Please forward to fellow researchers & share news of the journal | Abstracted/Indexed: PubMed Central - Google Scholar -Embase | Dear Colleague, This mailing provides an update about Brain Plasticity (BPL), the high-quality open access journal focusing on all aspects of neurogenesis, gliogenesis and synaptic plasticity, from development to the adult. We are busy working on a number of BPL issues and the content will be published in the coming months. The content of our latest special issue, Lifestyle Factors & Neurodegenerative Diseases (BPL, Vol.4, Iss.1) is proving popular. Articles from this issue have been the most read this year out of all the recently published content (see below). Our next special issue will focus on Exercise and Cognition – by Henriette van Praag, PhD (Florida Atlantic University) and Ozioma Okonkwo, PhD (University of Wisconsin) – and the main objective of this issue is to highlight the recent progress in research on how physical activity can promote human brain health throughout the lifespan. Excercise is featured in a number of articles that appear in our list of most read BPL content this year (as can be seen below). It is also a focus of the imminent inaugural International Sport Neuroscience Conference taking place in Tsukuba, Japan this month, at which Dr. van Praag will be presenting (read on for further details). | Submit Your Research We strive to give high visibility and impact to the science published in our journal. As a member of our research community, we invite you to submit manuscripts for consideration on all aspects of neural plasticity. Brain Plasticity offers contributing authors many benefits: • First class Editorial Board • Rigorous peer review and speedy manuscript processing • Rapid online publication (pre-press) • Open Access publication • Open Access author fees waived until the end of 2019 Submit your manuscript online via msTracker View detailed Instructions to Authors Aims and Scope We look forward to working with you. The aim of the event is to share current topics with researchers who are engaged in work related to neuroscience research on exercise and sports based on behavioral neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience and neurorehabilitation. The presentations at the conference will focus on: How do exercise and sports impact brain functions and health? How does exercise contribute to reducing neurodegenerative diseases? What role do brain functions play in exerting human high performance? On day 2 of the meeting, our BPL co-Editor-in-Chief Henriette van Praag, PhD, will be presenting on the topic "Physical Activity and Muscle–Brain Crosstalk." For more details, visit the conference website. BPL information will be available to attendees at this meeting: we encourage delegates to consider submitting research to the journal. | Help Spread the News of BPL If you know of any colleagues or fellow researchers who are not yet signed up to receive the newsletter, we invite you to share this mailing with them and encourage them to sign up.
