- This permission form is required to be submitted in advance for any person between the ages of 13 - 17 years old to visit a Barnard or Columbia student living in a Barnard Residence Hall without their parent/legal guardian present.
- No one under the age of 13 is permitted to enter any Barnard-owned or operated residence halls without their parent or legal guardian being present the entire time (and may not stay overnight in the residence halls).
- This form must be submitted a minimum of 2 days in advance of campus visi, and no later than 10am on Friday for a weekend visit of a minor not accompanied by a guardian. Minors will not be permitted access to the residence halls without approval of this form.
- Minors are not permitted as guests during specific periods on campus (including breaks and exam periods). For the list of times minors are not permitted as guests, please see below.
- Minor guests must be accompanied by their student host at all times while they are on campus or in their host’s residence hall. Only one student may be designated as the host and the minor may only enter the host’s assigned residence hall.
- Guests are subject to all College, local, state, and federal laws. Violations of policies by the student host or their minor guest may result in parental notification, required vacating of College premises, and/or loss of host’s guest privileges.
- A Minor may visit for no more than 3 consecutive nights (and no more than 3 nights in any 30-day period).
- This form must be completed & signed by the minor’s parent or legal guardian.
One guest per form. Requests for siblings, etc. must be submitted via a separate form for each individual.
