I have to admit that I am new to the Everyday Heroes world but that in no way affected my enjoyment of Call Out. This is a standalone story with no previous experience to the world needed.

While I did really enjoy reading Call out I did not expect the story to darken as it does. That is not a bad thing though. Viv gave me many reasons to smile and a couple of laugh out loud moments. I warmed to her quickly and her quirkiness really endeared her to me. Her hilarious terms for body parts were so funny.

Danny is pretty special though I did feel very frustrated with him at times. I liked his good heart and the way he treated Vivian, plus he’s a hero who saves lives for a living so what’s not to like? His past haunts him and holds power over his future. Unfortunately I was aware of mumbling a few frustrations about him.

At the beginning it was easy to forget that this is a romantic suspense but when that reminder hits, it has the impact of a sledge hammer.

There were some parts of the story that I felt were rushed and I would like to have seen those drawn out a bit more but the story still worked really well. The characters were interesting, the plot was solid and the suspense is like a shot of adrenaline. I read it in a couple of hours. I can happily recommend Call Out to readers that love a romance that has some laugh out loud moments, with some angst, along with an adrenaline fueled shot of suspense.

Viv and Danny are on fire in this romantic suspense. Lana~White Hot Reads

Danny is punishing himself internally for a past accident which left him broken to the core. Viv is the young, sexy thigh high wearing lady who has him thinking he can have more. From the first time these two meet, they are explosive. Viv shows Danny how to live and open up and Danny shows Viv new things. I really enjoyed this author and this book.

I love the everyday heroes world
Another great read by Autumn Archer.
Loved this darker suspense.
Liv and Danny are amazing together and the connection was instantaneous.
Danny is trying to atone for a past accident that killed his best friend. Vid is just sweet and innocent enough to be able to help him heal.
This book was full of emotion and drama
A must read.

On wow , Danny and Viv's story is so damn good.
You are kept on your toes the whole time . You know curve balls are coming , but they still knock you sideways when they come .

Viv lives a quiet, safe life . She never takes risks , she goes through life sticking to the rules.....that is until Danny comes into her life.

Danny lives his life helping others , he's a paramedic, but his life is plagued with guilt, a guilt he can't let go of . There is no sunshine in his life ........that is until Viv comes into his life .

I fell head over heels for Danny and Viv.
This is such a great read

Dulls, eases and soothes, and shelter, those are words that Danny describes what Vivian does for him, but he feels he doesn't deserve it. A few firsts for Vivian, pizza, sex, drinking and all those descriptions that she uses for Danny and his physic, and especially those scenarios that she describes to Danny for what she's looking for when they are together. She's sweet, cautious but also willing to take risks. "Life is messy and imperfect." It's a very emotional read and I was all over the place with my feelings. Definitely a roller coaster of a ride. What a beautiful latter at the end.

I loved this, I got drawn into the story from the very first chapter.
There were several comical notes, like their first encounter and her “love glove”.
Viv isn’t the typical 21 year old but she’s innocent and sweet.
Danny has already some burden he has to carry and he finds in Viv his compagnon.
This was an endearing love story full of emotions and drama.
I devoured it and it was a rollercoaster of emotions.
I highly recommend this book!

Amazing book! I recommend it to everyone in search of inspiration and heartwarming stories. Not only a part of me was healed while reading it, but I also felt being part of their story. Danny and Viv invite you into their world where step by step they learn how to love and to trust.
You won't regret choosing this book.
Thank you Autumn for your captivating storytelling.

Call Out by Autumn Archer is a new addition to The Everyday Heroes World series. This book is a romantic suspense and I was not prepared for how good this book was. Danny and Vivian are total opposites. She's straight-laced and Danny us rough around the edges. So many things happen in this book but you need to read it to know what happens. I can't wait to read more

This was the most intense emotional rollercoaster I have ever read. There were moments that I had to step away and breath because I got so sucked in reading this that every wall they hit, I was emotional. I would be feeling what they felt and I would be rooting for them. I would also be yelling at them.

Call Out is intense, heartbreaking, sweet and fantastic.

Viv is awesome! She is sweet and innocent with just the right amount of quirkiness. I loved the terms she came up with when talking about sex. I really enjoyed this story. It's a little steamy and had just enough suspense to keep me drawn in until the very last page. The ending was perfect and even had me shedding a few tears. I highly recommend this romantic suspense story!

Danny and Vivian’s story took me by surprise. Every book in this series has been great, but their story has this extra level that has you page turning. You anticipate there will be twists but still get that what the heck reaction. The experiences of these characters invoke a lot of emotions and you won’t want to put this down. This is one I would recommend you add to your reading list.

How can you live in the present when the past haunts you daily? Can you find that one person that will help you heal or does the past take over?

Danny Rocco is living with the pain and guilt of killing his best friend while in college. He just wants to start a new life but the accident seems to be taking over his life in more ways than one. He moves to a new city and starts a new job as a paramedic. He has one thing that he is adamant about and that is riding in a car so he travels by motorcycle only. He is now saving lives but how can he save himself from his own life?

Viv is a sweet girl that works at a retirement home and has become close to its clients. She is a woman that lives by the words of her nonna and that has had her not living her life. She believes that men are only looking for one thing and that they cannot be trusted. Her life has not been the best one as she was in foster homes and the one person that was her guardian has passed away and now Wini, a resident of the home is her guardian. Will Viv start to live her life when she meets a biker guy that takes care of her after she has hurt herself? Is this biker guy a bad guy like nonna said they were? What does she do when he keeps turning up at her workplace? Will she break her dating rules and give him a chance?

Danny has strong feelings for her and even though she has lived somewhat of a sheltered life, he wants to be with her. Viv had never had a boyfriend and this is all new to her. Will she be the one that gets Danny to believe that he is a good person and that he deserves happiness? Can Danny open up the world for VIV?

Autumn has done it again with a story that has you hooked right from the start. The story throws you few twists that has you sitting on the edge of your seat. The detailed writing of Danny's past was emotional and had you feeling for Danny. The character development was perfect as you saw Danny healing and Viv becoming more of a person that maybe deep down she wanted to be. This book is a must if you love age-gap, suspense romance and riding a rollercoaster of emotions.

Danny and Viv gave us quite the story! He’s repenting for something he can’t accept wasn’t his fault, while she’s trying to live her life by the outdated rules of a dead woman. Granted, that woman was Viv’s only family, but the legacy imprinted on Viv’s brain isn’t exactly a realistic one. As for Danny, he’s got similar issues but many more secrets. And when Viv gives her all to the man she thinks will be The One, Danny continues to hold back until it hurts the one person he’s trying to keep in his life.

I found Viv and her sometimes awkward phrases charming and funny, and the way that Danny managed to break her walls to show her something beyond the small existence she’d had for so long warmed my heart. As for Danny, his fears were so deeply rooted that he was living his entire life trying to make things right for others. And he really needed Viv and her adorable naïveté in some matters because she helped him break free also.

But secrets are ugly sometimes. And when the big secret comes out, danger comes with it. And this secret coming to town almost ruined everything for everyone. I loved how this was done because I was pretty sure it was going to twist, but the way it did was so painful that I was almost afraid to turn the page to find out how it all ends. Any time a book can make me worry like that, it’s a winner to me. As for the “did it all work out?” fear, let’s just say it went a way I didn’t expect and ended exactly as it should have. So kudos to this author for making me wonder, fear, guess, and hope for the best. All the misery was definitely worth that ending.

I read a lot...and I’ve never read a paramedic romance before. I love how Viv and Danny met, and the things that Viv says and her innocence made me giggle. This is a medium heat romance, filled with grief and regret.

Danny moved to move on with his life after he was in an accident with his best friend. He views the accident in black and white terms: that he killed his best friend. His best friend’s girlfriend is a problem thruout the book...he continuously helps her try to get her life back on track, but she’s sloops and has a drug and alcohol issue. Viv is the manager at a retirement community, giving dignity and respect to those that live there. Her life is pretty empty tho outside of her life there, and she’s a workaholic. She’s sooo funny guys. You’re going to love her. She was really sheltered growing up, and y’all she’s never had pizza before! I just can’t. A life without pizza...sigh.

This book has a lot of swoon worthy moments, but there were a lot of hard conversations as well, as Viv and Danny struggle with the secrets that he’s kept. Viv may also have a stalker too, and can I tell you, it isn’t pretty.

Triggers: grief, drugs, forced drug taking, kidnapping, grief.

There is a HEA, and they have to work hard for it. You need this in your life.

“Love doesn’t care for being careful. It just happens.”

Viv was a young, careful, young woman who loved old movies, classic Hollywood, and the elderly people she cared for at Blossom Grove Nursing Facility. Danny, classically handsome, haunted, running from his past, but kind and considerate. The two meet while Viv is running away from imaginary bikers who are trying to kidnap her...it’s only Danny, and she’s bloody and scraped from tripping and falling. Ever prepared, he cleans her up with his first aid kit and reluctantly goes on his way. One meeting is chance, two meetings, coincidence, three meetings...no one but Wini. You have a woman who has never loved and a man who believes he doesn’t deserve love falling fast and hard. Will the truth of the past get in the way? Will the demons, literally and figuratively stop their chance at something great? The attraction between these two is so strong, even death has to behave in trying to keep them apart.
This book was gripping and exciting, hilarious, and hot. You get all the feels reading this one, and no disappointment!

Vivian is making assumptions. She seems to have lived a sheltered life. Danny is struggling to start over. He deserves some happiness for a change.

This all Danny’s story. His heart has a lot of hurt locked up inside. Finding out if he throws away that invisible key is what keeps me reading. Vivian is part of the supporting cast. Will she become a main character? Another reason to keep reading. But then I start to wonder if I have it all backwards.

I found it interesting how Vivian’s thinking seems so old fashioned compared to today’s standards. But it can also be detrimental since there’s a sense of naivete that she seems to have. Danny is like a hero in training – he needs to believe in himself. The author goes one step further in creating her story and includes at least one mystery. Shows how imaginative she is. You know you have to see how everything is going to come out. Then we have an ending like nothing I’ve ever read before. Just may need to check out more of her work.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.

Danny and Viv's romantic suspense story truly had it all. It was sweet, humorous, heartbreaking, a little steamy, and had the perfect amount of suspense and action that will keep you glued to the pages and devouring each and every word.
Vivian is a young woman who lives a reasonably safe, quiet, low risk, and a little naive life.
When it comes to men and dating she has been guided by the lists and advice of her now deceased Nonna, who would like NOT approve of Danny the motorcycle riding man she meets one night.
Danny is a life saving paramedic who is heavily weighed down with guilt from his past. The shackles of guilt cause him to feel unworthy of a HEA particularly with a sweet woman like Viv.
I just loved these two and their journey, even when I wished Viv would have made Danny grovel a tad more at times. But as I read their story, I laughed out loud, I swooned, I held my breath with anticipation, I cringed (thinking girl you did not just say that, haha), and I finished with a warmed heart and a smile on my face.
A wonderful addition to The Everyday Heroes World

Vivian Swann's grandmother taught her about the types of men she should stay away from. But her grandmother's list was rooted in stereotypes. My guess was that because Viv had suffered so much in her young life, Nonna wanted to protect her as much as possible. When she encountered Danny Rocco, first on the side of the road when she fell and he stopped to help her, and then when he responded to a call at the nursing facility where she worked, she was attracted to his charisma. Everything about him contradicted all the things Nonna taught her. He did have a secret though, one he felt would change the way she viewed him. He wanted to keep her image of him as unsullied as possible. And then a blast from his past infiltrates his new life and topples the house of cards he's newly built.

This story was heartfelt. Viv was so innocent to the ways of the world that her sunny, bright disposition was almost an anomaly. But Danny was exactly who she needed and vice versa. He felt he didn't deserve her love and respect. But they perfectly balanced each other out and taught each other how to love unconditionally.

Romantic, suspenseful, opposites attract story that had me hooked from the beginning. Viv was raised in foster care until she was adopted when she was twelve, then was sheltered by her mother and led to believe most men are evil. She’s now 21, never dated, afraid of most men, and thinks she needs to eat healthy all the time. She meets Danny by chance and he helps her after she fell, ironically running from him because he was riding a motorcycle. Danny has gone thru trauma in his life and feels he doesn’t deserve someone like Viv. They work well as a couple but there’s a secret Danny is keeping from Viv.

I enjoyed the times Viv was tongue tied and all the names she came up with for Danny dick because she was taught a lady never says “cock”. She’s actually quite funny and it seems the more nervous she got, the funnier she became. All is going well until Danny’s past comes barreling into the present and Viv is in danger.

This is an absolutely sweet and emotional story that had me captivated and laughing right to the end. Danny and Vivian have this amazing instant attraction to one another that gave me goosebumps. There were sparks flying from that first innocent touch.

Danny and Vivian are such an adorable couple that you can’t help but fall in love with them. They take us readers on their wild whirlwind romance that has us enthralled by them. Their back and forth banter left me in stitches and with a huge smile on my face. I loved how innocent and sweet Vivian is. She has such an old soul to her and everything about her is genuine. Danny is her perfect match in every way but he has some demons in his past that he keeps running from. Can these two make it work when trouble finds them?

I loved every second of Danny and Vivian’s love story!

We start off with something tragic happening in Danny's life. Now 8 years later he has moved, he's an EMT and is just trying to get through each day.
Vivian Swann is the manager at a retirement home. She's quirky, shy and has a list of things her grandmother always told her to not do. Having to walk home after work one night she hears a MC coming up behind her and gets scared and tries to run but falls and it's Danny who stops to help her.
Danny is called out to the retirement home for medical assistance and runs into Vivian and so it begins.
Danny has secrets and Viv is trying to learn more about him but he just doesn't open up. Things start to happen and it's not good things so maybe she shouldn't have a happily ever after, that's only for movies not real life.
It's funny, emotional, suspenseful and just when you think you've got it, watch out.

I was given an advance readers copy of this book and have decided to write a voluntary honest review. I am rating this book 4.5 stars. I have to start off by saying at times Vivian was way too quirky for my taste. Just some of the phrases she used were just really childish. But I grew to like her. As for Danny he's so sexy, he's a guy who is take charge kind of guy. In and out of bedroom. He doesn't give up control which is really hot in my opinion. The way he was with Viv so demanding and you basically can't say no to Him, because he truly doesn't give you chance. And to be completely honest you don't want to say no to him. He has a rough past something that will never leave him. But he's strong and loyal. He's just not good with opening up.

This was my first time reading this author, and I really enjoyed it! It's full of emotion, yet you're not weighed down by it at the same time. Viv and Danny are opposites in almost every way, but they work so well. I definitely connected with what Danny went though and how broken he still seems himself, and I loved that Viv was basically the light to his dark, and truly got him to not only move on from what happened, but become at peace with it as well. Their love was hot, swoon worthy and romantic all in one!

My only complaint I have is because of Viv's naiveté with men, she comes off as *too* innocent, which at times didn't read right to me. Other than that though, this is definitely a great read!

Vivian is the best! She is quirky, wholesome, and down-to-earth. The terms she comes up with to talk about sex! Oh My! Her obsession with stockings is hilarious.

Danny has guilt that he has never been able to get rid of. He shows off his paramedic duties will bandaging up Vivans skinned kees. The attraction is instant. Vivian knows how to keep Danny on his toes. Things from his past threaten to come between them.

Autumn writes about the nervousness and real-life struggles that people think about when they first meet someone.

HOLY HELL! Call Out had me feeling all the emotions under the rainbow since I felt a part of it. Danny's past is dark which leads him to starting over again Sunnyville but we all know that past demons don't stay buried in the past. Viv is a beautiful young woman who marches to the beat of her own drum, and makes no apologies for it which I found utterly delightful. However, her late grandmother always told her that men who ride motorcycles are ones to stay away from, so when she needed help & Danny rode up riding his bike, well, she was a bit confused though the sparks were flying. They enter into a new journey, and while she's an open book, Danny has his secrets. She can see those secrets swirling around him, but his guilt has him in big time fear of telling her, and you already know that secrets tend to come out & his won't stay in the past adding in some twists. Will Viv be able to forgive him when she knows all?! You know what to do to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Forgiving Oneself and Moving On

Loved this emotional heartfelt story. Danny Rocco has never forgiven himself being the driver of an automobile accident that killed his best friend eight years ago. Now he has moved to a new town in hopes of starting over away from all the memories. He meets Vivian Swannis the manager of Blossom Grove Nursing Home. His attraction is immediate, but he’s scared that when she finds out the truth about him she won’t want anything to do with him. Viv’s Nonna warned her about guys like Danny, but he’s a gorgeous paramedic and seems so kind and caring even though he is secretive. I had trouble putting this novel down till I knew their whole story. Both characters fill you with empathy while the steamy romance introduces lots of drama with many twists and turns and heart jarring suspense.

When paramedic Danny stops to help Viv, who falls while running in heels because she thinks she’s being chased , there is instant chemistry between them. Danny is trying to start a new life to get away from guilt from his past. Viv has so many lists and fears instilled in her by her adopted mother. Danny and Viv are falling for each other, until Zoe, an obsessed and mental girl from Danny’s hometown, starts causing problems. This book is filled with drama, suspense, passion, and a HEA.
