Celebrating Volume 50: New Issue Online!

NEW ISSUE

We are pleased to announce that the first issue of Volume 50 of Environmental Policy and Law (EPL) has been published online. This issue has a new cover design and is filled with high-quality, covering legal and regulatory developments in the environmental field. This issue opens with a moment of reflection as we look to the future. Tomme Young, EPL’s long-serving Managing Editor, summarises this excellently in this issue's Editorial, in which she concludes: “With nearly a half century of experience, EPL will continue to grow, evolve and prepare to fill an enduring role in a new future of environmental law and policy around the world.” Access the full issue via the links below or jump to it here.

NEW WEBSITE

Coinciding with the publication of its 50th volume, the journal has a brand new website that has been launched in connection with the EPL's landmark celebrations. This platform is an excellent complement to the growing digital portfolio of IOS Press and is just one avenue by which our authors, readers, journal audience, and partners can engage with one another. EPL News: Celebratory Special Issue

A key aspect of 2020 is the planning for our celebratory issue. Bharat H. Desai, PhD, is the Guest Editor and an astounding series of articles have been commissioned on the theme: Pathways to Our Better Common Environmental Future. It will be guided by looking back at the trajectory hitherto followed – especially since the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment held in Stockholm in June 1972 – and look ahead to find appropriate “pathways” to global regulation of the environment. As EPL celebrates its 50th volume, we are also on the way to reach the 50th anniversary of the Stockholm Conference and the associated events planned in 2022. So, this is perfect timing to probe the future trajectory for our better common environmental future. Prof. Desai comments: “Outstanding scholars have been invited to contribute a thinking piece for this EPL special issue. A carefully calibrated topic will be taken up by each of the contributors to form part of a mosaic that could provide the best possible scholarly gaze into the future.” More details here.
