ETHAN’S HIT A ROUGH SPOT
So I caught my dad in bed with my ex-girlfriend.
My best friend cancelled our plans to celebrate my birthday.
Decided to drink away the betrayal.
Made out with a cardboard cutout of a celebrity in front of my new roommates.
Got in a bar fight.
Hooked up with that pretty bartender whose sad smile I’ve secretly been painting pictures of since forever, but she shoved me out the door without a word.
Did I mention the tattoo I don’t exactly remember getting?
And that’s only Saturday.
Now I need to pick up the pieces of my messed-up life.

Elisabeth has done it again! She has written another book with characters so lovable and real that you just can't help but want to move to Evergreen Grove and hang out with them! I love the fact that they have flaws just like the rest of us. Ethan is the quintessential geek with all kinds of yum underneath! And LeeAnne is the tough on the outside but all kinds of scared on the inside just needing the right kind of guy to come along and show her that all guys aren't bad. Loved, Loved, Loved this book! I'm so hooked on this Evergreen Grove series! And you'll be happy to know that you'll see a sprinkling of your other favorite characters in there too! So hurry up! What are you waiting for? Get this book!!

This was an awesome book. You instantly fall in love with these characters. Two people who think they are never good enough or something is wrong with them try to overcome it all with love. It's not all that easy but what is. I love the banter between these two and the jokes! A must read! This can be read as a stand alone book.

Ethan & LeeAnne's story is told very well! They each have insecurities & issues, but together they have what it takes to help each other through. I loved the sweetness of their relationship! They're both kinda awkward cute. Loved seeing my Dante & Michelle, too! Definite thumbs up!! : )

If I have said it once, I've said it a thousand times - I love this series. Book four and I am not bored yet. Elisabeth Staab is delivering book after book and each time I am anxious to meet more people from Evergreen Grove. This time around it's Ethan and Leeanne.
I loved both characters, but I loved Ethan just a little bit more than Leeanne. He is this super sweet guy who just had the bad surprise of a lifetime. Your dad in bed with your girl? Um, yeah. Bad on so many levels, ya know? But in that happening he is forced to re-evaluate some things. And you really see him change. He becomes stronger and more confident, and he's just an all around great guy. And he has to work to get Leeanne's attention. He does a great job, for sure.
As for Leeanne. She's had a rough go of it and kind of in this keep your head down and get through the storm phase in her life. It's perfect timing for her, I think, for Ethan to come around. He is funny and romantic and seductive, and she needs that positive energy. To me, it seems like she is the type of girl who can get stuck in her own head a little too easily if she's left alone to do that. I could relate to that, for sure! So when she starts smiling in earnest, I'm super happy for her.
This is a good romance story. It's kind of like a breath of fresh air. I don't know - maybe it's the Grove. I just feel so connected to this little town, I feel like I can almost see it on a map with all of it's shops and streets and different locations from the series. So any time Staab gives us more characters to experience, it only enhances my view of the town as a whole.
I strongly urge you to pick up this series. Start with book one. There are some very delicate issues handled in the books - all of them really. But what I love is the finesse that Staab delivers these issues. She doesn't beat you over the head with what could be a controversial subject, but handles it in such a way that you don't even realize how smooth she really is. I appreciate that. I don't want to read a romance that is grandstanding on this issue or that. I want to read a story where the issue is just a part of life, and the characters deal with it in a way that seems natural for them to handle it.
Four months off from blogging has me at a bit of a loss for words, and I'm a bit rusty in the ways to get my points across. But through Ethan, Leeanne, AJ, Hayden, Dante, Michelle, Jake and Cassie you see how truly wonderful Staab's world-building skills are. You are doing yourself a disservice if you don't pick up this series.

I loved my return trip to Evergreen Grove.... Ethan and LeeAnne were fantastic characters.
Both of them have been hurt in some way and both have their own demons to overcome on a daily basis and that in itself gives them more in common than either of them realise.
I think one of the things I love most about Elisabeth Staab's books are the development of the relationships and the characters getting to know each other - hell, when they do eventually get together under the covers (or where ever else they happen to get their kit off!!) it's hot as hell... - but for me, the biggest draw is the build up and peeling away the layers to find the person underneath, and in Piece by Piece Elisabeth gave us exactly this.
As ever, there was a great supporting cast - some we've met before and others new in this book - and I'm hoping that from meeting them in Piece by Piece we get more visits to Evergreen Grove.

I can't wait to see who's up next in this series!!

Elisabeth Staab is one of my favorite authors because her writing really puts you right into the characters' minds and emotions. They practically come to life right off the pages. I especially loved spending time in Ethan's head. Okay, I'm going to be honest. I absolutely fell in love with him right from the beginning, and loved him even more as I watched him with LeeAnne. His endless supply of jokes is very endearing as well. I was rooting for LeeAnne too. Her life has been tough, and she is in a very different place than Ethan, but they fit together so well. There is a beautiful part in the book that compares them to puzzle pieces that I thought was just perfect. There's a lot of those little moments that make an impact in Piece by Piece. It's another reason for why I love Staab's books. I always find myself doing a lot of highlighting and thinking. Her conversational, entertaining, and very emotional writing style makes it impossible for me to put her books down, and they make a lasting impression. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another great entry in this series. Likable characters and great character growth. Realistic conflicts and resolutions. I hope there will be more.
