If you are taking this for the first time, take the training, print your certificate and bring it with you to class.
Know that your Y01 training should not expire BEFORE 4/30/2017. If it does, please retake and bring your updated Y01 training certificate to class.
Cost: FREE, however, bring all requested training certificates and information, with you.
Who: Adults (parents and citizens of Occoneechee Council service area), uniformed leaders, who are 18 or older who would like to share their vocation, avocation, or skills in one or more areas, to assist Scouts earn merit badges. Must register with BSA and pass a background check, must complete BSA youth protection training (online training). You do not need to be a registered Scout leader to be a Merit badge counselor.
Why: This is a required class, to register as a MB counselor in Occoneechee Council

If you are not a registered Scouter, please bring the name and contact phone number for three
people, who can provide a character reference for you. You will need to put this on your
BSA Adult application.
