Bloggaday 321 – Bloggaday Snow White and the Seven Deadly Sins pt 1

So I was watching one of those music videos put together with clips and sounds from movies. This one was a Pogo creation and featured Snow White. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qs1bG6BIYlo
A few things struck me as I watched it, and I figured I would jot them down for the crumbling Bloggaday.
First off, I don’t really remember anything about Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, but I imagine it would have been a much more intriguing movie had the seven dwarves been the seven deadly sins rather than seven dwarves named: Sneezy, Sleep, Dopey, Doc, Happy, Bashful, and Grumpy.
Hmm, I wonder how many times I can work the word “seven” into a paragraph. I think I would like to say “seven” seven times. I imagine had this been the seventh paragraph in this post, it would have been rather easy, but alas that’s not the case. I mean, how many times can you work “seven” naturally into a paragraph that doesn’t really describe anything with seven of something in it. Ha! In a second, I’d’ve now said “seven” seven times…

Damn.
I think I would like to try my hand at this Snow White and the Seven Deadly Sins idea, but as I said, I don’t really remember that much about the story. I mean, she wasn’t given a poisonous apple.
And I don’t think a wicked stepmother would let her have seven male roommates to keep her company.
I suppose her mother could have been shot within the first 5 minutes of the story, and if she had daddy issues, that would explain her chronic seeking of older men. And if her dad left, geeze, that would explain why she collected them like damn pokemon.
Um, let’s see… I’m pretty sure she knew how to use a fork. I’m sure she forked meat every night. You telling me those dwarves weren’t bringing home meat that needed to be… Yeah, what other Disney plot lines are there?
I don’t remember ever seeing her carpet, flying or otherwise, so that’s another storyline that isn’t Snow White.
She talked to animals, not teapots and candlesticks, so meh. But you know what? That brings me to one of my other points. All of these dim princess stories involve women who can talk to animals. What’s up with that? I mean I can break into some psych theories, but no one wants that.
So what was the plot for Snow White? I can’t imagine they would sneak in a premarital relations theme into one of their stories, so what was the point of the movie?
If I ever get around to watching it somehow I definitely need to write a wee bit of fiction with that whole Seven Deadly Sins angle. If I get a burner under myself, perhaps I can submit it to The Sand Canyon Review and their March 18th deadline. But how will I ever know what their rules for submission are?
