NHS GPs using expensive Telephone numbers - extra information


1	The 56 cases listed below have all been added to the database after it was first created from NHS Choices on 5 May 2011. As NHS practices had until 31 March 2011 to vary their arrangements, there should have been NONE at that time.
2	Since 1 April 2010 (NOT 2011) NHS GPs have been prohibited from adopting telephone numbers that cost more to call than an equivalent call to a geographic number. This list cannot hope to indicate how many such cases there may be.
3	Accepting that records may have been out of date, but noting the initial group, I offer this information for the benefit of those who believe that we need simply to wait for existing (pre-2010) contracts to complete their 5/7 year term!
