JPD Impact Factor: 5.178

JPD now has an Impact Factor of 5.178 according to the recently released 2019 Journal Citation Reports.* This represents an impressive 40% increase from last year.

The journal now ranks 50th out of 271 journals in the competitive Neurosciences category. This positions the journal in top quartile of titles, up from 89th out of 267 (second quartile) last year.

Inaugural Parkinson Prize

2020 Winners Announced

JPD is pleased to announce the winners of the 2020 Parkinson Prize. Recipients of the award are Thomas Foltynie, MD, PhD (research article) and co-authors Heiko Braak, MD, and Kelly Del Tredici, MD, PhD (review article).The launch of this prize coincides with the anniversary celebrations commemorating the first 10 volumes of the journal. As this is the first occasion, the award period covers the first years of the journal and a prize is awarded for the best research article and one for the best review article. The awardee(s) receive a Parkinson Prize trophy and a cash prize of $1,000 in recognition of outstanding contribution to the advancement of Parkinson’s disease research. New Associate Editors

There have been some recent changes to the JPD Editorial Board. After several years of highly valued services to the journal, Howard Federoff, Thomas Gasser, Peter LeWitt and Tamas Revesz have decided to step down as Associate Editors of the journal. A big thank you for your relentless efforts to support the journal, and for helping us to further raise the profile of JPD. At the same time, we are very excited to welcome the following incoming associate editors: Alice Nieuwboer (Belgium), Caroline Moreau (France), Rodolfo Savica (USA), Tim Lynch (Ireland), Kelly Foote (USA) and Matt Lavoie (USA). Welcome to the team; with your support and that of the remainder of our excellent Editorial Board, we feel that we are ready to move forward and face the future, whatever the new challenges that we will encounter.

World Parkinson Coalition: News

WPC Virtual Care Partner Series

The World Parkinson Coalition (WPC) has organized a series of webcasts in the Virtual Care Partner Series. These virtual panels are accessible for all and cover meaningful topics with tips and advice from people with many years of experience in the Parkinson’s space.

The next webcast takes place on Sept 14, 2020 and will be on the topic Cognition, Caring, and Coping. The discussion will be led by moderator Julie Carter (Oregon Health & Science University) who will be joined on the panel by: Jenna Iseringhausen (NYU Langone Marlene), Paolo Fresco (Institute for Parkinson's and Movement Disorders), Elaine Book (University of British Columbia), and Hyam Kramer and Tom Gunnoud.
