everyone else is going through the back alleys to meet up with Caber and Blowback calls Raj to see if he’s alright and warn him about people hacking items. Sudo’s agent warns him about someone marking him and Sudo decides to offline everything.

After this they decide to go separate ways. Sudo goes to meet Caber at the street clinic and Pug and Blowback are going to Raj’s Lockup to arm and check on Raj. At the clinic, Caber is on the medkit. It seems Deadbolt extracted blood from Caber and they aren’t exactly clear why. Sudo suggests that Lydia scans for nanites and she agrees to it. They take Caber to an MRI and the scan returns with a negative on nanotech. Sudo asks Caber and Lydia to not mention the nanites to the others and is trying to make sense of the situation. He apologizes for not being able to explain until now. Sudo wants to know about nanite scanners and Lydia offers a medkit. They talk together about nanotech and getting nanite hunters to ensure that they are protected from any possible nanite invasion but they are really, really rare. Sudo gets up and urges them to go somewhere else. Caber suggests going to a nearby pub to try and lay low. Pug and Blowback take a bus to the lockup to get their equipment and see nothing out of the ordinary. They ping Sudo and Caber to let them know they are at the lockup. Sudo looks over tech inside the lockup and sees a potential threat inside of it waiting for them. Sudo hacks the commlink of their assailant but fails and loses their signal. They decide to walk off and leave the lockup when suddenly someone inside fired on them. Back at Sudo and Caber the orc guard is suddenly beheaded by a sniper's bullet. Both parties enter combat.

Sudo calls up Bit and Byte to fight. Sudo dodges gunfire. Blowback opens the door and sees a blood puddle on the floor of the lockup. Sudo looks for weapons of the attacker and sees his loadout. Sudo tells Bit and Byte to attack their weapons and reflexes and pings everyone that they are under attack, then tells Caber to get inside. The ninja fires on Blowback and ignites a fire on a car. Caber runs into the building and takes cover with Sudo. Pug charges into the area to charge the attacker and punches the ninja in the face, who dodges the blow. Pug sees that it's Deadbolt firing at them. Bit attacks the wireless reflexes of their attacker and Byte glitches the rifle. Caber and Sudo’s ninja fires on them and strikes Caber and he is bleeding heavily. Blowback runs to the van to get it turned on. Sudo closes the door and calls to Lydia to heal Caber and gets in contact with his Technomancer in the Technomancer Cooperative to call Doc Wagon. They agree to call in a high threat response and extraction team for Caber. Deadbolt dodges back from Pug and gets smashed by him against the back of the van. Deadbolt snaps a shot at Pug from his prone form and misses him. Bit and Byte continue their attacks on the cyberware and rifle. Lydia moves in and pulls Caber away from the wall to the medkits. Bit and Byte attack again. Pug attacks Deadbolt and yanks his rifle away from him. Deadbolt gets up and runs away from Pug, who intercepts him with an elbow to the face killing him, and making them drop out of combat. The sniper with Caber and Sudo fires again and misses. Sudo tells Lydia to stabilize Caber and then wheels an X-Ray machine in front of the wall to barricade it. Byte jams his weapon and Bit fails to hit the wireless reflexes. The sniper offlines his equipment. Lydia stabilizes Caber and patches his wounds up. They go off combat time.

Sudo pushes a message to his co-op to get material on the DocWagon contract. He tells Caber the details and DocWagon makes a dynamic entry to the clinic and take Caber off. Trying to wheel off Caber the sniper appears again and hits a Doc Wagon soldier. They load Caber into the helicopter and take off. Sudo looks out for the sniper and the Doc Wagon gunner opens fire with the helicopter’s minigun on the sniper's position, killing him. After making sure Lydia is alright Sudo leaves and wires over 500 Nuyen to Lydia, getting her as a contact. As he leaves, he notices where the gunner shot at the sniper as well as a dwarf on a lower landing. With his gun out and trained on the dwarf Sudo approaches cautiously. He tells Byte to diagnostic his pistol and checks the dwarf. The dwarf is swiss cheese and has the face of Shooter, the dwarf shadowrunner.

At the lockup Pug breaks down a barricaded door to find Raj bleeding with a pistol in his hand. They get a medkit out of the van and use it on Raj to heal him up. Raj is still unconscious but at least is stabilized and they load him up. Blowback notices the helmet in the van is tampered with and messages Sudo to get him to a dead drop and sweep for bugs. They take Deadbolt’s body into the van and drive off. Sudo reaches for Shooter’s comlink and looks for RFID tags. He messages Lydia to destroy the blood and she confirms it is destroyed.

Some time later, Blowback starts feeling woozy and runs a fever…. Caber is en route to Doc Wagon, Blowback and Pug are going to the drop point, and Sudo is making himself scarce for a while. The team is scattered and broken after the attack.

Stream 12: Death From Above

The group is in the van taking a long winding route into the South Lambeth blocks of London. They need to lay low and regroup so they can make sense of the information they had recently received about the shadowrunners and others under surveillance. Blowback is driving, Sudo is on overwatch, Pug is in the back, and Caber is not with them resting at his home. They all decide to go shack up with Caber and take transit to dodge security. They debate how to get the Panther canon past security. And decide to hide it in the van and take it the rest of the way under cover some other way.

The group take the van out to the hardware store to pick up gear for the run and look around for pursuers. Blowback calls Raj up to take him and the group to Caber’s place and Sudo checks the traffic cam data to look for pursuers, where he finds none, and Pug shops around. After buying their supplies Raj agrees to take the van to the lockup for a while. During this the group spy an elven woman eyeing them and Pug tries to sneak on her but she notices Pug and walks off where they lose sight of her. Raj arrives and, after Sudo scans all of Raj’s pimped out ride has modified to it, Sudo gets into the truck. Pug decides to stay with his canon in the back of the truck. Raj drives them to Caber’s house in good time and drops them and their equipment off. Raj’s car is quite pimped out with heated seats and refreshments which they enjoy along the way. With the seat heater failing some fuel sprays on Blowback’s pants. The group moves to the block on the GPS tag and Sudo pings Caber to let them in.

They see a drone flying by and Sudo interrogates its purpose and specifications. It seems like a boring drone by its tech and is being controlled remotely by a company named Baltic Delivery. Pug is off to the side purchasing cookies from a Corp Scout that walked up. The drone falls out of the sky and is revealed to be an explosive grenade trap. The group enters initiative time.

They run away from the falling drone. Pug sweeps up the girl and protects her running away. The drone explodes and knocks Sudo down, Blowback gets critically injured, Pug shields the girl and the explosion barely harms him, Caber’s wall behind him crumbles and the floor below him buckles making him fall down through on the remains of his sofa to the first floor. Raj’s car outside is absolutely destroyed and Raj himself is minorly hurt. Raj gets up and runs away from the truck. Exit initiative.

The group recovers from the blast and Pug sends the girl on her way. They go to see Blowback and Raj is helping him up. Blowback tells the group to get the weapons out and Sudo is more concerned about him. Blowback has a crooked arm and a burned face and hair. Pug runs to the truck to get the guns out of the truck. The rocket fuel in Raj’s truck is close to going off and Pug is trying to get the guns away. The fuel ignites and explodes violently moderately damaging pug. The group lost one assault rifle, a pistol, and ammo leaving all of them the one magazine of ammo in their weapons.

Sudo suggests hijacking a car to escape from the area and they find a lady driving towards them and they decide to do it. Caber shifts his rifle to a bag and goes to join the others. Pug opens the door to the woman’s car rips the handle off. While the woman tries to taser pug he gets the driver door open and takes her out to the street. Then he tries to get the car loaded with the cannon and sits in the car, breaking the front seat. Suddenly realizing his cookies are gone he curses at his idiocy. Sudo questions about the jammer Blowback had made and they need to look for it. They luckily left the helmet with the jammer in the van. Sudo pushes Raj to take him somewhere they could look after Blowback and Caber walks toward the Cargo Nightclub.

The police are closing in on the scene and the group decides to leg it rather than take the car they just hijacked. They almost run into the cops trying to sneak through the alleyways. Raj suggests laying low with his contact in the Irish Mob. They decide to not go there while they still have an outstanding debt. Sudo decides to go to ground and hide in the sewers, even at the risk of Blowback’s health. Pug lifts up the nearest manhole cover and the group descends downward. Sudo calls up 3 sprites to find information on the sewers and Raj stays topside for support.

Caber cleans himself off magically and walks to Cargo past police cruisers to drop off some of his gear. He calls up Kevin, Cargo’s owner, to let him know he’s coming and they negotiate a price for storing his gear. The group use the Medikit on Blowback. The Medikit stabilizes his condition. Grok pings up Sudo with information and a location listed to Rebecca Brookes. Aavak calls in a favor from Rebecca who gives him the location of a safe stash and a Data Haven Sudo can access with an encrypted key. Sudo searches for resonances and finds senses of resonance of recent people as well as a tear or entryway. Sudo finds the encrypted key and opens the files from the Data Haven and gets directions to the safe stash somewhere around the Thames River. He also sees a device with 3 marks. The host device has old military and modern protocols on it. Sudo makes note of the tear and the device and drops Hotsim.

Sudo slips a bit in the sewer waste. After he recovers he informs the group about Rebecca’s hidden stash and the ghouls possibly standing in their way. The team walk into the sewers on Rebecca’s instructions and find the older Victorian era sewers. Certain raw sewage floats by that captures Blowback’s eye and he tries to fish it out. He gets a dirty hand out of the sewer and inspects it. Something big was chewing on it and it makes Sudo nervous. Sudo suggests Pug takes the lead and he squeezes past Sudo. They hear soggy rubbery footsteps in the tunnels both above and behind them. The group enter initiative time.

Pug goes on overwatch towards the front. Blowback looks above and a ghoul is sliding down the pipe. Another one is sprinting up behind them. Blowback fires at the ghoul above and his gun jams up. Sudo fires on the ghoul behind and hits it ripping its jaw off its hinge. A ghoul around the corner charges Pug and Pug fires. His cannon craters the wall beside it and the ghoul crawls on Pug and attacks which he fends off. The other ghoul falls between Sudo and Blowback attacking Sudo. It splashes up the sewer water and everyone gets splashed by it. Pug strikes the ghoul with his assault cannon. Pug smashes the ghoul and dislocates his jaw but it’s still up.  Blowback clears the jam and fires at the ghoul killing it. Pug stomps the prone ghoul and crushes its head underfoot. Blowback pushes Sudo away and Pug fires, exploding on the ghoul and covering the group in ghoul guts. They drop out of combat.

They hear a voice calling out and looking around the corner they see a frail ghoul that looks surprisingly familiar. It is David! The group hold their weapons on him as they consider him. David tries to hug Sudo, recognizing him, and gets stopped by Pugs assault cannon. He turns around to leave and Sudo stops him. David claims that someone came to help him but then dumped him in the sewers and he became infected with the HMHVV. David then reveals Beatrice is, tragically, dead. He devoured her when the hunger from the virus took hold. David tells that he has not eaten in ages and pushes past the group and devours the corpse of a ghoul. Sudo tells him farewell and urges the group forward.

Before they leave David warns them of a trap grenade at the entrance of the sewer. They walk with him to the entrance and step over the tripwire and come out of the other side. Sudo finds his host device named “Belfast” and reads the system time clock started at the turn of the millennium. Sudo dismisses David and promises him more bodies if he keeps himself clean. Sudo enters Hotsim and accesses the host while they walk to the ship along the Thames, appearing as the deck of a navy cruiser identified as the HMS Belfast. Sudo looks at the schematics of the ship and finds a considerable bounty of supplies and facilities rigged up to make it a base of operations. Sudo adds himself, Pug, Caber, and Blowback to the authorized users. They enter the ship successfully and it leads down to a lounge. They search the ship and its many facilities until they come to welded steel plates on the corridors. They investigate the turret and don’t find much. They push the hatch to the surface and see the outside in disrepair. They ping Caber with their location so he could join them.

Caber has been trudging through the night and arrives at Cargo. He gets waved in by the bouncer and meets with Kevin. He requests Kevin keeps his rifle and ammo for him while he finds a new place to live. Kevin takes his equipment and they talk a bit more. Caber requests somewhere in the bar to sleep. After leaving, Caber sees Deadbolt, the locksmith Shadowrunner, waiting to see Kevin. Caber welcomes Deadbolt to judge his intent. Deadbolt invites him to drink and Caber decides to join him. He receives a message from his team that he dismisses to act on it later.

Stream 11: A Tiny Favour

Sudo came back from his trip to Wales and reports that the people he was searching for were not there.

Shortly after, Blowback receives a call from Tiny who has a job for the group. They decide to meet him in public at the East End Pub. Blowback goes solo to the pub to meet Tiny. A pretty fancy pub greets him and on the second floor Tiny is waiting. Tiny is quite nervous and on edge about something. Tiny says that Large and several gym members have been acting strange. He then asks about what really happened with the fight. Blowback plays dumb and dodges the question. Tiny gets on to the point that Large is acting strange and 25K is missing from the gym’s bank account. He mentions a new Orc that was acting strange and Blowback confirms it is Bob. Blowback accepts the job and begins his investigation requesting after hours access. Tiny mentions he feels he is being watched and that he is afraid of Large and what he might be doing.

Blowback goes back and appraises the others of the situation. Blowback suggests Pug stays away from the situation in order to avoid possibly agitating Tiny. Sudo is suspicious of Tiny’s motives but decides to trust him. 25K from the gym’s account during the time of the fight makes the group think somebody is skimming off his business, probably Large. They want Sudo to check the area for now and case the security to search for clues to what might have happened. Sudo is concerned that something is amiss and his research has revealed Tiny’s name. Sudo reveals the bounty on Tiny’s head placed by NeoNet. Blowback suggests that taking this case can help fill in the gaps with how Tiny is connected but he is still suspicious and wary of traps. Sudo looks into the host at the gym and the security host. Sudo suggests using it to spy on Bob and Blowback considers taking it on a step further and monitoring the others at the gym.  Pug thinks about how the bounty could be affecting him.

Sudo goes on to mention the bounty on the other runners and their connection to NeoNet. Tiny, Large, ZZZ, and Pink are all wanted by the same corp for a bounty per head. They already handed ZZZ over to the Vory and all the others are known to them. Blowback notices that the 20K-ish Nuyen disappearing around the time of the fight and the bounty match and consider that Large might have taken it to pay off his bounty but they quickly dismiss it. The group consider telling Tiny about the bounty and are split on how much they should be involved.

The group decides to divide and conquer. Tiny will be handled by Blowback and Bob will be handled by Sudo and Pug. Blowback in the meantime runs the medkit on himself and shows an unusually high amount of Silicate and Iron levels but nothing dangerous. The nanites in his body are mysteriously absent and he’s not entirely sure why which has him extremely nervous.

The group try to follow Bob’s route through the matrix with Grok and see that he has been going around into other gangs territory. With Tiny they get the member list from the gym only to find that the person they are trying to find isn’t on there. Sudo drags up Bob’s contacts of Ben Ward and Layla Jones as people recently within the vicinity of the gym and being members. Sudo asks Pug to get his contacts up to get a drone. Sudo requests that Blowback call Tiny about Ben and Layla as well as getting security access. They gear up to find Bob and while in traffic Sudo sees someone following behind in a car. Sudo determines the driver is Ben Ward. Blowback decides to try dodge Ward and after a while he breaks off his pursuit. Sudo looks into the car for items while they follow finding weapons, personal effects, and commlinks in Ward’s car. Seizing on the commlinks, Sudo tries to hack with Grok. Sudo marks the commlink and gets the commlink files. Grock takes a hit from a data bomb unexpectedly that also destroys the contacts and contact history. Sudo tells Grok to repair itself and he looks back over the data in detail. With the data in hand they break off pursuit and return home.

On the way they see another car that has been following the van as well which belongs to Layla Jones. Sudo finds a pistol and 2 commlinks. Sudo tries to compile a Rating 5 Career Sprite and they consider attacking Layla and Ben. They decide better of it and Sudo continues his compiling. He compiles it and named it Hazel, then orders it to put a cookie on Layla’s commlink persona to log actions on it. Sudo will keep the cookie on for 24 hours and will keep it from being spotted. With the cookies in place they try to lose their pursuers in the traffic which they shake Layla. Then Ben goes on the freeway and they are pursued once again.

At Sudo’s suggestion Blowback begins to drive more aggressively and he tries to hit Ben with his van. They commence combat and Blowback PITs Ben’s car which makes him swerve but not crash. The driver pulls up beside them and fires a SMG at them from his seat. Blowback breaks hard and dodges the SMG fire. Blowback tries to hit Ben’s car again and he starts losing ground on the van. Ben drives up behind the van. Sudo calls Pug to update him on the situation that he won’t be able to make the meet at the gym. They decide to drive past Pug’s house and have him attack their pursuer. They drive through and Sudo looks around for wireless signals. He finds a Taxi that he plans on hijacking and swerving into the car. Blowback takes a sharp turn to try and lose them before reaching Pug. Pug goes outside and searches for an object to attack the car. Sudo gives Blowback notice of his plan and Pug runs to the meet point. Ben once again fires on the car and misses. Sudo sends the Taxi into the other car and misses both them and Ben’s car.

Blowback takes a hard corner to try and gain ground from the pursuers. Pug is trying to get to meet up. Ben drives up and tailgates the van. Pug jumps down and hits the ground floor. Blowback drives defensively against Ben. Layla joins in the car chase and tries to ram the van. Blowback slams the accelerator and Layla almost hits Ben. Layla careens off the road and into a nightclub rolling over several people in the process. Layla is heavily damaged from her crash and likely died from her injuries. Blowback speeds up and Ben is keeping pace behind them. Blowback sends Sudo to get an Ares rifle from the back to chuck to Pug. Blowback slows down for the handoff. Pug picks up a heavy drink machine to hit the car with. Ben fires on the van and misses once again. Sudo watches for wireless devices. Pug gets ready to throw the drink dispenser and Blowback chucks the rifle and it misses Pug. Sudo readies to fire and Pug throws the machine at Ben. The machine plows into the car and smashes the windshield, smashing the driver and sending the car careening into a few parked cars, killing him.

The group pull into a low profile area off the highway. Looking up the information on Ben they see his and Layla’s past as well as everything leading up to the now. They also find a number of surveillance photos on Tiny and the group. They consider that they have been under surveillance for some time and that Tiny should be warned. They also find Pink’s hovel and several other interesting connections with a mayor of one of the London Borrows, Deadbolt, Shooter, and a female elf named “Twin” Sudo knew back when he was being introduced to the shadows. Pug recognizes an elder gentleman who looks like a Vory associate Mikhail and bodyguard in the Old Isle Pub. Another picture is of a server that Sudo is curious about. The Johnson from the Saeder-Krupp run is also of interest. A great conspiracy arises as to how all of these people are connected. The last pictures involve Pug himself. It seems Pug is being followed and may no longer be safe at his home. Sudo tells the group to burn the SINs and sorts through the files more. There is one note on Blowback that he is possibly “affected” and that more research is required.

Blowback is going to meet with Tiny and have him explain what all of this means. Sudo is slowly connecting the dots with all of this. The pieces connecting all of the conspiracy are falling into place...

Stream 10: Ocean Extraction

After returning to the van, Caber sees the van smoking and rushes over. Upon further inspection the Caber finds the guns in the van sparked and smoking and Sudo gone. Blowback reads the sensor sweep from the van and nothing seems to be gone wrong. Blowback looks further and sees Sudo scrawling on the wall and dried blood, the guns sparking and smelling of burned plastic, and Sudo completely gone. Pug jumps into the van and notices… his assault cannon is burned out.

They pile into the van and head back to the apartment. Pug takes his cannon back into his room and tries to repair it while Blowback cleans out his van. A week passes and Sudo messages from wherever he is that he apologizes for destroying their guns and tries to repair them. He spends the week remotely repairing the guns and the group rests up. After fixing the weapons, Sudo says he has to rest up as well as leave off again to Wales for research.

A week later, Sudo forwards on a message from Rebecca Brookes. She needs a team for a last minute job and Blowback sends it to Blacksun to trace it. Blacksun tries tracing it and gets hit by IC, refunding the cost. The group decide it's someone well defended and/or powerful. Blacksun got to the original sender and hit big time security measures. IC, Firewall, Encryption, the Works. Blowback asks Pug’s contact in the Yakuza, Miyo, for a favor for a car and light milspec. It’s not easy to get and costs a hefty sum. Also Blowback receives his package from Raj, also for a hefty sum. With prep complete, the group decides to accept the job and see what happens. With an address in hand they head to the meet.

They arrive in the area at a rather depressed wage slave part of town and head to the meet. At the meet they see a huge troll in an immaculate suit wielding a rather obvious gun in his suit pocket. The group disarm and head into the apartments. They meet a Johnson, an elven woman in a casual business suit, interested in moving an individual offshore to the sound of 40K Nuyen and a bonus if it is done in 3 days. The person of interest is a scientist, Scott Baker, on a research vessel in the arctic and 20K will be advanced in order to cover the cost of transport. They have 3 lifeline comcodes and will arrange pickup at 12-1 AM.

When asked who they are against, the woman says they are stealing the scientist from the second highest corporation in the world Saeder-Krupp. To sweeten the deal she adds an additional 10K Nuyen and upgraded commlinks to NeoNET rank 6 Commlinks. Accepting the job, Caber wants to get the job done soon and Blowback wants to bail out. Going up against S-K, the second largest corp in the world, is a very scary proposition.

They have a prospective boat at Wilhelmshaven that they could reach. They might think about rigging the boat with a gun to attack the research vessel. Blowback suggests getting the security off the boat and scooping up the scientist. They look at the vessel schematics and debate a plan of attack. They decide to have a buoy setup to send a distress call trap, let it get hit by a jammer, drop a dingy into the water, deal with the security, and extract the scientist. They decide to maybe use their launcher and call up their contacts, a smuggler and a arms dealer. Caber calls up Ryan, his smuggler, for a VTOL craft for a lift. Ryan says he needs to have speed on this mission and his VTOL will not be damaged. For all the trouble, Ryan says he wants 12K Nuyen up front. Meanwhile, Blowback goes to pick up his package from Raj. Raj says he got asked questioned by some Russian soldiers about cars. Blowback suggests he drop the car for a while. Blowback goes home and opens his package. He gets a new biker helmet that has a directional jammer. Blowback shows off his helmet and updates the plan. They consider disabling either the satellite or sensor arrays or air dropping to the boat. They also consider security having major anti-air defenses like a AA-gun or rocket launcher. To approach the boat they either decide to use a Dinghy to infiltrate or parachute in. Either option has its serious limits. They could also go for a Nightwing gliders or unpowered but it is prohibitively expensive. Ryan arrives and is appraised of the situation. With a storm in the area for the next few days their options are limited. Blowback is extremely pessimistic about their chances of success with all the mounting problems. They look into getting a transfer for the crew logs and look for reasons to extract the crew and their target in combination with the forgery crew transfer. They can either go silent after the 3 bonus days or smash and grab for it.

They decide to have a fake extraction on important personnel posing as a security detail pulling the scientist out. If that fails, they decide to go loud and kill the security on the boat and capture the scientist by force.

Pug calls up Miyo about Caber’s new rifle as well as extra additional Jammers to knock out the communication devices on  the ship. Blowback considers calling Black Sun to add additional jamming. Black Sun wants in on the job and a cut on the profit. He also suggests spoofing and security overwatch. They hire him on and accept his condition for a satlink and a share of the profit. They also consider the order to extract and either want to appear as personnel or as shadowrunners hired by S-K to extract the target. Pug receives a backpack from a courier with his rifle in it. Blowback needs Caber to get a good representation of the uniform and to see the procedures for an emergency extraction. With their weapons and equipment prepped, story straight, and security overwatch provided for, they get ready to deploy.

On the T-Bird VTOL, the group prepare their disguises and get their pilot appraised of the situation and Caber sets the fashion magic to get the armored suits to look like S-K suits. Black Sun spoofs the message to the ship and they slowly descend onto the ship. They try to jam and hope the comms will be weak enough to not get anything to the mainland as they ready to rappel to the ship. Waves and wind crash on the ship and Caber slips out a bit. Blowback suggests giving the excuse that the satlink is to keep in contact with HQ. They jump down to the ship and Blowback lands hard, Pug goes down easy, and Caber also hits hard. As the T-Bird dips down from the storm Pug and Blowback quickly tells Ryan to hit the commtower and it does buckle. The two are badly damaged and Blowback almost loses the satlink and the group scatter on the ship. The group are approached by the security guards and confronted.

Caber introduces themselves and convinces the guard of their story to extract Baker. Black Sun spoofs the credentials of Caber successfully. With his story confirmed, they go to the bridge together. A soldier checks the satellite relay which they claim is to keep contact with HQ. They decide to go through with letting the crew check with the satlink their credentials, which Black Sun spoofs a confirmation.

The guards bring the scientist Baker to Caber. Caber convinces them the crew to get him onto the VTOL and after many complex con interactions they get him to the VTOL. At the last moment one of the guards notices Pug and Ryan tries to reel them up. As the guards react to raise their guns the group is reeled up to the VTOL and Caber is knocked unconscious. The soldiers on the top of the ship fire at Pug and Blowback fires back with a grenade. The grenade wastes two soldiers, another is sent flying down the top stairs of the deck, the boat captain is shredded by the grenade, and another soldier is injured. With the team reeled up, Ryan hits the accelerator on the T-Bird. Baker, once on board, mind controls Ryan and makes him turn the bird around. Blowback attacks with the riot baton and misses while Pug tries to choke him out and succeeds. They get back on track and go back to their staging area. Keeping the target unconscious they wait until the necessary time to call and ring the contact for a pickup. They park outside and meet the Johnson’s troll. After disarming, the Troll picks something out of Baker’s pocket and crushes it. Black Sun notifies the group of a inbound chopper. They meet the Johnson at the apartment and deliver him, dropping him and quickly leaping to the van. A chopper flies overhead and there are people in it dropping down. They drive off into the distance with their new pay.

Stream 9: Funeral for a Foe

After 5 weeks the group decide to take a down low and spend their winnings. They decide to try pay the Irish but Caber resists, feeling sleighted at the thought of paying O’Brien. Sudo returns to the group and is updated on the situation.  Blowback and Caber don’t want to payoff O’Brien for different reasons. Blowback wants to save face, because he’s worried about their reputation, Caber mostly just wants revenge and money. They decide to refuse to pay O’Brien and gather intelligence on him. After Raj expels them from the Lockup, Blowback picks up everyone and let them crash in his apartment, and now they are in the Russian territory while they decide what to do. The group decides to talk to Kaslov for the possible protection he could provide. Sudo changes his broadcast signal and has an agent running perception on it to check for marks. Kaslov is basically being vague about using them again for anything. The team has been laying low for a week or so, and making plans, in Blowback’s house. They decide that they should stick together and not separate in case the Irish come looking for them and always be ready for conflict even if they limit exposure. The group banks on Kaslov hating the Irish more than his general disregard for their well being. Not interested in getting involved with a gang war, Leonid is of little help and generally points them at the Old Isle Pub, with a warning that if it gets out he helped them it would end badly. Sudo tries to find info on the pub while deciding what to do with the debt to O’Brien. They decide to actively avoid O’Brien’s territory and try to hack his comm to get a read on his location with Glitch but Sudo fails to and alerts it. Two days later, the group moves in together to dodge the Irish searching for them.

After 3 weeks of dodging the Irish and laying low, the group receives a call from Leonid for another job, though strangely it is not from a person but in a message. At Blowbacks apartment they greet Leonid’s runner with the package and within is a message. It is an invitation to a funeral of Chang Nakano and a chance for the young lady to have a “Blood Debt” settled with the promise of payment. The group consider for a moment what this message could possibly mean, considering if it is a trap by the Yakuza to lure them in and possibly end them. The group decide to have Caber go and do his face thing. The Pug and Blowback will follow suite to not seem disrespectful. Sudo decides to stay behind and Blowback calls Raj to deliver some drugs to calm Sudo down as he has been without his own depressants for some time and is beyond jittery. Dressed in their black suits they walk out into the van. Sudo looks up the attire and etiquette of Japanese funerals.

At the funeral home they arrive an hour early. Sudo quickly messages his contact Rebecca to get in contact with him soon. They go to the funeral home and see the place being locked up for the day. Caber sees someone inside unlock the door and slightly opened it enticing them inside. Pug opens the door and walks inside. A light voice beckons him forward to the funeral parlor and when he gets there the girl from the message is seen praying over the casket. The rest follow cautiously into the room. Unarmored and unarmed they walk into the funeral parlor. They sit in the parlor while the girl finishes her prayers. When she finishes they walk up and offer their condolences with a small tithe to the grave of 500 Nuyen. The girl takes it graciously and gives her offer. Her father was killed and his murder needs to be repaid and then some. The mission is to kill as many Yakuza soldiers as is possible and collect their comlinks, paying 750 Nuyen per head and a bonus 2000 for the Waka-Gashira (Underboss) Hiroshii Takage. The group deliberate over the offer. They decide that the girl might not even have the money to pay, that she might be overreacting to the grief, that it might not be worth a war with Yakuza, that they can be tracked by law enforcement. Leonid chimes in and pushes them to accept the job. They decide in that case it might not be worth being caught but to keep Leonid happy they could take it. Blowback considers a third option, capturing the boss and then assigning his contacts to burners. Sudo counters taking Irish Mob commlinks and dropping them. Blowback considers still killing Yakuza members but spoofing commlinks for extra Nuyen. All are valid strategies but they also want to see why Leonid wants the job done so badly. Leonid texts about limiting the damage to the group by covering them. They are concerned about his motives still but decide to accept, approaching it as they want the Underboss as their priority target and any soldiers they kill will constitute a bonus.

As they debate, Sudo notices a mark on his commlink. Moving hotsim to intercept it, Sudo sees a sprite on his commlink and scares it away. Sudo looks at the resonance signature (seeing a digital fingerprint on a technomancer) and decides to offline his gear.

Going back to the Johnson, she increases the bounty on the Yakuza. 1000 for each dead soldier and 3000 for the Underboss alive. If dead, they get 1500. In this mission they have a short timeframe of the next morning. The group accepts.

Caber looks up the name to look for ways to find the underboss. Pug rings his contact Miyo for information. Miyo turns up that he is a ruthless leader even if he’s low in the rungs, his approximate location, and the fact that he is cleaning house and killing his associates in an effort to root out traitors. His connections and ruthlessness makes him hard to turn others against him. They decide to search in his territory for him. During this Sudo gets a courier from Raj with the drugs he needs to calm himself. He gets 6 doses of Zen to cover him for a while.

The group gear up to fight the Yakuza and Sudo spoofs the broadcast as an ice cream truck. Sudo checks for weapons and Blowback checks the alleyways to plan their attack. Sudo also takes a check of broadcasting commlinks that appear to be Yakuza related in order to get an accurate count of the resistance in the area. The group decide on a plan of attack for the laundromat and head out to end as many bounty heads as possible. Sudo summons up his sprites to attack. They go into the alley and try to intimidate the Yakuza guards and surprise them. With this they initiate combat.

Pug runs up and clocks one guard with his fist. Sudo fires on the other guard and hits him, knocking him down. Caber fires with his rifle and headshots one guard with it, then the bullet blasts through the wall. Blowback finishes off the other guard and covers the corners. The group walks up to the door and finds it is guarded by a wired keypad. Sudo and Caber pick up the comlinks after checking the soldiers bodies and move to address the door.

Pug kicks the door open and find a very surprised group of soldiers, one of which gets smashed by the door. They fire inward and the Yakuza fire back. Caber ducks around the corner and the Yakuza fire on Sudo and hit him. Another one fires on Pug and wounds him and the one firing on Blowback misses. Sudo crawls away and tells Grue to attack enemy weapons. Three other soldiers attack from the alleyway which Sudo and Caber fire on killing one. They continue spraying at the group. Grue attacks and bricks the machine pistol of one of the soldiers. Blowback tosses a flash grenade into the room and Pug tosses one to the alleyway, which downs several of the soldiers. Grue attacks and disables two other guns. Blowback’s grenade detonates inside the building and knocks down the other soldiers, killing several and knocking one in the back out. Pug runs in and attacks the remaining soldier and stomps his head in. Blowback retreats and prepares to fire. A car of reinforcements drives in and Caber and Blowback fire on them, striking the car, and the 3 Yakuza shoot back. Shooting the car, they exchange bullets and hit the engine, causing the car to crash and scrape its right side on the alleyway on its way and come to a stop on the left. Blowback fires on one of the soldiers with a long burst and seriously wounds him. Pug runs over to the other side of the alleyway to the two downed soldiers hit by the flashbang to finish them off. With his pistol he mercs one soldier. Sudo uses the resonance veil and attacks the car’s safety systems to trigger them, knocking the driver unconscious with the airbags. The soldiers exit and one runs into Caber, trying to point blank him and misses, distracted by Caber’s stunning beauty. Sudo also faces down an attacker at point blank. The soldier shoots and hits him….

Sudo gets hit completely and is severely wounded. Grue, in great retribution, bricks the gun attacking Sudo hard. Pug rushes in and surprises the soldier. He runs in, presses his gun into the soldiers back, and fires. The soldier goes down and sprays Sudo with blood. He then runs to the remaining soldier to block his way. Blowback fires on the soldier attacking Caber, killing him and splattering Caber with blood. The last soldier in the laundromat, defiant, grabs a sword from a body to fight Pug one-on-one but Caber runs into the room to attack. Caber shoots and clips him with the rifle and hits Pug but Pug’s plating deflects it. The final soldier at the opening of the alleyway runs away from combat and Caber fires on him. Caber successfully kills him with a shot and ends combat.

Sudo pulls out a dose of drugs and tokes up on Zen lamenting why he was brought on a wetwork job as they bring him into the van. They look through the bodies and locate their bounty, Hiroshi Takage, alive and execute the others except one. They look through the room and take the commlinks, as well as find a box of commlinks without owners, and return to the van. Sudo, in his medicated stupor, kicks the medkit asking how to use it and punctures the bag with Pugs urine sample, getting some on his pant leg. Takage is unconcious in the back and the piss from the medkit gets on him as well. The group loots the bodies and finds lots of weapons bricked by Grue as well as several Wakazashi swords and 1,217 Nuyen. The group debate the one soldier left alive but Caber tries to take him anyways. Pug pops out and fires at the soldier, executing him. Caber scoffs at Pug for this as they drive off and a Lone Star cruiser drives to the scene. Others are en route and several close calls are had but they slip past unnoticed and return to the funeral home.

Caber tries to clear the air with his magic and blowback finds that the piss ruins the tools of the medkit. The group leaves Sudo to trip out in the back of the van on Zen and takes Takage out to the Johnson. She calls them over and tells Pug to put Takage in the casket. She draws a Katana, puts a slap patch on him to wake him up, then plunges it down and guts him, then puts him in the cremation pit and lit it up. His screams echo through the room as the flames consume him and he falls silent. After this ritual murder the Johnson pulls out a credstick in return for the bag of commlinks and Takage. The blood debt is repaid.

RUN SUCCESSFUL

Run Profit: 14000 (Comlinks: 1000*14) + 3000 (Takage Bounty) +200 (Returned Nuyen) + 1217 (Looted Nuyen)+ ???? (Looted Weapons [Bricked]) = 18417

Total Profit: 18,417 Nuyen/4

Individual gain: 4604 Nuyen

Sudo, still tripping out, fires his weapon and orders Grue to brick everything in the immediate vicinity he can reach. The guns, the rocket launcher, Caber’s guns, Blowback’s guns, Sudo’s guns, Pugs guns, their grenades, everything dangerous to him. Sudo slightly lightens up and orders Grue to stop, then gets up, still wounded, and stumbles out of the van walking in a random direction.

Stream 7: Fight Night

At night, Caber is laundering his suit and Pug is studying on his opponent. Trying to find out more about Bob, Blowback calls up his contact and finds out Bob set himself up nicely after their last meeting. Then all go to sleep.

In the morning Sudo leaves a text on their comlinks that he is deep in research and wont be back for a while. Caber gets a connection from his dealer for drugs they could use for the dosing and Pug continues to look for ways to defeat KO. With the time coming for Caber to meet Tiny, it’s all Caber’s show from here. Caber goes to the laundromat to finish up cleaning his suit. Caber decides to astrally perceive and finds the man running the laundromat is something spiritual. Caber goes out to purchase the drugs and Pug asks for Blowback’s help in the matrix search for KO’s weaknesses. Searching around the forums, Blowback gets attacked by a Matrix decker who trolls him and gets his comlink damaged. He turns off his comlink and reboots it, moving to his metalink for the rest of the time. It seems that without Sudo the team is quickly falling apart. Caber returns to the lockup and sees the others. Blowback and Caber talk strategy. Caber will take Tiny out to lunch and try to lace his food or drink, meanwhile Blowback will try to dose his protein shake as a last resort. Pug “researches” his opponent and Caber gets an idea to give him a drugged gift of water. They decide not to approach that way. With nothing more for the planned dinner, they all try to help Pug with his research. Caber gets a list of cyberware that KO has installed. Blowback suggests Caber hire a decker that could help them case security and provide simple tech support with the job. Jake calls back with a Human and Troll decker and suggests using the Troll decker. The Troll decker Black Sun can be hired for the job. With the decker hired, they turn back to researching for the job.  Blowback turns up the specifics of the adrenal pump of KO. They try to come up with an idea to counter the pump and try to dig up ways to work KO up, perhaps trash talk with her family.

Caber calls up Jake again to dig up information on KO and her grandmother. She lives in a place in Dagenham. Caber decides to use her grandmother to fire off her adrenal gland to burn it out before the fight. Either they could scare her by claiming they have her under surveillance or have the decker spoof a message to fake her out and make her disqualify. This idea, however, might cause the match to be rescheduled or throw off the potential betting profits. The group decides to stake out the place where the grandmother lives in Dagenham.

At the house in Dagenham, they notice a minor street gang hanging around and drive around more. They decide to either use scaffolding or an adjacent roof to set up a fake danger to KO’s grandmother.

Returning to the lockup, Caber calls up Kevin to try and decide on a restaurant to bring Tiny off to. Kevin suggests a japanese place that opened up recently. They decide to go out the restaurant and suggests getting a cook to dose the food. With this they decide to set out for the meet.

Fugu-Yu restaurant, a new upscale Japanese place, they decide to have a cook drug the food. Getting to the restaurant they talk to the host about when the cook is to arrive. They try to bribe the host into talking to the cook. After this, Caber walks up to the cook to try and get him to dose the food with drugs. The cook looks a bit out of it and disheveled, perhaps by drugs or alcohol, and backs off his decision to try and have the cook drug him. Caber instead tries to get the server to slip the drugs into his food. The server agrees to the tune of 500 Nuyen and gives him the drugs.

Back at the lockup, Pug is still playing the game and Blowback is gonna meet up with Black Sun. Caber calls up Tiny to set up the meet. Tiny sends off an invoice for 5000 Nuyen which they decide to probably have Pug cover. The run is getting unexpectedly costly and the group hopes they can still make a profit. Caber says he will send the invoice to his finance department and try to delay paying off the 5000. Tiny suggests waiting another week for finances to try and sort it out. Caber, having gone back on his word, works out a deal of half and half to try and salvage the run. Caber gets fleeced by Tiny and has to ask Pug for money, which he does wire 2k Nuyen over grudgingly, which Blowback supplements with 1K of his own.

Caber gets a list of the things that the donation will cover for the event. Black Sun is ready for the run to provide overwatch for Blowback’s intrusion into Tiny and Large’s Gym. Black Sun covers for electronic security while Blowback breaks in. Blowback picks open the backdoor and Black Sun disables the security camera watching it. Breaking into Tiny’s office, Blowback tries to search for the protein shakes and notices a third container he didn’t see before in the pack of drugs he received from the dealer. Looking into the packet he sees it is Novacoke (a magical version of cocaine). He slips the drugs into the front protein shakes and leaves. Black Sun brings the van to Blowback and deletes the comlink data from the job. Blowback also requests Black Sun sponges the video footage, only to discover that he disabled the cameras.

At Fugu-Yu, Caber meets Tiny and sees the waiter wink to see he is ready. Caber tries to convince Tiny into accepting his plans for the event. Scanning the magic in the room he sees Tiny is minorly magical and the restaurant has a watcher spirit. Having their food brought to them, the waiter winks at Caber. Upon delivering the food the waiter sends a hasty message saying that the food was sent to the wrong table and Caber tells him to fix it. The waiter brings out more sauce for the dish dosed with the steroids and seems quite embarrassed with the situation. Tiny offers a taste to Caber who eats the steroids and is minorly affected. Caber’s dinner goes successfully and he decides to cast his control thoughts successfully in an attempt to get Tiny to wire him his 3000 Nuyen back he deposited for the meeting. Tiny, however, resists him and astrally perceives Caber, to which he sees that things are not as they seem. Content with the meet, Caber goes out to the van to report to his success. However, somebody behind him throws a haymaker at him which he notices but he gets knocked out by it. Tiny comes out from the shadow as Caber is knocked out. Waking up, Caber looks over himself and finds that Tiny knocked him out and threw him into a gutter, presumably knowing Caber tried to manipulate him. Blowback ditches the burner comlink he had. With Caber now in a slump in a gutter and unsure what happened, the future of the job is in question.

With Caber being knocked out, Blowback calls Black Sun to try and erase the Commlink. Sudo messages from the resonance that he pulled the video from Caber’s link of Tiny assaulting him and burned his commlink. Caber, once again, goes to get his suit cleaned and some medical attention for where Tiny smashed him. Returning to his home Caber is out of the loop for now. Blowback is now compromised unless he has a good excuse to be at the gym. Pug is enjoying the video and tries to cut together the video into a montage but completely fails. They decide to hold on to the video and try to extort or threaten Tiny if he tries to attack them again, threatening to release it to interested parties.  Blowback sends Black Sun the video for editing which he agrees to do.

Pug continues the research on KO and… doesn’t find a lot of help. Blowback decides to go back to the lockup to help Raj and meets up with Caber. Setting up the meet for KO’s grandmother’s house they decide to use the scope to make it seem like the rifle is pointed on her but not using an actual rifle. Climbing up to the scaffolding and set up the shot, they see a group of youths accost a passerby. Turning back to the job they hear sirens that scares the youths away. Looking at the scene Blowback falls off the scaffolding, Pug tries to reach him before he falls unsuccessfully, and fails into a car. Amazingly nobody sleeping in the residential area notices that. They get a video of the grandmother watching the television.  Black Sun drives the van over and the group takes off.

Back at the Lockup they have the fight sorted out and Raj calls to see how they have progressed. They decide to redo Pug’s urine sample and Caber takes back the link he previously gave to Pug. They decide to give the urine test time to work. They decide to have Black Sun push the video to KO as well as mess with KO’s cyberware. They throw the rest of what they have into the betting pot to make money on the fight.

The night of the fight they decide to bring Black Sun in the job to rig the urine test (if it doesn’t naturally work out) for 500 Nuyen. Pug and Blowback go through security and see a directional jammer. Black Sun can’t disable the jammer for the arena but agrees to send the message to KO to trigger her adrenal glands. 10 minutes before the fight the feed is activated. The announcer walks up and announces that Tiny is disqualified from the MMA match for doping and that a short concert will be happening before the fight. Pug gets ready to fight and Raj gets his payout to the group. Blowback gets 20k Nuyen wired over to him which he divides over the four evenly. Pug meets up with KO and Sudo gets a text about betting as Pugs odds inflate to a 7:1 payout if he wins. The group throws a total 11,850 Nuyen on Pug for betting. Blowback tells Black Sun to ready himself for the fight and control the spotlight for blinding her at inopportune times. Black Sun sends over the message and enrages KO triggering her adrenal gland mods early. KO runs up on the stage and Pug marches out. After the meeting the judge referee is Large the Elf who does a brief introduction for the fighters.

Pug engages in combat with KO, who lost her adrenal pump because of Black Sun sending her the message. Pug charges into her and KO dodges. KO retaliates with a kick and a knock down and moves to the corner to prepare a pounce from one of the corners. Pug manages to land an interception hit as she tries to retreat and stops her. Feeling the gel layer solidify on his boxing spell from the start of the fight Pug swipes again and grazes KO, KO gets on the arena corner and uses her arena dive. Black Sun uses the spotlight to distract KO during the attack. KO gets the hit still and causes Pug damage. With KO on the ground, Pug gets up and stomps her in the chest. KO gets up and threatens Pug for threatening her grandmother. Pug tries to hit her weak point on he left torso, which she catches and tries to throw him out of the octagon. She succeeds but Pug catches the rope to return to the arena. Pug charges her and tries to deliver more blows, KO gets clotheslined and becomes unsteady. Black Sun flashes her again and makes her miss her uppercut. Pug tries to hit her side but she picks it out and counters with an elbow that Pug intercepts making them grapple a moment. Pug takes her to the arena ropes and pummels her, KO goes on the defense. KO, in desperation, grabs a camera drone to swing at Pug. Pug catches her arm and smashes her in the face. Picking her up by her head Pug tries to knee KO and gets intercepted. Pug sends her back into the corner and rains blows on her and after Black Sun flashes her with the lights Pug takes her in the abdomen savagely and the referee rushes in to call the fight. Pug wins the fight and the crowd goes wild over the victory. The group wins 96,950 Nuyen off of betting on the fight in addition to the payoff not betted gained for disqualifying Tiny making a net gain of Nuyen. Black Sun is paid by Blowback (as well as a bonus they refuse because they made a big bet of their own on the fight) and the group sets out to celebrate Pug’s victory.

The group now has a few choices to make and gets the prize money, deciding not to extort KO’s manager. Raj comes up after the fight and hands Pug a skin patch. Raj also sends an additional 4k to each member after extorting KO’s manager himself and Pug takes the present from Raj. It turns out he is drugged with mild bliss hallucinogens. Outside the arena Black Sun sends the van over and Pug is busy celebrating with Raj and his fans. Pug rolls off into the sunset with his fans and Raj and the others file back into the van to go back to the lockup.

Stream 6: Of Unicorns and Urine Samples

Spending the night in different places, Caber returns to the group to continue talking about executing the plan. Sudo decides to take the morning learning a complex data form. He plays around with the resonance archive and will be studying it on and off for the next week. Pug meanwhile tries to find the perfect place for his troll figure. Blowback brings Caber up to speed on the plan. Blowback is planning to infiltrate the establishment as a reformed criminal looking for a job with Caber posing as his sponsor. From there they can use his maintenance access in order to set up places to perform the dosing. Blowback decides to use a cab company to get to the West Grand in order to maintain a low profile and blend in better.  Blowback gets a call from Raj who explains the motives of the people involved and wondering about the group’s cohesion. Worried about his SIN Blowback pings Sudo in the library to see how Lauri is working on the SIN. Blowback pays Lauri 6000 Nuyen after a significant discount and Blowback gets his Level 3 SIN of Carmine Jacobs. The cab arrives to take “Bernadette” and “Carmine” to the West Grand.

Arriving at the West Grand Blowback decides to follow Caber’s lead and walk into the West Grand’s Lobby. Trying to persuade the receptionist of Blowback’s abilities and qualifications initially the receptionist is weary of hiring directly but they do manage to get to talk to HR about hiring. They tell the HR rep the sob story of a dwarf down on his luck and trying to change his ways. Picked up on an assault charge back in the US when he was running in a Go-Gang (A motorcycle club gang) and transferred to the UK. The security personnel does a background check on his SIN and Caber’s and finds out they might be lying about their identities and threatens to call the MinuteMen Security. Caber tries to negotiate out of it and is offered a chance to leave without causing a scene. They take the chance and leave without a way into the West Grand. The guys go back to the lockup to rethink their strategy.

Once apprised of the situation Sudo suggests that Blowback and Caber keep facetime on their SIN’s to a minimum to avoid having them burn out too easily and might have Lauri make more. The group decides that since their current plan of having Blowback rig the water system of the West Grand is trashed that they could go with another option of delivering the drugs with food or drink. Sudo will continue to study up while the others of the group come up with a different plan. Blowback speaks to fixing Caber’s SIN and trying to set up a promotional deal for the gym. Perhaps trying to drug his food or drink if they invite him to dinner. Likely a charity or promotional event for the downtrodden in the area as Tiny seems intent on this direction. Pug suggests going back to the hotel to look for another way in but Caber shoots him down on that idea. With both Caber and Blowback compromised and Pug already with a story, the only one available is Sudo, who has the personal interface skills of a brick. They decide to probably have the steroid injected into his food or drink by bribing a cook or gym employee. Blowback also considers topical steroid contact, perhaps something like a towel or a water bottle. With this in mind they go to Large and Tiny’s to set up the meet.

At the gym Blowback goes to enter and notices a couple smoking some drugs. They see some membership photos and notice that Bob is a member. Tiny is with another member, so they decide to wait. Blowback takes a heavy bag to train with while Caber looks over his suit and waits on the side. Introducing himself as Carmine’s sponsor Caber speaks to Tiny about organizing an event to help troubled youth in the city and invites him out to eat.  Tiny refuses and instead invites him into the manager's office to discuss the possibilities. Meanwhile Blowback tries to see where the protein shake Tiny was drinking came from trying to drug it. He finds the refrigerator where it might have come from but to no avail. He suggests that Caber look for where the drink came from so he could attempt to drug it later. Caber suggests a charity event to try and help the troubled youth of the area and Tiny suggests a donation of 5000 Nuyen for it. Tiny seems quite unnerved by the elf’s praises and agrees to a dinner to hammer out the details of the event. Outside the office, Blowback reassures Tiny of Caber’s intentions and gets his contact information. Thinking about it, Blowback notices something odd about the gym how, as good a condition as it’s in, Tiny obviously gets more money than he lets on or at least pulls it from personal finances. Blowback and Tiny work out for a while and in the middle of the session he sees Bob walk in, walking over to a human and an elf, and doing… something. After his workout, Blowback gets a bottle of water from the vending machines and tastes something off about it. Nothing he could put his finger on but it's definitely a different taste to it. After linking back up with Caber the two decide to go back to the lockup.

Back at Raj’s Lockup Pug looks up the fighter's MMA forums and looks at how his opponent fights. He sees KO’s fighting style, augmentations, and tech and also looks up the MMA rules to prepare for the fight. Blowback comes back with news of the dinner meet as well as a possible plan with the protein shake as a last resort. Caber suggests dropping out of the deal in order to avoid paying the 5k Nuyen to Tiny. The group is okay with the meet but is concerned with Bob possibly dealing on Tiny’s gym. They decide to try and pin the drugging on Bob to get away clean. They also have to rig the rest of the second testing in order to clear Tiny’s name after the initial dosing that disqualifies him as well as calling a fixer that could supply them with the drugs to be used for the dosing itself.

Caber calls up Jake to pick up some steroids and Blowback checks himself with a medkit to see if there was anything wrong with the water he drank at the gym. The water comes up with disturbing results: The water has several minor doses of street drugs mixed into it including Bliss but the major dosage is Kali, a berserker combat stimulant. Someone is dosing the water in the gym and it is possibly Raj or Bob. They also consider either Tiny or Large drugging the water, although it’s not likely to be Tiny as he also drinks the stuff willingly and wouldn’t intentionally jeopardize his fight career by dosing before a test. If he has been drinking long enough and not knowing about it then the group may already have their work done for them.

The group also consider that Tiny couldn’t possibly keep the gym in such pristine condition, much less rent an apartment at the West Grand on a minor circuit fighter’s pay and conclude he must have side business or possibly some sort of established money keeping him in the good life somehow. The group decide to sort through the information Sudo had Grok scan from the Matrix. His drawn salary from the gym isn’t enough to cover the massive expenses nor is his prize winnings as a fighter. He also dropped out of shadowrunning recently, almost too quickly for Sudo to be comfortable with admitting and did a job involving NeoNET recently.

Before he could go further Blowback’s medkit alerts him to the presence of foreign objects in his body that start rapidly multiplying. Nanites have likely infected him now. He chooses not to inform the others. Back to the discussion, they notice that NeoNET was mentioned in his previous jobs, the same group that had the nanite containment breach in Boston.

Sudo suggests making a few calls to fixers to see if local restaraunts in the area are sympathetic to shadowrunners otherwise they would have to bribe someone to dose the food or do it themselves. Blowback calls up Raj to make sure he isn’t involved in drugging the water, which he says he’s not. Turning away from his own worries, the group goes back to prepping their run. Jake calls Caber to tell him about a dealer who could get them their steroids. Sudo sends Grok to look for information about NeoNET runs, particularly involving ZZZ and Tiny. Several NeoNET sites were hit by anarchist or terrorist groups employing a group of Shadowrunners. Among them were Tiny, Large, ZZZ, and a mage. NeoNET had one facility destroyed that really pissed them off, enough to put a bounty on the perpetrators amounting to 25k Nuyen per each bountyhead, either for the people themselves or information leading to their arrests. The prisoner rehabilitation center NeoNET runs has claims of prisoner mistreatment and abuse on it as well as strange disappearances and changed moods and behaviors of the prisoners sent there. Sudo decides to keep the information to himself for now, feeling a pain of conscience on revealing the bounty to the group.

Caber has a Talismonger, (a merchant of magic items, enchantments, Spell Formulae, and Lore) Pink, he could pull up to get a spell as well as a drug dealer. Comparing it to Blowback’s number in his Comm, they determine the dealer’s comcode is Bob’s number and don’t want to contact him. They contact Pink and try to purchase the Mutual Thought spell formula and the steroids. They don’t get the steroids but haggle (ineffectively) down the price of the spell formula. Caber sends a transfer of 1600 which Pink increases to 1812 and they strike a bargain for the spell formula. Strapping on their heat Caber and Blowback goes out to meet with the Talismonger.

Going to an area outside of London, they come across the address in the middle of a barren field. Going to a hedge and hearing music they peer over and see Pink’s camp. An old car stereo has the music on and Pink appears from the hood. A scruffy dwarf with a dirty appearance emerges and invites Caber in. This little hovel where Pink lives blocks wireless signal and plays the 1812 overture on the commlink. Sudo and Blowback talk over what to do about Caber going dark while Sudo walks back to the Lockup. Caber takes Pink’s (questionable) tea and makes the deal for the spell formula. With the formula in hand Caber asks about if he has Hermetic (magic based more on academic principle and ritual rather than primal relations or naturism like Shamanistic magic) Reagents and Pink has a few that he sells for 120 Nuyen.

When Blowback tries to retrieve Caber he accidentally steps on a trap and Pink thinks he is under attack making him pick up his Uzi and fire wildly at Blowback. Caber stops him and convinces Pink to let him handle the “Intruder”. During the “fight”, where Caber fires a few rounds into the air, Pink’s spirit named Periwinkle, a unicorn looking spirit, attacks Blowback and barely misses goring him. In the back of the van Blowback is scared out of his wits and Caber assures Pink the bad guys are gone. Going back into the hovel, Pink offers him another cup of tea and Caber drinks it, which causes Caber to trip out, leaving his body and astrally perceive himself. He meets Pink in the Astral Plane and upon mentioning Blowback is his friend Pink gets stuck on a thought for a moment and then hastily suggests going back to their body. Pink sends Caber on his way and gives him a box filled with leaves as a gift which turns out to be Deepweed. After this incredible episode Blowback confronts Caber outside, angry at Caber for shooting at him as well as making him dive in the back of the van to dodge a charging spiritual unicorn causing him to knock over the pee sample from Pug and spilling it on himself. Blowback forces Caber in the back and tries to make him roll around in the piss by driving recklessly out of  pure spite. It works and Caber’s suit is covered in Pug’s urine sample.

Back at the lockup the two sit in the cab of the van and Caber, having pocketed his taser earlier from the van, tries to taser Blowback and Sudo tries to disable it by rebooting it. Sudo successfully reboots his taser and it does nothing to Blowback, who storms off for a smoke outside. Pug gets a laugh out of the whole thing and Caber goes off to get his suit dry cleaned. Sudo invokes Glitch to encrypt the file and Grok camouflages it and Caber now has Pink as a contact.

Now they have the job on the horizon, piss to clean, and quite a wacky story for all the Matrix to love.

Stream 5: Tiny

Weary of their friend, Leonid, the group eye the mysterious box. Sudo looks at the tags and it registers as an Aztechnology Rocket Launcher. Blowback opens the box weary of what might be in there. It is indeed a single shot Aztechnology rocket launcher as well as the head of the LoneStar officer that Caber executed. Within the head is a picture of Caber’s execution of the officer with an inscription from Leonid reading, in his heavy handed writing, “good times”. Considering this macabre gift the group like how Leonid operates but Sudo also notes how it could be used for blackmail or coercion. Sudo goes off to sleep while the others consider their next move.

Raj calls Blowback about the next run. They have 9 days to execute the job because of an act of sabotage in the venue with the gas mane. Because of this their pay cut is doubled and the payout from gambling could change. After resting up the group, Blowback decides to destroy the evidence of Caber’s execution of the Lone Star officer. After disabling the fire alarms and with Caber’s help, he drops fire into a large barrel and destroys the head and picture.

Raj returns with snacks in tow and announces a new plan for the job. As well as the original plan of drugging the fighter and trying to win on Pug’s inflated odds, he suggests approaching the fight manager to extort him by telling him to pay to have Pug disqualified and allow the challenger to win. Then they could run with the extortion money before the officials catch on. The group has two problems. One is Pug’s SIN that could be traced through the test used to disqualify Pug. Pug is not comfortable with using his SIN in the operation which can be used to follow his movements and get him caught. Secondly they risk stepping on the toes of anyone else interested in having a hand in the fights whether that be the staff, other gamblers, potential other threats, or criminal elements. Raj tries to think about ways to destroy the sample. Pug decides to not go on the extortion angle and stick to the original plan of drugging the fighter and winning at the gambling cages. The group all grabs a beer and toasts their potential profit. Sudo’s one concern about this is possibly using another substitute while Pug’s life is on the line. Also Raj brings Pug a new Gnome (a toy troll) at Blowback’s request. It’s a crappy little figurine but Pug grudgingly accepts the gift anyways.

Discussing the job ahead they decide to pay the Irish as a priority to avoid making them angry. Calling up the Mob boss they decide to inform him of ZZZ’s “demise”, claiming his death when they really sold him to Leonid. Caber suggests a dead drop for the payment in lieu of the mob’s soldiers picking it up directly in order to keep their location known to as few as possible. They settle on the location of a bin on a street corner and overwatch the case a while until the mobs men show up to claim it. Making the drop Caber is seen by strangers, street thugs, wielding weapons who confront them. Caber tries to talk their way out of the situation in a confrontational manner to no avail and they initiate combat.

Caber draws his holdout pistol and overwatches for an attack. The thug with a bat swings as Caber shoots. Caber hits his mark, wounding the thug, but so does the thug as Caber is smashed to the ground by a baseball bat to the chest. The thugs then decide to stomp him on the ground. Pug, enjoying seeing Caber taken down, stays clear but is soon urged to join combat by Sudo. He then steps between them and stops Caber being stomped telling them to leave and even to take the credstick meant for the Irish Mob with them to ensure they do. Sudo admonishes Pug for not stopping them when it was clear Caber was in danger but Pug hatches a plan to try to assuage his anger. Pug decides to let the Irish collect from their hides, telling the Irish that the drop was in position but was snatched up and giving them the Comcode he collected from the thug, who was impressed with him, so the Irish could go take it back. Once back at Raj’s Garage Blowback puts Caber on the medkit and Sudo, grudgingly, ponies up another 500 Nuyen to pay off the Irish. Caber, waking up from a baseball bat to the chest, asks what happens and, when it's revealed Pug didn’t help him, Caber hands his commlink over and stomps off in understandable frustration leaving Pug to call the Mob Boss. Pug, not convincingly, tries to give the mob boss a choice of either them paying up double the price or the comcode of the one who took his money so they could go collect it themselves. The boss counters he wants both as well as Caber’s actual comcode to track Caber down if they fail to deliver again. Over the next two weeks they have to pay up the 4000 Nuyen or Caber’s knees (and his life) are in mortal peril.

Sudo awakes to meet a contact, Lauri Williams, a forger. Sudo wants to be put up somewhere away from the group to clear his mind from Caber and Pug’s constant feuding. He also requests several SINs from her to be made for the group. Lauri puts him up in her place and cuts him a deal with the SINs. Sudo also forces his way into contacting Caber to berate him for how he approached the situation with the thugs and Caber decides to wire back the 500 Nuyen he received from Sudo as an apology. All the group go to sleep, including Caber who (amazingly) hasn’t slept for a week.

Sudo searches the matrix to have his sprites find information on the fighter. He is a Shadowrunner, at least in part, has some cyberware enhancing his strength, is an adept, and a well trained boxer. He has an address in Westham and is an instructor at the gym he owns (which has a sterling reputation), Large and Tiny’s, and has a signature move Pug better watch for in the fight. Looking up Large, he is an elf that co-owns the gym.

Sudo goes back to Lauri’s room where she worked all night to get the SINs ready and gets breakfast as well as getting Bit and Byte onto maintenance her boat’s engine. Blowback calls for the group to come together for a meeting. Caber ignores it and decides to get his suit cleaned and his mind straight, still angry about Pug leaving him to the hands of the muggers.

Back at the garage the van is now pink, there is a large crater where ZZZ fired the cannon, and the group gathers to chat tactics. The group talks among them and sorts out some long standing issues between them. Sudo and Pug are angry about Caber running his mouth and provoking the thugs to attack him and Sudo is angry at Pug for standing idle while Caber was attacked and letting them take the money meant to pay off the mob. Blowback tries to rally the team and Sudo does grudgingly forgive Pug for leaving Caber but not for the money.

Turning to the task at hand they discuss Tiny’s Shadowrunning career and what Sudo has uncovered. Tiny being a Shadowrunner makes the group reconsider their plan, extending the professional courtesy to him afforded to anyone in the business. Sudo notes that implicating him in drugs could ruin his reputation in the public eye. To the execution of the plan however Blowback proposes rigging his plumbing with Jazz so he could absorb it in regular showering. Sudo looks for different methods of dispensing drugs to make him ingest it. In trying to scout out more potential methods of drugging Tiny, Sudo suggests he could mess with the sample but determines it would not be fast enough to impact the job. Blowback suggests possibly using harder drugs but backs off on the thought he would probably kill Tiny if they get the dosing wrong. They choose to go with safer alternatives. Delivery of the drug is another significant challenge. The plan seems to be Caber delivering or dosing him. Otherwise they could hire an outsider to try and deliver them. Either way the group doesn’t want their names associated with the job. Sudo also suggests messing with the second test results in order to clear his name. A fallback plan in order to not screw his reputation up. Eventually the group decides on all of the plans in unison. Small doses that add up, not enough to hurt but enough to notice. With this plan, they decide to pull some leg work to get a clear range of their options and follow him around to see where he goes and when they could use the Jazz.

Blowback, after purchasing his disguise, suggests bribing the person administering the test. However the crew decides to use this as the last resort, a nuclear option in case the drek hits the fan at the last moment. If they can not do this then the run is a bust as the crew aren’t interested in attacking or abducting Tiny (if that’s even possible). To facilitate the drugging, Blowback plans to become a maintenance man to gain access to Tiny’s high life apartment plumbing system and Caber & Sudo will also do leg work following Tiny to his usual hangouts and his apartment to find opportunities to exploit. Pug would go around and talk to the residents in High Life to see if there are more exploitable opportunities.

Pug sets off for the West Grand complex Tiny stays at. Upon making his arrival the doorman doubts he could afford an apartment (being a troll) but after acting offended on Sudo’s advice he gains entry. After a terse meeting with an agent of the apartments Pug is ushered into an elevator that sends him to the basement where 3 security guards await him saying he failed a SIN check and that the Minutemen are on the way. After Pug claims racism at the hands of the security staff, the Minutemen get called away by a burglary and the security officers offer their apologies to Pug. Going back up Pug is met by a human that notes Pug’s true SIN is associated with Ares Macrotechnology (The World’s leading MegaCorporation in defense and aerospace technology and the 7th largest Corporation in the world), which shocks the rest of the group. The agent shows Pug around the troll sized apartment and its various facilities mapping out the areas and seeing Tiny as well as the sauna and showers. Pug does well with the meeting and records everything Sudo asks him to, orders drinks, and go home with an offer of 84,999 Spectra per month.

Returning home Sudo conducts his information search on Pug’s parents on Ares. Pug’s mother Eowyn Davenport was on weapon design and his father David Davenport was a marketing mogul. He briefly goes off work to raise his son Eric (Pug) but the trail quickly goes cold after that. Also of note is Pug was goblinized as both of his parents are human. Sudo decides to not tell the others what he learned.

Sudo sorts through the data and identifies points that the group could use to administer the Jazz or steroids to Tiny. They consider looking for fixers to try and get a strong fix of drugs to use for the dosing. With this information Sudo and Blowback consider scoping out the gym. Not wanting to show Pug’s face too much Blowback decides to scope out the gym. While looking over the VR brochure he gives a good thorough look at the equipment and possibilities. Tiny meets with Blowback under the alias of Carmine as a fan. Tiny comes across as a very polite and humble and gives him a quick show of the facilities. He even points out Bob (a junkie from an earlier run who helped them get into an area where the group stole someone’s drugs. Bob OD’d after looting the place and Blowback saved him). Blowback is offered a free training session to show off the facilities and throws a good punch to Tiny but Tiny suggests he train with Large, the elf.

With Tiny being a generous and kind man Sudo strongly suggests rigging the test to save Tiny’s reputation. Sneaking out the door Blowback sees Bob possibly dealing but can’t get much detail. Sudo takes Lauri out for the night as thanks for her help and Caber meets up with his fixer Jake at Kevin’s club to try and procure some items. He then finds a lady for himself and a man for Kevin and enjoys the rest of the night.

Now with the job looming Blowback requests Sudo finds a new SIN for him and he asks Lauri in turn. Lauri hands him his new SIN and decides to take the job of creating one for Blowback. The group now has to face the task of drugging Tiny while trying not to ruin his reputation in the process.

Stream 4: Dwarf Deliberations

In a car park in the east end of London, the group argues about where to take Peterson. They go to Pug’s Orbital South Safehouse in order to hide Peterson until they figure out what to do. They decide to try and seek out a medical professional for him. Blowback knows a contact named Raj who might know a place where they could take Peterson to keep him alive after his impromptu surgery to properly investigate the anomaly inside him. After debating whether or not to investigate further, they go to Pugs place.

Caber notices a logical problem with the Irish mob trying to collect with Peterson. Meanwhile Blowback sweeps tags up and Sudo looks into the Matrix to try and look for more thorough information on the Nanotech possibly within Peterson. Blowback and Caber walks to the store to pick up supplies to clean up their messy bloodstained van. Blowback and Pug start cleaning the van with the supplies, hoping to scrub out all the blood and gore so nothing could be magically traced to them. Blowback becomes nauseous from the fumes and loans some bleach to Caber to fix his suit. To prove he is good for more than getting punched in the face and owing money, Caber clears the garage of fumes and ruins his suit pants in the process.

Sudo’s searches turn up information about companies like Evo losing money on Nanite technology and how Nanotech can use raw material to fabricate weapons and items at a rapid pace. However the markets oversaturated with these replicators are crashing and companies are losing money causing them to shut down nanite research. Looking into medical resources he sees medical nanites and how their structure and function work with the body to reproduce and accelerate healing using raw resources from the body. Focusing more on data streams, Sudo HotSims into the matrix to find the hive of the Nanites within Peterson to try to isolate and interrogate them.

Blowback calls up his contact Raj, an Orc buddy that he did hard time with, and tries to negotiate for a contact with a medical shop as well as detailing on the van. Taking Peterson to another room they tie him up and gag him while Sudo tries to locate a possible nanite hive within him. Caber takes a shot at Billy the Gnome and destroys it. At this point Lonestar officers assault the safehouse. Taken by surprise, Blowback in his underwear cleaning, Sudo HotSimmed to the Matrix, and Caber caught off guard they commence combat. Sudo is awakened from his HotSim and joins combat with Pug while Blowback and Caber engage the officers. Fire is exchanged, Sudo sabotages the weapons while Blowback orders one with a sabotaged weapon to the ground and Pug drops an elbow on one disarming him. After a severely bad turn of combat the officer attacking Caber has a ricochet back into himself but isn’t severely harmed. Pug engages one with his fist and Sudo is tasered by an officer who shocks himself in the process after Sudo’s sprite sabotages the taser, knocking both to the ground. Sudo jams the officers comms to prevent reinforcements and the last cop is killed. A final tally is two Lonestar Officers down and two incapacitated… And one smashed Garden Gnome. Recovering from the raid on the safehouse, the group is left to wander the aftermath and discover how Lone Star tracked them down.

The officers are stripped and one put in the back of the van. Blowback sets the demolition for the hideout. They race against the clock as Lone Star is closing in. Two dead inside and the other stunned officer outside the house, they peel out in the van and run from the house. Setting the bomb trigger to motion sensing, Lonestar swarm the house and Blowback detonates the bomb, destroying the house and hiding the evidence. With the van hours away, the Lone Star officer wakes up to a gun in his face courtesy of Caber. Caber interrogates the officer who reveals that an astral mage tracked them to the house and confirmed their identities matching their fake SINs. Content with the news they slipped up and not angered any allies Sudo knocks out the officer with his shockgloves. With their house destroyed Blowback calls up Raj to try and lay low. Raj delivers with a place to hide the car and allow them to stay off the grid a few days.

While debating what to do with the cop, they notice his broken nose is healing quickly. In a panic they decide to dump the officer in an alleyway with the sword they took from the Yakuza, covering their own tracks and possibly pinning the murder on the Yakuza. Pug picks the sword up to decapitate the officer but is surprised when the officer breaks his bonds and flees. Blowback tries to run him down with the van. After hitting him with the van Caber stabs a Wakazashi blade through his head. After a man tries to call Lone Star they decide to cut the officer’s head off and speed off to Raj’s garage.

At Raj’s place, they try to wash off the blood and negotiate their settlements. Raj offers to change up the van and offers the group a job. Raj talks to them about an underground fighting ring trying to go legitimate and how a certain group wants a certain contender off the circuit. Raj says the interested party suggests using a drug to dope the fighter and make him fail a drug test to get him disqualified from the circuit. He then proposes Pug as a replacement fighter. He tells him that a female cybered up Ork is the opponent and if he can win they could make money on the gambling on inflated odds as well as with payment for the job. They agree to see what happens and take the job.

Sudo and Caber speak together and determine they might have a problem. If they were tracked before and didn’t clean thoroughly they might be tracked again. Sudo goes off to check his wounds and decides to get treatment. Suddenly ZZZ, woken up from the back of the van and armed with Pug’s cannon, fires a shot from the assault cannon but misses. Pug tackles him and ZZZ drives a screwdriver through his arm. Knocking him out again Blowback checks for Nanites with the medkit as he did for the others. While searching for a way to restrain Peterson and prevent any more incidents, Leonid calls Caber to talk about the dwarf and cyberware, raising his price to 3000 Nuyen and pushes him to deliver. They decide to have Leonid’s men to pick him up for time to figure out the Nanites. While tying Peterson up with iron chains from the shop, the medkit accidentally defibrillates Pug and they decide to trash it. Sudo, worried about the recent events, decides to jack into the matrix to try and see the nanite hive. Blowback suggests they get new SINs from Leonid since Lone Star already pulled their current SINs to confirm their identity after tracking them. Sudo tries to HotSim into the matrix but falls asleep from exhaustion. Pug also falls asleep and Blowback draws blood from ZZZ to analyze later. Caber calls up Leonid to set up the drop and they negotiate the price of extra sins.

When Leonid rolls up with his men, they greet and exchange payment with each other along with a bonus crate. Now with the crate looming, the dwarf gone with the Vory, Pug possibly infected by nanites, and a new job on their radar, the group will be left to ponder their next move.

RUN SUCCESSFUL

Stream 3: Metal From Flesh

Going off from Jake’s information Blowback tends to Caber’s wounds and the group searches for information on the apartment complex. Blowback notes that the Irish mob has a stake in the area and Sudo suggests they try to inform the mob of their presence, both to avoid territorial conflict and search for opportunities for business, at the cost of maybe tipping the Yakuza off. After heated debate with Caber, worried of giving away their element of surprise, they decide to inform the mob of their purpose to avoid overstepping any boundaries.

The group go to The Old Isle Pub where the Irish Mob operates to speak to the local crime bosses. Caber and Sudo choose to go into the pub to speak with the mob while Pug and Blowback choose to stay in the background. After an awkward and tense situation with spilling a Dwarf’s drink, the two order drinks and friendly jesting ensues before Caber approaches the ones at the back and Sudo watches from afar. Following a tense introduction, Caber tells the mob bosses his purpose and is invited to sit, albeit under threat of a gun to his back. Sudo tries to see the gun but is discovered and set next to Caber. Caber tells the bosses their mission but lies about the area ZZZ is held and why they are going after him, which the others disagree with. The mob boss O’Brien agree about his mission initially but demand that he pay a gift of 2000 Nuyen for operating in their territory. Caber agrees to pay and makes a joke at the boss's expense which gets him a punch to the face, flooring him. The mob boss attempts to aside Sudo to find Caber’s real intention for finding the decker. Sudo lies, saying the decker had sex with Cabers’ wife, and the boss believes him, but still is weary of them. With the blessing of the Mob (and once again tending to Caber’s wounds) the group makes plans to infiltrate the apartment complex. Contacting the mob boss to reveal the real location ZZZ is held, the boss requests the dwarf for himself in exchange for dropping Caber’s payment by half. The group concludes that ‘alive’ and ‘unharmed’ are not one in the same and consider taking the cyberware to the Russians and the Dwarf to the Irish.

While they argue, the autonav brings them to the apartment complex where the Yakuza soldiers outside confront them and the group ready for a firefight. Blowback rams a soldier with the van and knocks him down while the other fires at the van doing negligible damage. Pug with his assault cannon destroys both soldiers and potentially attracts more to the area.

Donning their masks the group enters the apartment complex and encounters more soldiers inside. Sudo searches with his sprite for the decker while they engage the soldiers. A Yakuza reinforcement wielding a katana and an air elemental attack wounding Pug and engulfing Caber, knocking him unconscious, respectively. Pug finishes off the final thug and Sudo and Blowback shoots the air elemental to destroy it. Keeping the door to the elevator jammed the group revives Caber and treats Pug while Sudo tries to locate ZZZ. After Sudo’s sprite Grok locates ZZZ on the fourth floor the group rush up to extract him setting a grenade trap behind them. ZZZ tries to attack the group's wireless cyberware which tries to blow up the grenade trap and attack’s Pug’s reflexes. Sudo stops the grenade hack and sends Grue to attack ZZZ’s cyberdeck to disable and reboot it. Grue is able to defeat his defenses and succeeds to reboot the deck stopping his attack on Pug. Meanwhile in meatspace Blowback checks the door for explosives and prepares to breach the door while Sudo HotSims into the Matrix to intimidate him into submission. ZZZ tries to escape but Pug tackles him and knocks him out before he can exit through the window. Returning to the van, the group jumps into the van and runs from approaching sirens but in a panic hit a car and stall out. Blowback manages to restart the van with Sudo’s sprites help and get around the corner before the police find them, very narrowly escaping.

Using the vans GridGuide to drive off to a remote location, Blowback went back to remove the cybertech and Sudo to cover their tracks with disabling wireless devices. Using their medkit Blowback and the others try to remove the cyberware from Peterson’s body and remove the deck from his skull successfully. Noticing ZZZ’s wounds are healing faster than expected Blowback sees possible nanites or genetech healing him faster. Removing his cybereyes Blowback makes an error in the surgery and seriously harms him (possibly a small bit of brain damage) but manages to stabilize him and stop his bleeding. After the successful surgery Sudo suggests that they look further into why he is wanted by the Vory and the Irish Mob. Blowback then also suggests they contact the Vory to see if they are aware the Irish wants him and if turning him over would be detrimental. The group debate whether or not to offer the Vory or the Irish, both willing to pay handsomely, the dwarf or the cyberware with so much mystery afoot. Sudo, searching rumors on the matrix, have seen that the corporations are trying to drop nanotech from their products, replacing their stocks with lesser versions and substitutes and that Boston in the Americas is quarantined against Nanotech going rogue. The group consider that something greater is at work than a simple bounty and look for more information to debate their next move.

Sudo sends Grok to discover something…. Else within Petersen. A faint wireless signal that Grok cannot figure out. Trying to stall for time to figure the mystery out they tell the Vory that they need time to evade the heat brought down on them by the assault. Now the group is left with a mystery to solve about Peterson and a decision of what faction to offer him to… Or if they even should.

After stabilising Peterson, Caber receives a call from Jake, his fence contact. Killing the sword wielding Yakuza Shateigashiera (Junior Lieutenant) Ren Okamoto and stealing his blade has angered the Yakuza greatly and gotten the group on the Yakuza’s radar. In addition Pug firing an assault cannon in a residential area has Lone Star out in force strengthening their case to arrest or kill them. The heat will be on them now and the danger will only grow as they unravel the mystery.

Stream 2: A Pound Of Chrome

With the job attacking the van finished, 3 days passed. The Johnson from the Vory called Caber back for a meet for another job, Sudo sold off the footage of Lone Star shooting the prisoner on the Matrix for a hefty sum of 200 Nuyen, Lone Star has a partial ID on Caber, Pug, and Blowback, and all got ballistic masks to hide their identities, and now they are at the meet with the Johnson, seeing the target they rescued before, a Vory associate named Leonid Kaslov, alive and well. In an act of vengeance the Johnson brings the Lone Star who shot the prisoner in front of Caber and hands him a pistol. Caber, to prove he is both willing and able to do what it takes, chooses to execute the officer in front of Leonid and the Johnson. To show mutual trust, the two men that had tried to set the four up before at Kevin’s nightclub are executed by the Johnson in front of them. The job is to retrieve a dwarven decker that went rogue from the organization and more specifically the gear gifted to him: an internal jack and a pair of special cyber-eyes. The group accepts and forms an uneasy partnership with the Johnson.

They are on the trail of the Decker, “ZZZ” aka Zachary Peterson, trying to track his location to capture him for the Johnson. The Decker is a low level skill decker from what Sudo has gathered from the Matrix, addicted to Better-Than-Life chips and doing occasional Shadowrunning for extra Nuyen and previously employed by the White Vory in South London. While out for pizza Caber and the others run across a suspicious individual who flees on a motorcycle they believe is their man but do not pursue him. Following the license plate of the motorcycle Sudo looks up information on the cycle and ZZZ’s previous fellow shadowrunners, Deadbolt and Shooter. Sudo contacts Shooter and Pug interrogates local druggies for information but is interrupted by Kevin, angry about paying off the damages to his nightclub. After Kevin’s insistent pestering the group finally agree to pay off the damages and return home.

Sudo’s search for the license plate bares fruit giving information for the owner. It leads to a laundromat in Dagenham, an area owned by Renraku and the Japanese Yakuza, which they choose to investigate. Upon stakeing the area out and dealing with a testy old troll the group notices that armed enemies are everywhere, probably Yakuza, and they confront Caber and Sudo in the laundromat. Trying to ask where his mark is, the soldiers confronting him send him away and he and Sudo leave. Pug attempts to speak to them but finds nothing further and also gets waved away. Pushing again for information Caber speaks to the men in the nearby alleyway and they move to box him in. Upon mention of ZZZ the men offer him an invitation in and shortly after force him into a nearby door, leaving the other three to panic and retreat to the van.

Meeting the Yakuza boss, Caber is interrogated about his business here. Ultimately he talks his way out of the confrontation, but not without harm. The group, once Caber is free, wisely decide to leave without confronting the Yakuza soldiers. A call to Jake and a credit transfer later digs up information about a possible prisoner of the Yakuza and his location, a solid lead the group could follow, a run-down apartment complex on the other side of Dagenham…

Stream 1: It All Hits The Van

Fresh from their near miss with the drug dealers at Kevin’s nightclub and Caber owing a substantial sum from the damages; Sudo, Caber, Blowback, and Pug are contacted by a Johnson in the city. The Johnson, a Troll with a Russian accent, a member of the Russian Vory, offers the group a job to extract a prisoner in Lone Star custody known as Valentine Kaslov. The prisoner will be transferred to another prison by motorcade that the group plans to ambush in transit. With a few days to prepare the group tries to learn more about the man they work for and the prisoner but finds only rumors and whispers. With no more time to prepare they go to the ambush point. In the set-up, Caber alerts an elderly couple who owns the building he is set up on and faces them calling Lone Star. With no choice, Caber shoots and disables both of them, but not kills them.

The motorcade transporting the prisoner is larger than the Johnson’s intelligence had indicated, however they choose to attack it anyways. With Sudo sabotaging the cars and weapons the officers are quickly dispatched using non-lethal ammunition, although one officer was seriously injured and Pug was knocked unconscious by a flashbang. When an officer went to go for a shotgun in the trunk of his cruiser to cover the officers escorting the prisoner from the van, Sudo attacked his shotgun causing it to misfire and seriously wound the prisoner. Prologue (currently under construction):

Fast Food Firefight: The group were coming back after <redacted> and Pug got really hungry. He ended up convincing blowback to stop the van at a convenience store to grab a soy pizza. Pug was busy watching this pizza spin in the microwave so Caber decides to grab a coffee, Sudo was waiting beside Pug, and Blowback decided to play an arcade machine. Later on 2 guys come in, one was a dwarf screaming "get on the ground". Caber looks at them and looks at Pug and laughs. The dwarf comes up to Caber point blank with a rifle, he points the rifle at Pug telling him to get on the floor while standing beside him. Caber burst out laughing and then sighed, pulling out his handgun and shot him. The robber then turns to Caber and shoots him square in the chest. Caber runs round into the staff area and take cover behind a wall at a door. Sudo labels the guys the dwarf he calls Half-Step except to Blowback who he makes the guy labeled Full-Step.

Breaking Bob: The group is hired by a Johnson to knock over a local drug lord and take him and his operation out of business permanently. After doing recon and stocking up appropriately they sneak into the base of operations and tear up the place with gunfire. In the middle of the operation they run into an Orc named Bob who is dying of an overdose of drugs. Blowback takes the merciful route and uses his medkit to heal him up. Afterward the chummy and grateful Orc thanks Blowback and gets his commcode. After a brutal gunfight the crew disposes of the dealer and leaves.

Later at the Cargo Nightclub the guys are chilling out and having down time when… Shooting breaks out. Some of the drug dealers agents are coming for revenge. A rogue hand grenade and several bullets later the place is in ruins and Kevin is pissed off about the damages. The group goes back home to think of ways to repay him.

Cast of The Shadows

EnterElysium: GM and Narrator

The Shadowrunners:

Aavak: Sudo the Human Technomancer (and his sprites: Bit, Byte, Glitch, Grok, Grue, Hazel, and Digital Agent HAL): A wizard of the Matrix and the group’s cyberwarfare expert. Not exactly a people person. Season 1 Fate: Escapes with Blowback after the compound raid and ran away with a new identity.

Shenryyr: Pug the Troll Street Samurai; Came from a good life to the shadows. The group’s meatspace muscle and all around badass in combat. Season 1 Fate: Captured by the Church of the New Dawn and taken to an unknown location.

Steejo: Caber the Elf Face/part-time Mage (And his Mentor Spirit); Arrogant, greedy, and an appearance and smooth voice that would make you smile wide as he rifled through your pockets for valuables. A true 11/10. Season 1 Fate: Captured by the Church of the New Dawn and taken to an unknown location.

Splattercat: Blowback the Dwarf Rigger/Wheelman (And his digital agent Zlata); Rough and tumble former Go-Ganger who can fix and drive anything with an engine. His forward thinking and experience has gotten the team out of several tough jams. Season 1 Fate: Escapes with Sudo after the compound raid and ran away with a new identity.

Runners, Lowlives, and other odd-fellows

Kevin: Caber’s friend and owner of the Cargo Nightclub. Pissed off about the night Caber and co. shot up the place with drug dealers on their six. He has since been paid for the damages and all is forgiven. Had one of his bouncers geeked by a mage while he was with Caber chasing after Deadbolt. He’s been targeted by the conspiracy for his connection to Caber. Appears to be clear of nanites for now.

Bob: An Orc who the team helped save from an overdose on their mission to knock over a local drug dealer’s stash. He has since set himself up nicely with all the drug stash they left lying around and became a dealer himself. Seems to be one of the core members in a mass conspiracy. In league with NeoNet whether by choice or by force.

Leonid Kaslov: The Group’s contact inside the Russian Vory Crime Syndicate. Prone to brutality and also taking joy in the macabre display of watching Caber execute a Lone Star officer and sent his head as a gift to him. Dangerous, unstable, but a good source of income. Rescued from a Lone Star prisoner transport where he was kept under an alias. One of his associates, Mikhail seems to be in the surveillance photos because of his contacts and usefulness to NeoNet. Leonid ordered his execution after being informed of his infection by the nanites.

Mikhail: A Russian Vory associate. In the surveillance photos because of his power as a mage and apparently abducted. Used to get a drone for the bombing of Caber’s flat for the nanite conspiracy. Confirmed compromised by the nanite conspiracy. Final Fate: After Pug breaks the news of Mikhail’s infection to Leonid, Leonid orders his men to execute him immediately.

Beatrice and David Jameson: An old married couple that threatened Caber’s sniping position on the mission to extract Leonid from Lone Star custody. As a result Caber shot them with gel rounds from his rifle. Sudo has been helping them along with their medical bills. They run into David in the sewers where he was infected with the HMHVV. David is now a ghoul. Final Fate: Beatrice, unfortunately, died after his Ghoul condition made him devour her. David, a slathering starving ghoul, attacks the group and Blowback blasts him with his AK to the head.

Zachary “ZZZ” Peterson: Dwarf Decker and former Shadowrunner. Was tracked down in a Yakuza stronghold by the group and captured successfully. Had his eyes and his jack removed by surgery. Turned over to Leonid and the Vory. First contact the group had with the ever present Nanotech that NeoNet seems to have a connection with. Seems to be one of the core members of a mass conspiracy. Final Fate: Became a corpse in the custody of the Vory.

“Deadbolt and Shooter”: “ZZZ”’s former Runner team. Not exactly his biggest fans. In the surveillance photos for their shadowrunning experience and were brought over to the nanite conspiracy’s side. Deadbolt met with Caber at Cargo for a drink to discuss the current situation. Deadbolt attacked Caber to draw a vial of his blood and later attacked Pug and Blowback at Raj’s lockup. Shooter attacked Sudo and Caber with a sniper rifle at Lydia’s street clinic. Deadbolt’s Final Fate: Dead after Pug smashed him with an interception hit while trying to retreat. Shooter’s Final Fate: Dead from Doc Wagon’s helicopter minigun perforating him on his sniper perch. Deadbolt’s body had nanites in it and it's not a stretch to think Shooter’s is infected as well.

Jake Eckhardt: Caber’s Fence contact for anything more or less illegal from drugs, tech, info, or even other Runners. Included in the surveillance photos from Deadbolt’s commlink for unknown reasons.

O’Brien: Elvish proprietor of the Old Isle Pub. Highly suspected to be an Irish Mob boss. Demanded a gift be paid to operate in the Mob’s territory which the group stiffed him on. This disrespect doesn’t sit well with him. Has smashed Caber in the face on Caber’s insinuations of his sexuality and has a strong obsession with breaking kneecaps. His bodyguard is in the surveillance photos because he is a target the nanite conspiracy could turn for their own devices. He eventually drops the debt for Shooter being killed by the group. Not turned by the nanite conspiracy yet.

Yakuza Oyabun: Head of the local Yakuza crime syndicate. Interested in “ZZZ” for some reason and wants to keep him away from the other syndicates. Is likely mad that so many of his soldiers are dying recently. Had a soldier pistol whip Caber in the back of the head for his brash attitude.

Billy The Gnome: Pug’s favorite Garden Gnome. Destroyed by Caber after he shoots Billy with his EBR. Replaced by a troll figure Raj got Pug. #blamecaber #rememberbilly #pressftopayrespects

Ren Okamoto: Japanese Yakuza junior officer killed in the attempt to capture Peterson. Wielded an officer’s katana which, unlike anime would have you believe, is NOT effective in a gun battle.

‘Little’ Raj: Blowback’s gold chained pimped out Orc Sikh friend who he did time with in the slammer. Owns a local vehicle lockup in London. Overall party animal and provider of illegal goods but really chummy guy. Had his truck destroyed by a drone bomb. Attacked by Deadbolt and saved by Pug and Blowback. Spent time in the care of his own men to recover from Deadbolt’s attack. He seems to be okay.

Lauri Williams: Sudo’s Forger contact. If you need SIN’s or other forms of official looking documents, she is one of the best in the business. Sudo says they are not together and only have a professional relationship (yet to be believed by most of chat). Threatened by Large and used as a hostage to draw out Sudo into confrontation. Laying low for now for her own safety.

“Tiny”: A former Troll Shadowrunner, owner of his own brand name gym, and minor circuit boxer/MMA fighter that the team got disqualified from his first legit league fight by framing him using drugs. He seems to be a nice guy…. At first. It seems he has a separate flow of income to maintain such a high lifestyle other than his gym and minors circuit career. Has also smashed Caber in the face and threw him in a ditch. Seems to be one of the core members of a mass conspiracy. Is currently afraid of his partner Large for his erratic behavior and being stolen from. He tried to assault Blowback in his van after Blowback gave him information about recent events. After fighting Blowback he seemed to “snap out” of his apparent possession by the nanites and followed the group to Lydia’s street clinic where he attacked the group again. Caber, Lydia, and Blowback fired on him until he fell over. Final Fate: After the fight in Lydia’s clinic Blowback stuck his gun in Tiny’s mouth and executed him.

“Large”: An Elven businessman and Tiny’s partner co-owning the Gym. Shows up as the announcer/referee from the MMA fight strangely enough. Much more to him we aren’t seeing as this man is always watching intently. Seen behaving erratically and skimming from his partner’s account. Seems to be one of the core members of a mass conspiracy. Has been taking and dealing in nanites from Lydia’s clinic. Apparently the ringleader in the conspiracy revolving around the nanites and NeoNet. Contacts Sudo about something “in (his) head” that could “set ‘us’ free” . Threatens Lauri to draw out Sudo and the group try to setup for the meet if anything goes wrong. At the meet, it’s revealed he and Sudo have a history with the Deus AI outbreak and the subsequent shadowrun in Wales with the nanite outbreak. The confrontation on the bridge left him severely wounded from Periwinkles horn. He was carried off by an Ares security team after the battle at Kingsbridge.

“Pink” (and his spirit summon Perriwinkle): An eccentric Dwarf Talismonger who suffers from delusions and caused the infamous “Urinecorn” incident. ‘Might’ be a bit unstable. Uses copious amounts of product. His “special tea” gave Caber the ability to astrally perceive. Strangely obsessed with the 1812 overture. Seems to be one of the core members of a mass conspiracy. Arrived with Large at the bridge and Caber turned him against Large. Tries to leg it with the help of an air elemental and gets hit by Blowback’s shot. He was carried off by the Ares security team after the battle at Kingsbridge. Caber seems to have a genuine feeling of friendship for him. Final Fate: Periwinkle exploded in a bomb of glitter and magic when Blowback shot it with his assault rifle.

“K.O.” Harris: Orc MMA fighter/Boxer. Heavily teched out. Was meant to fight against Tiny but he was replaced by Pug. Had her grandmother threatened by the group. Pug won a stellar victory against her in the ring (although they had cheated her in several ways).

“Black Sun”: A Troll(?) Decker Shadowrunner filling in for Sudo while on he was on his research trips to Wales. Provides hacking support and security overwatch remotely for several jobs at a price. Suddenly left the job after Sudo revealed his mind was carrying a fragment of the Deus AI. Might be an unlicensed AI themself (but nothing is certain, is it?). Authoring this Story Summary. Possible female? Does not trust Sudo for his association with Deus.

Rebecca Brookes: Sudo’s information broker contact. Sudo saved her from a tight spot back in the day and he called in the favor for her to give detailed maps out of the London sewers and to a supply cache on the Thames River. An entire old naval light cruiser full of it.

Chang Nakano: A man murdered by the Yakuza underboss Takage. Presumably a member of the Yakuza himself or somebody related enough to be a victim of Takage’s wrath.

Miss Nakano (Real name:???): Claims to be Chang’s daughter. Hired the crew to kill Yakuza for a bounty and bring her Underboss Takage.

Miyo: Pug’s Yakuza contact. Useful for intel on the Yaks and procuring equipment.

Waka-Gashira Hiroshi Takage: Yakuza underboss and a ruthless one to boot. Started geeking his associates under suspicion of treachery. Was kidnapped by the Shadowrunners and taken to Miss Nakano for a very brutal funeral. Final Fate: Gutted and cremated alive.

Female Elf Corporate Johnson (Real name ???): Unknown Elf woman working for a rival firm of Saeder-Krupp, likely NeoNet. Hired the group to abduct Scott Baker from a boat in the arctic. In the surveillance photos for being a possible NeoNet double agent. Possibly assassinated but her fate is currently unknown.

Ryan: Caber’s smuggling contact. Well versed in moving illegal goods and piloting. Lends his VTOL piloting skills for a mission to abduct Baker during an arctic storm.

Scott Baker: Target for abduction. Scientist (formerly) in the employ of Saeder-Krupp researching in the Arctic. Rather insufferable jerk. Secretly a mage. Successfully abducted by the runners and given to a rival firm in record time.

Ben Ward: A former shadowrunner associate of Bob. Tried to attack Sudo and Blowback in his car. Revealed to be secretly spying on many prominent figures in the shadowrunning community and corporate/criminal circles. Final Fate: Dead by high speed car crash into a line of cars.

Layla Jones: A former shadowrunner associate of Bob. Tried to attack Sudo and Blowback in her car. Revealed to be secretly spying on many prominent figures in the shadowrunning community and corporate/criminal circles. Final Fate: Dead by high speed car crash into a central London night club killing several people in the process.

“Twin”: A female elf gunslinger that Sudo knew back when he was trying to join the shadowrunning community. In the surveillance photos because she is a target for the nanite conspiracy.

Fred Jones: Registered owner of the commlink used to attack the team's equipment. Likely an alias but who knows?

Lydia “Teapot”: Caber’s street doc contact. Saved Caber’s life during the sniper attack on the clinic. Identified several important pieces of the puzzle with her medical knowledge about the nanite conspiracy. Helped the team take down Tiny in the clinic with her shotgun.

Jeremy: Pug’s contact. Former friend, worked with Ares with his parents, offers to strike at Large for a price. Outfits the group with Ares artillery to the hilt. Is less than pleased to see his gauss rifle wrecked and sniper rifle barrel bent. His Ares team arrests Large and Pink after the fight at Kingsbridge.

Liechtenstein “Licky” Von London IV (Real Name:???): A vampire the group released from the sealed off portion of the Belfast. Seems trustworthy for a vampire. They allowed him to leave at night unabated.

Jack Davenport: A young corporate heir that ran off to join the Church of the New Dawn in the Scottish Highlands. His parents want him back. Actually Pug’s cousin who he doesn’t want to have a happy reunion with. The group is hired to extract him from the Church of the New Dawn compound and they do so successfully before handing him off to Jeremy for safe return.

Joseph Shaw: A staunch opponent of the Church of the New Dawn. A big guy who is properly paranoid about what the church does that is being hunted by their agents.

Jenette Lovelace: Joseph Shaw’s girlfriend. Several japanese looking suits tried to assassinate her which Caber prevented by having them off each other.

Jaime (Jimmy): A young Bellhop from the Bellevue Hotel the group stayed at.

Glenn: A Scottish fixer. He retired after a run claimed his leg and he got a replacement. He ran missions into the forest for retrieval missions and scouted out a significant portion of it. He is in the retainer of Aztechnology and may have been loaned to the church to get land freed up for their compound. All of his Shadowrunner associates for the Church run died about a year after in the forest looking for a unicorn for Aztechnology. Rumored he was on Aztech’s payroll for a time. Seems to be working for the church and now is not to be trusted.

Kelt: A shaman fixer who lives in Scotland’s awakened forest. Shuns technology. Disgusted with the cult. They enlist her help to try and get a sleeping agent and help for Blowback. She isn’t able to help Blowback but agrees to help out the group by making a distraction in exchange for their promise to kill Mirage. Final Fate: She helps the crew with the attack on the compound but dies when Mirage possesses her body while she astrally projects and she grows tired and fades.

SuitandTye: Low level Johnson Fixer in Scotland.

David Mirage: Leader of the Church of the New Dawn. A self-established holy figure in the Chruch. Joseph Shaw is paying the group to assassinate him and expose his crimes to the world. Hasn’t been seen in years however and getting to him will be a significant challenge. The team even proposes he may not even be alive to kill. They find him in his castle with two children who he orders one to kill himself and the other to be a bullet shield. Mirage gets shredded by Pug’s assault cannon during the confrontation in the castle. HOWEVER it isn’t his death. Mirage possesses a child and compels Pug and Caber to kill themselves but fails. Pug kills the child with his axe. After Mirage possesses another child he convinces Pug to shoot himself and succeeds. Pug survives and fires at Mirage’s possession. He then (possibly) possesses Celt’s body and is still on the run.
